Iam a mother of 6 month baby. Please suggest me most beneficial food that help me and my baby?
After the age of six months, babies need complementary food along with breastmilk. Fresh, home cooked foods which have a thick, soft consistency are best for babies when you start complementary feeding.

My grand daughter (40) days old cries every day late evening time. I have consulted leading pediatrician . Some nosal drop and suspected cold and some medicine for spazams is given but till this crying continues. Please suggest.

M.D.( Pediatrics), DCH
Pediatrician,
It looks like evening colic, for which no reason can be subscribed. Nothing to worry if child is taking good amount of feeds and growing well. Support and make the child feel secure. She will grow out of this sooner. May give colimex drops 4-5 half an hour before fixed time (if any) of crying. This is common problem faced by many young mothers.

It had been better if you mention weight and height. some children look lean. If his wt is about 12 kg and ht about 85 cm. you need not worry. Give him home made nutritious diet. Add supplement Vitamin D.

Easy Ways to Reduce Your Kid's Exposure to Cell Phone Radiation

DNB (Pediatrics), MBBS
Pediatrician, Ghaziabad
Easy Ways to Reduce Your Kid's Exposure to Cell Phone Radiation

Cell phones bring us close to people, but can also have a harmful effect on our health. Studies show that cell phone radiation could be one of the causes for brain cancer. However, this does not stop us from using a cell phone. Unfortunately, some people also allow their children to use cell phones, thus putting them at risk also.

Here are a few tips to reduce your child's exposure to cell phone radiation:

  1. Limit the use of cell phones: Adding an old school landline to your home can be used not only as a decor element, but functionally as well. When at home, route all calls of your cell phone to the landline. In addition, do not allow your children to use the cell phone as toy to play games on. If you absolutely must, give them the phone to play a game on, but first put it onto flight mode.
  2. Maintain distance: Start using a headset while answering calls on your cell phone. This allows you to keep a distance between the phone and your body. If children use your phone to answer calls, encourage them to do the same as well. As far as possible do not keep your phone in your pocket for long durations. If the cell phone is used as a morning alarm, ensure that it is not kept under the pillow, but on the bedside table.
  3. Text: Studies show that texting emits less radiation than voice calls. Make use of group messaging facilities to further reduce the amount of messages you need to send out and in turn the radiation emitted.
  4. Choose a good case: Some phone cases are built with materials that limit the radiation emitted by the phone. These cases allow the phone to receive signal, but restrict the outgoing radiations, thus protecting the person using the phone.
  5. Find good signal: Using your phone in an area with good reception will not only let you enjoy an uninterrupted call, but can also protect you against cell phone radiation. This is because radiation and signal strength have an inversely proportional relationship; the lower the signal, the higher the amount of radiation emitted.
  6. Ethernet cords: Today, an internet connection is a must have in every house. Along with cell phones, laptops and tablets emit radiation as well. To protect your family from this radiation use an Ethernet cord to connect to the internet instead of a wireless router.

Hello, Baby cry when being put down on bed, being separated from her caregiver makes her feel that some thing is  different going on depriving her the affection of her mother. ▪how can she really ignore that she is being put down from the lap of her mother as she misses the softness of nature & body of her mother •smell of the body •breathing chest of her mother •the affectionate motherly touch as well. •here begins the  feeling of insecurity for the baby. ●Baby, misses  the temperature of the body of her mother waking her up while being put down. Henceforth, Baby should be wrapped up in a blanket while putting her down keeping her body warm. ●baby is not accustomed to pee or poop what she has to learn in due course of time so it's a natural phenomenon for an infants to cry while passing urine or stool. Your feedback matters ,please. The care.

Please keep regular record of her temperature and see if it's rising. You hv to watch for other symptoms like cough cold, vomiting, lethargy or rashes before proceeding with this temperature. I prefer symptomatic treatment and general care till the fever is low grade without any systemic involvement.

As per your daughter's weight 6.6 kg, for fever she needs around 100 mg of calpol and if fever did not reduce then meftal should be 26 mg. Both doses are high and interval is less. Please give her plenty of water and ors at least 330 ml in next 4 hrs. Keep a gap of 4 - 6 hrs between doses.

My daughter has problem during potty it becomes very had stool please give some suggestion.
Constipation is a major problem in childhood if left unattended can cause serious consequences. Remember:- 1) passing motion in any position other then squatting is bad and causing small small ulceration or fissure which is commonest cause of constipation:- so avoid. Use potty chairs. 2) have plenty of raw fibres in diet and plenty of water 3) have fruits in natural form (not juices) 4) use stool softeners available in market for at least 3 days a week or till stool becomes soft. 5) constipation is vicious cycle you need to stop it somewhere.

This vaccine is absolutely safe but some babies may have fever or rash after six days.As it is a live vaccine, the fever or rash may be manifestation of mild disease but it is not at all harmful.

At the age of 2 years pre schoolers speak more than few words. I child's understanding is OK and only verbal communication. I.e expression is lagging, a speech therapist / speech pathologist will be able to guide you how to interact with the child to elicit responses and develop communication using suitable modalities. It has been observed that children who enrol in early intervention show better prognosis compared to children who seek delayed diagnosis and treatment. If there is not much lag compared to peer group, home speech stimulation will help. Otherwise speech therapist will be able to develop expressive language skills. Good luck.

You may have decrease breast milk supply so you take good nutritious diet with 2 fruits per day take 1 glass of milk with 2 tsf of lactonic granules for 2 times a day n 3-4 lit water per day as dehydration leads to low breast milk be stress free n give much time to your baby i'm sure your baby will definitely suck your milk n report me after that take care.

Dosage is correct, don't doubt on your pediatrician. But in viral upper respiratory infections don't give medicines repeatedly. Home made remedy will all that is required.
