Dear lybrate-user, your period date could get postponed due to the pills that you have taken but to still remove any doubts from your mind, please go for a blood pregnancy test.

One of the best oils that you can think of switching to if you feel that you are overweight is olive oil. It is rich in monounsaturated fats which will help in lowering the ldl cholesterol and improving the hdl cholesterol in your body.

Daily consumption of one to two tablespoons of olive oil will do no harm to your body when compared to butter and other vegetable oils.

On the starting time of periods my stomach pain very much. Please tell me better solution. Thanks.
You are suffering from dysmenorrhoea, which is very common. It should be treated initially with meftal spas (pain killer) tablets. If the pain is too severe it should be further investigated with ultrasound, to find out the exact cause. You could be suffering from endometriosis or ovarian cysr or fibroid.

Q: I am 19 year old female. I have Pcos. Recently I did my hormone profile. Test showed normal results. Only Prolactin was little more from normal range. It showed 35ng/ml. Moreover I have no complaints of headache and all other problems. Doctor paniced me. Why this hormone is more. I just want to know is there any problem in this issue. How to normalize level of prolactin.

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), PGDHHM, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Your prolactin is border line raised. You can take medicine for the same. Normally it is associated with hypothyroid. If your thyroid profile is normal then no need to worry. This is most likely idiopathic ie. No cause. It will become normal with medicine.

Reasons For Recurrent Miscarriage

DGO, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Reasons For Recurrent Miscarriage

Recurrent miscarriage is a condition when there has been three or more successive pregnancy losses. It is different from infertility as, infertility is the inability to conceive. For many cases, the cause of a recurrent miscarriage has not always been found. A number of factors can cause recurrent miscarriages of which some are treatable. It may not always be possible to identify a cause for recurrent miscarriage in a couple, even after extensive research and treatment procedures. Some of the common causes of recurrent miscarriage are described below:

  1. Chromosomal abnormalities: Incompatible chromosomes can result into pregnancy losses. When an egg and a sperm meet, of which one of them is faulty, they can't line up properly resulting into chromosomal abnormality. Such conditions lead to miscarriages.
  2. Uterine abnormalities or Incompetent cervixes: Miscarriages occur if the uterus is abnormally shaped since the embryo is not properly implanted or even if it gets implanted, it may not get sufficient nourishment to survive. If the woman has a weak cervix, it cannot hold the developing embryo, leading to miscarriage.
  3. Immunologic disorders: Under rare cases, the embryo itself is not accepted by the body. Antiphospholipid antibodies are those, which attack self tissues, such as embryos and prevent them from building up. This leads to recurrent miscarriage.
  4. Untreated thyroid problems: Conditions such as thyroid or uncontrolled diabetes result in uterine conditions which make it tough for the embryos to survive.
  5. Polycystic ovary syndrome: Women with polycystic ovary syndrome tend to have high levels of male hormones which, result in irregular menstruation and ovulation. This can prevent the lining of the endometrium from maturing that is required for holding the embryo.
  6. Bacterial infections: There may be presence of a number of microorganisms inside the reproductive tract that may be harmless for the person. But there may be certain bacteria lined up in the reproductive tract, which can prevent development of embryo, thus leading to miscarriages.
  7. Lifestyle: Smoking and drinking are harmful lifestyle habits, which may increase the chance of miscarriage to a great extent. It is always advised to avoid smoking or drinking when you wish to conceive. Other lifestyle conditions, such as working in certain environments like hospital environments, farms, laboratories, etc, may lead to miscarriages; however, the exact reason has not been identified yet.

Is it safe to have sex during pregnancy. If to avoid which months of pregnancy it should be avoided.

FECSM ( spain), Fellow of European Society of Sexual Medicine., School of Sexual Medicine, DPM, MBBS

Is it safe to have sex during pregnancy. If to avoid which months of pregnancy it should be avoided.
Hello lybrate-user, it's safe to have sex usually in second trimester unless your partner has any complications in pregnancy. Females would be more stable during this trimester emotionally and physically. Less complaints of nausea and other complaints and due to harmonal changes usually desire is more during this trimester. Less uterine contractions so less chances of abortions during second trimester. But make sure you partner is not having any complications in her pregnancy. Hope this answers your query.

Hi, heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding, which is also called menorrhagia, can occur to any menstruating woman. It can also cause serious health problem such as iron-deficiency anemia. In order to stop heavy menstrual bleeding naturally, you can try different types of home remedies and making changes to your diet. Home remedies: -cinnamon, which you may use in cooking or baking, is also a well-known spice that may provide relief from heavy bleeding. Incorporate more cinnamon into your diet or take it alone to help calm the uterus and prevent heavy bleeding. Try mixing one cup of hot water with three teaspoon of powdered cinnamon and take it every thirty minutes during your menstrual cycle. -wash 2 cups of raspberry leaves and bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Strain and enjoy one cup up to three times a day. -placing an ice pack on your abdomen may reduce bleeding (no more than 20 minutes). It may also alleviate pain and swelling. -choose healthy and nutrient dense foods such as proteins including nuts, iron rich foods like dark green leafy vegetables, and dairy products like yogurt or cheese for calcium. Green beans contain high fiber and are enriched with vitamin b, which prevents abdominal cramps. Choose breads and grains that are fortified with iron, vitamin b, fiber and protein. Eat vegetables such as broccoli, kale, sweet potatoes, and spinach to help you get iron, calcium, and vitamin c. Eat fruits such as oranges and strawberries for vitamin c. Prunes and dried apricots are a good source of iron. Medication: take hamamelis q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water every 2 hrly during the menses. And for rest of the days, take five phos. And alfaalfa tonic. Take them thrice daily for 4 weeks and revert me back. Even after taking these medication, if there is no relief in the sufferings, need to get an ultrasound (pelvis) done first.

Straight green tea is safe for breastfeeding mothers, though it is best consumed in moderation. You would have to drink several cups a day to reach the upper limits of allowable caffeine, but even a small amount of caffeine can affect your baby.

I took unwanted 72 pill after 24 hours of the sex. My. Expected date for bleeding is. 12 april. Usually I get periods of 25 days, is that pill is worthful.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

Although this pill is beneficial for that u might not be pregnant but sometimes cases r reported that taking this pill after 24 hrs of sex in danger period may lead to pieces remaining in uterus which have to be removed mechanically called dnc. But for this symptoms r continuous bleeding for long once periods started. Since u r still expecting your periods, so don't panic and wait. If after 1 wk from now, no bleeding, go 4 pregnancy test.

Mai 21 saal ki hu. Maine apne boyfriend ke sath 10 baar sex kia hai. Toh ab sex na karu toh kya 1-2 saal tak pahle jaisa ho sakta hai tab sex karne par firr se blood aaega.

MBBS
General Physician, Noida
The hymen is a membrane which tears in initial sex ,which shows as blood in first or initial few times sex, and if you give time gap it will not show any bleeding in subsequent sex; But bleeding not showing up on sex is not an indication that you are not virgin; Hymen tear can happen due to many other reasons also ;so do not worry on this matter

CAN VIRGINS GET SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES ?

Yes, they can. Many STDs spread through any type of sexual activity, including skin-to-skin contact and oral sex. This is especially true of STDs that produce genital lesions or sores.
