Mr. lybrate-user, If ECG & Echo are normal and if you have no symptoms related any cardiac problem, TMT is not necessary at all. Taking Atorvastatin 10 mg may be useful to reduce LDL. Thanks.

I am 47, do regular exercise/ fitness and have reduced diet, shifted to pure vegetarianism, but still am gaining weight over the last one year. Is it due to change in metabolism rate or due to other reasons. Please suggest proper guidance.

Dear Lybrate User, 1. Shifting to Vegetarian Food does not guarantee weight loss. 2. Shifting to a low calorie simple diet can help you with weight loss. You should work at reducing 2-3 kgs per month, so that in one year you can be fit and healthy. 3. Metabolism slowing down can cause one or two Kgs weight gain at max. 4. As per your height and weight your BMI is 35 which means you are in Obese Class 2 category. 5. It implies you have to take immediate steps to improve your health and reduce your weight else your weight can cause other health problems. 6. You should get a complete health checkup done so that in case there are any health issues they can be identified right now. You should get these profiles done # Sugar # Thyroid # Liver # Lipid & get your BP checked. 7. After this you can consult a dietician for proper diet advice.

Avoid taking osteocalcium unless prescribed by the doctor. Take green vegetables, all milk and milk products, ragi and sesame seeds to get enough calcium and take enough vitamin D for calcium absorption. Avoid taking tea and coffee as it hinders calcium absorption.

Please tell me the diet, which I want to take it for my muscle gaining & fitness training.
Hello, egg white, carrote, milk. Pls dont go with steroids, it will build up your muscle but will effect your central nerves system indeed your brain functioning will slow down. Take a protein supplement read ingredients before you take, protein % should be more than 50% easily digestible and from natural plant source. Should also keep hormonal balancing and build up your lean muscle also. Very good for health if any degeneration in the body will also be cured. Let me know if I can help you with getting best protein source.

Gaining 10 kgs in three months is not a healthy sign. Usually problem with Gym Trainers is that their maximum focus is on weights instead of cardio. Then they will encourage you to eat a lot since you are doing gym. So while you may burn about 300-350 cals in 90 mins at Gym You tend to overeat since you have been told that you can eat whatever you want. This free-for-all eating leads to excess weight which you are facing right now. What you can do now. 1. Restrict your diet. Gyming does not mean unlimited eating. Focus more on fruits/salads/water. 2. At Gym spend at least 50-60 mins on cardio eqpt like Treadmill/ Xtrainer, Cycle. 3. You can do three stretches of 20 m cardio and do Strength/abs/Stretches in between. 4. Your Gym trainers may not like this schedule. Just explain to them that you want to focus on Cardio from now on. 5. This will help you lose weight and stay fit.

This is natural. When you start gymming after a long time, our muscles tend to bump up for some time.

Exposure to early morning sun rays are best source of active Vitamin D for our body. If you are deficient, you can start having 30 ml fresh Wheat grass juice, early morning, empty stomach and take 20-25 minutes sun bath. Try to expose maximum to sun rays.
