Hai I am 26 years old, in an accident I lost my teeth, I heard that we can regenerate teeth using stemcells of wisdom tooth, is it possible, if it is possible how much the cost will be per tooth. I have already a bridge, but I want natural looking teeth, and I know about dental implants, but I do not want to put artificial things in my mouth.

Hello regeneration of teeth using stem cells is under research and study. As of now that technique is not available, may be in another 10 years or so it may be possible. Hope that it answers your question.

Gingivitis can be treated but requires maintenance to prevent worsening of the situation. Such cases will be assessed by clinical and radiographic examination. Depending on the bone level, further management is done. Please be aware that gingivitis does not settle in one sitting. You need to see the dentist every six months and undergo procedures as and when required.

Is brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste will help keep your teeth and mouth healthy?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Is brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste will help keep your teeth and mouth healthy?
All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.

There is always an option of getting the tooth removed. But wisely you are saving it by root canal. Whatever treatment is required your doctor will update you d same. If you feel you can visit another dentist and see.

•A change in taste may result from dehydration, glossitis, a dry mouth, allergies, salivary glands infections, lack of zinc and vitamin B12, and polyps in the nose. •Others include breathing through the mouth, inflamed upper airways, and autoimmune diseases like Sjogren's syndrome and Bell's palsy. •Some injuries and traumas that cause a bitter taste include head, nerve, mouth and nose injuries, and biting your tongue. •Dental appliances such as braces, any surgery on your ear, nose, teeth or throat, and radiation therapy on your neck or head cause a bitter taste in mouth. •Gargle with water. Brush your teeth, tongue, roof of your mouth, and gums using toothpaste. Rinse your mouth with mouthwash. Drink liquids, chew sugar-free gum or mints, or suck on sour candies. Hi for yellow teeth you need to get a professional cleaning done. If that does not help then you may go for teeth whitening. Modern day dentistry allows you to fill small gaps between teeth by procedure called dental bonding. If you can send some pictures of your teeth then we are in better position to comment.

Tongue cleaning is as important as brushing and flossing. Use of a proper tongue scraper every morning will remove tongue plaque and freshen your breath.

Munching foods like apples, pears, carrots or celery after brushing can help in preventing discoloration as they trigger tooth-bathing saliva which helps in keeping the teeth whiter.
