Dear I would like to share with you that unlike our medical counterparts way of treatment - we are unable to treat toothache by medication only. There has to be cause for toothache which can only be assessed on seeing you clinically and relating your problem with the same. The clinician may require some investigations to get more details as our medical counterparts do, with a stethoscope. Immediate relief could then be at your feet or should I say mouth. When does the pain start? is it localised or generalised? for how long does the pain last before gradually coming down? what aggravates the pain and what gives you relief from the same?

I have my mouth blister problem regularly. What can I do for it.

Mouth blisters are commonly seen due to deficiency of vitamin b12 and c. I would advise you to take capsule becosule z once daily after breakfast for 3 weeks. In addition it is recommended that you rinse your mouth with chlorhexidine mouth wash before and after any meal for 3 weeks as well. If this does not help, see an ent specialist.

The toothache from cold water may be an indication of cavity in your teeth. Please get a consultation from nearby dentist to get relieved of the problem. No precautions as such but may stop taking cold things, but thats not a solution, its just a way to avoid discomfort.

Bad breath can be reduced or prevented if you: - practice good oral hygiene. - brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. - don't forget to brush the tongue, too. - replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. - use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. - see your dentist regularly -- at least twice a year. He or she will conduct an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning and will be able to detect and treat periodontal disease, dry mouth, or other problems that may be the cause of bad mouth odor. - drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist. - chewing gum (preferably sugarless) stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria.

Patients often go through pain and soreness during orthodontic treatment. One way to dull the pain is to gargle with 8 ounces of lukewarm water with one teaspoonful of salt dissolved in it. Swishing it around the mouth and them spitting it out will lessen the pain and provide relief.

Burning in mouth can be due to mouth ulcers or stomatitis. Avoid spicy and hot food. Don't take too much ice or icy water. Apply tumeric powder on ulcers if present. Consult the doctor for more details.

Dear lybrate-user, the symptoms which you have described relate to gum disease in which there are calculus, tartar, plaque deposits on the teeth and the gums become weak and swollen. There is also bleeding from the gums and foul smell from the mouth. The teeth become loose this maybe what is commonly known as pyorrhoea. You need to consult a qualified dentist and get your teeth cleaned and the gums treated.

A major cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray) to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Until then apply a desensitizing paste (sensodyne tooth paste) on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

We need more investigations (Model study, Full mouth & profile x-ray) & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need fixed / removable braces or surgical correction (Functional or cosmetic). Requirements may depends on the age, complaint, duration of the treatment & affordability. Cost of cosmetic dentistry (braces or surgical correction) varies with dentist. If you prefer surgery, it?s a short duration procedure done under general anaesthesia. Recovery time is short with absolutely no pain. However swelling will subside between 5 to 7 days. DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Hello Well, if you are suffering from some kind of infection then it may affect her. But it's actually suggested not to make oral contact when there is some lesions in mouth. So it's better if you wait. For quick results use honey on ulcer and let it flow by itself.
