U should take another opinion before making any decision. As you said you r very active, now a days ortho advice not to undergo knee replacement unless its so painful that you have to take pain killers regularly. Because natural joint s natural. For details you can consult me.

I am 19 years old and I have leg pain since last three days and I have put fast relief but it is also not working so ...
Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Hello lybrate-user being a physician I ll tell you conservative management to help. But if this doesn't work for you then I am afraid you have to go for a surgery advice 1. Stop any weight lifting strictly. Sometime unknowingly also we pick some weigh like bucket of water or a small kid in home or lpg cylinder etc. So you have to watch out for that 2. No sitting on floor and getting up 3. Apply lumbo- sacral belt while prolong sitting and while traveling 3. Please exercise and go to a professional physiotherapist for guidance. Loose some weight like 3 to 4 kg 4. Tab. Gabapin NT 100/10 twice a day after meals for 2 weeks 5. Tab. Ultacet twice a day after meals for 2 weeks 6. U can apply locally any gel (volini) and do hot fomentation if it's pain more 7. Sit straight always please do 1. Sr. Calcium levels 2. Vitamin D3 levels 3. IPTH levels 4. Sr. Phosphorus levels 5. TSH levels 6. Uric acid levels 7. B12 levels review with report.

I am 36 yera old female and have a pain in my right shoulder for last 1 months. So what should I do?

Diploma in Acupuncture, Pranic Healing, MD - Acupuncture
Acupuncturist, Bangalore
Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days.
