Sjogren sydrome ko conform karne ke liye we have to do some investigation . Without doing investigation we cant decide any treatment. There are other reasons also of dry mouth. If you are a smoker due to this reason also dry mouth will occurs. Some drug also leads to dry mouth. After finding cause we will better advice you. Untill that you take plenty of water in between shorter interval, chew sugar free chewingum , artificial saliva also available in market. Bleeding can be caries or gum issues. If its caries you need to undergo a root canal procedure followed by cap on it. This procedure may require 5-7 visits to a dentist depending on the severity of the infection and caries. If gum issues are there you need to get scaling and polishing done from a dentist. Also incorporate use of dental floss in your daily oral hygiene procedure. Visit a dentist at your earliest.

You can exercise for healthier gums as well. Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

I am getting cuts around the corners of my mouth. What is the reason for it? Is it infectious? It comes frequently.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. CAUSES ? It is caused by infection with a yeast called Candida. Candida is often present in the mouth and if it spreads to the corners of the mouth it can cause angular cheilitis. ? It can also be caused by infection with the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. This organism is present without causing problems in the nose of some people. If it spreads to the corners of the mouth it can cause angular cheilitis. The chance of getting angular cheilitis may increase: ? If you have some chronic bowel problems ? If you are low in iron, vitamin B12 or folic acid ? If you have a condition where you drool saliva at the corners of the mouth ? If you wear dentures that do not adequately support the corners of the mouth HOME REMEDY 1. Honey 2. Aloe Vera Gel 3. Lip Balms and Moisturizers 4. Drink plenty of water 5. Cocoa Butter 6. Homemade Mixture 7. 2 tablespoons of tea tree oil, 1 tablespoon of Vitamin E oil, and tablespoon of petroleum jelly should be mixed and applied over the cracked area as many times possible in a day. 8. Lemon 9. Cucumber 10. Neem Leaves TREATMENT (PRISCRIPTION MEDICINES) 1. Miconazole ointment or candid ointment - need to apply to the corners of your mouth usually 2-4 times daily for 2 or more weeks 2. Chlorhexidine mouthwash used four times daily 3. Course of tablets such as Fluconazole 4. C. Becosules 5 cap, for five days in the morning after meals. HOW CAN YOU PREVENT ANGULAR CHEILITIS? If you take the following steps you may be able to prevent angular cheilitis from developing: ? Maintain good oral and denture hygiene ? Wear well-fitting dentures which provide adequate lip support ? Regularly rinse your mouth with water & mouth wash ? Keep good control of your diabetes ? Eat a well-balanced diet Advance procedures can be done with laser.DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Is That Sore In Your Mouth Serious?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Is That Sore In Your Mouth Serious?

Small painful mouth sores can be anywhere in the mouth lips, soft palate, hard palate, cheeks, gum base, tongue and even on the roof of the mouth. When situated  inside the mouth, they can cause pain during eating or swallowing, especially with hot or spicy foods. A bigger cause for concern is that these mouth sores or mouth ulcers or canker sores could be an indication of an underlying health condition. A lot of chronic diseases, including HIV, herpes, and syphilis, manifest themselves as mouth sores. The following are some of the health conditions to watch out for when you have mouth sores. Each disease has characteristic appearance and so very often are easy to identify.

1. Herpes simplex (HSV1): The herpes simplex virus causes sores on the lips only which are usually painful with red blisters that last about 10 to 14 days. These are caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 and the sores appear about 20 days after contracting the virus. Also, once they enter the system, they can cause recurrent attacks especially when the immunity is low.

2. Canker sore: The most common type of mouth ulcer, they are also known as aphthous ulcers and are usually seen on the soft tissues of the mouth (not the hard palate or the gum base). These are generally innocuous and heal within 5 to 7 days. Do reach out for medical help if there are more than 5 to 6 bouts of canker sores in a year.

3. Oral thrush: Also known as candidiasis, this is where there are whitish lesions on the tongue and the insides of the mouth. Candida is a fungus that is normally present in the mouth, but when the immune system is weakened, it can lead to an infection, orally manifested as white lesions. These are typical and appear in toddlers and in patients with anemia, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, or cancer patients on chemotherapy.

4. HIV/AIDS: Another disease which first can be diagnosed in the mouth is HIV/AIDS. In the first stages of infection, known as acute retroviral syndrome, where the first symptoms of the disease begin to manifest, oral ulcers are one of the first symptoms. With the other associated symptoms, more workup for diagnosis should be done followed by appropriate treatment.

5. Oral cancers: The lining of the inside of the mouth can develop cancer and usually it appears in the form of chronic non healing ulcer that just does not go away. Seen anywhere in the mouth, nonhealing ulcers are a cause for concern and should be investigated and treated.

As seen above, mouth sores may be harmless often, but in some cases, may have something more to tell about the health in some cases. Consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Hi caries or cavity is a progressive process. Once it starts it can't be stopped. So you need to go for an x-ray as soon as possible. After that treatment can be decided. It can be treated either by filling or rct depends upon extent of the cavity.

You might be suffering from disease of gums called as" pyorrhea. Start doing warm saline rinses after meals. Also get an oral prophylaxis(scaling) done by a dentist. That would help a lot.

Get laminate or crown done depending upon amount of tooth structure lost. You may need root canal treatment for that tooth. Radiograph and check up will decide final treatment plan.
