Applying cold compresses to the painful knee is one of the best and easiest ways to reduce pain and swelling. The cold will constrict the blood vessels, reducing blood flow to the affected area and thus reducing swelling. It will also give you relief from the pain. 1.Wrap a handful of ice cubes in a thin towel. 2.Apply the compress to the affected knee area for 10 to 20 minutes. 3.Do this two or three time daily until your pain is gone. Take Mag phos 6x – 4 tabs twice daily for next 10 days.

What could be the reasons and can it be brought back to normal without medication. Also I have vitamin d deficiency (4.2) could that be the reason?

Pain in my knee joint. Which medicine is better. 1-arthocerin 2-orthotrue Plss sir prescribe me.

Erasmus Mundus Master in Adapted Physical Activity, MPT, BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Chennai
If your knee is paining then you have to rethink whether you had any injury in the previous years. I also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. As arthritis is very common if anyone would've neglected any injury in the previous years. You can take Ultrasonic therapy in one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics which would help to heal the damaged cartilages along with shortwave diathermy which would help to improve the blood circulation. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation.
