Cavity can be treated either by filling or rct depends upon the condition of pulp. Get one x-ray done. It will help to decide the treatment you need. For prevention you should take care of your oral hygiene. Brush twice regularly. Rinse after every meal. Floss your tooth to prevent food impaction.

You need scaling polishing for sure. But bad breath has many causes intraoral like deposits and gum disease and extraoral like nasal infection, gastric infection etc. So get your complete examination done. Brush twice, rinse after every meal and clean your tongue as well.

Munching foods like apples, pears, carrots or celery after brushing can help in preventing discoloration as they trigger tooth-bathing saliva which helps in keeping the teeth whiter.

I have very dirty teeth. Some looks little brownish what should I do to make it perfect white. & strong.

I have very dirty teeth. Some looks little brownish what should I do to make it perfect white. & strong.
These brown stains could be from inside the tooth (brown teeth could be due to a condition called fluorosis.) or outside the tooth. If they are outside the tooth you can get you teeth cleaned by scaling by visiting a dentist. If they are due to fluorosis bleaching or someother procedure depending on severity can be done. If it is mild, best to leave it alone.

All filling doesn't require a cap, if RCT is done the you need it, I don't know what kind of filling you have it, so it's better to visit your nearby dentist and have a check up and get the dental expert opinion, I am sure mouth ulcer is not because of filling done to your teeth, let it be clear for you.

My grandson is suffering swelling on lower jaw chin for the past 10 days. Initially it was informed as infection and was given medicines. Slowly the swelling got reduced but not significantly. The boy suffered a lot initially and was not able to take food but now slowly taking. Could you advice on this.

Sir swelling may be hard or soft on touch. Treatment for both are different, if its soft den there may be pus formation below d root of any tooth, get an rct (root canal treatment) done. If d swelling is hard den surgical removal is required. Regards.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use sensodent tooth paste for 2 to 3 weeks. Apply snowdent paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

I am a male of 26 years, 2 years ago I have had a major accident that resulted in multiple facial fractures, dislocation of the mandibular condyle and severe facial deformity. 1st surgery was a failure and I couldn't even eat for some months ,so we opted for the 2nd one and it is a partial success because it only corrected my dental fractures so that I could eat well but my major concern is my facial profile. I'm very much depressed regarding it, Is there any chance that my mandibular condyle can be corrected and relocated so that my facial profile is restored to the previous state.

MFDS RCPS (Glasgow), MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Hi lybrate-user Whether, and to what extent your facial profile can be corrected/ improved depends upon the nature and extent of your injuries, and the nature of your deformity. A thorough clinical and radiographic evaluation is a necessary prerequisite for such an assessment. You need to visit an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with all your previous records, including the initial radiographs, the most recent radiographs and records of your previous surgeries so a thorough evaluation may be done. Additional radiographs and other investigations may then be ordered as needed. Hope this helps.

Hello Sir
Is it true that brushing teeth for longer time affects tooth enamels or gums? How long should one brush at ...
Brushing will damage tooth only if you brush with excess pressure and if you do wrong brushing technique. Brushing should be done only for required time. You can visit a dentist who can guide you and help you. Its like we should brush after having food, but practically I suggest you to brush early morning and night before you go to bed. Normal brushing will never damage tooth, certain tooth pastes or powders having more abrasives or whitening tooth powders or paste can damage tooth.

Dry mouth may result from less salivation in to your mouth because of dehydration, very less jaw movements. It may also result from mouth breathing, that we do unknowingly while sleeping. Drink good amount of water, jaw movements while talking causes salivation. Ask someone to observe you while sleeping. If you have mouth breathing, there are certain appliances to manage it. You can contact for that.
