Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise. Hamstring stretching Towel Hamstring Stretch Lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it.. Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds. Seated Hamstring Stretch While sitting at the edge of a chair, straighten one leg in front of the body with the heel on the floor. Then, sit up straight and try pushing the navel towards the thigh without leaning the trunk of the body forwards. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds Repeat 3 times for each leg.

Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 1 wk, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hi the causes of the back pain would be due to many reasons. We need to actually rule out the exact cause of the problem by performing some tests pertaining to the back. As of now, you can go with hot water fomentation thrice daily for 20 mins per session and do some basic exercises for the back.

Leg cramps or pain at night can be caused due to vitamin deficiency. Get your vit. B12, vit. D3 and calcium checked. Take fresh fruits, lots of water, hot bag at night. Consult me if you need more advice.

Sir, i am 43 years old service man. Working in cement factory and nature of job is mainly working with computer. From last 3-4 months I am suffering with abnormal streching problem in neck and arms. Also feels uneasy at the time of walking as unbalancing like vertigo. A eight day physio course have been taken by me few days back. But after relief for three days, I feel again stiffness in head and neck and suppose to use stemetil regularly. Kindly suggest me proper remedy. Is it cervical or some thing else. May you took heavy weight or more repetition more then your limits or your posture may be wrong. Do ice massage or cold therapy initial 48 hours with some stretching of hand muscles. Followed by hot fomentation after 48 hours of injury with some more stretching and lite strengthening exercises. Stop any activity that develop pain during movement.
