After few days of surgery ambulation is very important and lying in flat position cause chest congestion keep him hydrated water with sugar and salt ,the systolic BP should not fall below 100 chest physio (that is patting slowly by palms on back of chest twice a day )spit the cough always give luke warm water.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

As children we wait to grow up and have a strong body as endorsed by our favorite movie stars, athlete, close friends and family members. We all strongly believe that a good physique is a great ways to attract people. What we often fail to recognize is that reaping a healthy body and a good physique requires small daily inputs. There are small things which most of us can do to help our muscles remain young and strong. Read on to know more about some magical ways to look youthful.

  1. Lift those Weights: While most think of cardio workouts, not everybody turns to the weights (learn more to maintain the healthy weight). Weights are one of the best ways to maintain muscle mass. Include it as a part of your routine, do it often, and gradually increase the frequency and the weights to cover all body parts including arms, back, shoulders, chest and legs.
  2. Eat more protein: A protein-rich diet reduces the risk of muscle loss. While most people tend to just move to an all-protein diet, that is not the best way. For 1 kg of your weight, add 1.5 g of protein in your diet. For muscle building, you need about double what a normal person would need, which is about 0.8 g per kg. As a safe practice, check with your trainer and dietitian to arrive at a diet that would suit your requirements (Read more about Importance of Protein)
  3. Plan your meals: As your body needs all essential ingredients, plan your meal to ensure it covers all nutrients. From a muscle building point of view, ensure the required amount of protein is packed in all the 3 meals. It is good to spread out the protein intake through your meals rather than have one protein-loaded meal in a day.
  4. Pomegranates: These so called 'wonder fruits' contain a molecule which reduces the effects of ageing in the muscles. There are even pomegranate extracts which are believed to provide the same benefits, so the season is not a problem.
  5. Get some sun: While it is definitely not advisable to sun bath daily, getting a good amount of sun on a daily basis is very good for both the mind and the body. Sunlight, which is the main source of vitamin D, can reduce muscle weakness. It is also essential for calcium absorption, which is essential for muscle and bone health. Reduced amounts of vitamin D have been shown to lead to muscle wasting. A good idea is to walk or run out in the sun instead of in the gym. You get the benefits of both the sun and the workout, leaving you rejuvenated.

Try these simple tricks and see your muscle take time to lose their firmness and strength.

Pain may be due to strain, sprain, weather change etc. *Don’t sit continuously working on laptop etc. Get up periodically and relax *Restrict bike driving as far as possible. *Get yourself tested whether you have spondylitis problem. I have joint effusion, 2 years ago I had injury and I am still suffering from pain. The effusion is less by now but occasional pain is there, I have changed 5 orthopaedic doctor n 2 physiotherapists. They could not lower the level of pain.

You haven't mentioned which joint effusion you have? there are many different treatment options for joint effusion, including both home care and physician-led care. The exact treatment will depend on the severity of the condition as well as the cause of it. Some treatments specifically look to address the symptoms whereas others look to combat the underlying cause. If your condition is being caused by an infection, then the doctor may prescribe antibiotics to fight the infection. Physiotherapy exercises are also effective in reducing effusion and stiffness of the joint. Some home remedies for joint effusion are: take any medications the doctor prescribes you. Be gentle with your joint. Rest, avoid activities that put pressure on your joint, while it is painful and swollen. Ice can help control pain and swelling. Apply an ice pack, wrapped in a cloth for 15 minutes every two to four hours. Elevation-raise your knee (or elbow, or foot) using pillows above the level of your heart. Manage your weight. If you are overweight, losing weight will help.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.

Hello, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. It has been seen in a lot of females that they start having pain after deliveries. Actually there is no physiological reason for it, but it is mainly contributed by weak back muscles, lack of physical activity, lack of exposure to sunlight which can lead to vitamin d deficiency besides other reasons. My advise for you initially would be: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication which suits you but if your lactating then it will be wise to ask your pediatrician before taking any medication - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings, traveling on uneven surfaces for long time. Please let me know how you are feeling after 2-3 weeks of initial conservative management, then we will see what further investigations we require for you. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

I would suggest you to see physiotherapy doctor, get your back checked thoroughly. As of now apply heat daily trice a day. Take rest, avoid sitting down on floor, use western toilet.

I have a minor fracture in my left elbow. Doctor suggest me plaster for a month but I also contact a ayurvedic clinic they suggest me for regular oil massage. I need help. I want to go with ayurveda. please suggest me right opinion.

Go to physiotherapy clinic learn some knee isometric and isotonic exercise and walking is ok but you should wear the knee cap while walking slowly increase the time of total exercise.
