The Elusive Orgasm - Causes and Coping!

The Elusive Orgasm - Causes and Coping!

A couple of decades ago, medical professionals believed that a lot of females could not climax at all. There are a number of reasons for this. It is easy for the male to know when he has achieved an orgasm, which usually happens with ejaculation, which is quite evident. For the females, on the other hand, it is not so evident. It is a perceived feeling and while the media showcase it in a particular way, reality is far moved from it.

There are various reasons why it is very difficult to pin this down. Orgasms are not just an elusive feeling for the woman, it is an elusive topic for the medical professionals too. Read on to know some of the common causes (more beliefs or notions) about this and some simple but effective ways of managing this.

- Private topic: Girls are very shy compared to boys and both their exposure to sex education and discussion about this is limited compared to boys. We might tend to think of it as common in India alone, but this is true across a vast number of countries. We are not alone! This shyness continues into their later years too, and unless transformed by the partner, it may continue to be a topic that is shunned.

- Purpose: Sex is more deemed as a form of procreation rather than for sex. Therefore, while sex is necessary for conception, orgasm is not. This is one more reason (strange but true) that orgasm is very elusive for a woman.

- Psychological factors: It could be guilt from past relationships or fear of past abuse. It could be fear of losing control or fear of coming across as vulnerable. For any of these reasons, women can have difficulties climaxing during the act.

In men, the causes are more defined and physical in nature and include erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, retrograde ejaculation, and delayed ejaculation.

Whatever the cause of the problem, the first step in coping up with the issue is to acknowledge the issue. Being a private topic, this is not something that is going to draw the person towards medical help. However, this needs to be discussed frankly with the partner or with the doctor. Getting the partner involved removes a lot of psychological barriers (guilt, fear, anxiety, etc.) This would result in natural ironing out of issues, improving the performance of both the people involved.

If that does not happen, seeking professional help, be it medical help to correct physical issues or counselling, is the next suggestion. A frank discussion will do wonders, and what was once elusive can be well within your reach.

Tips To Prevent Sleep Disorders

Tips To Prevent Sleep Disorders

1. Maintain a healthy lifestyle such as eating well, drinking water regularly, avoiding stress and maintaining a healthy weight. Frequently, individuals develop sleep disorders due to stress or obesity.

2. Establish a regular schedule for sleep. Wake up and go to bed at the same time everyday, including weekends. Establishing a regular sleep schedule will train your body to sleep soundly on a consistent basis.

3. Avoid taking naps throughout the day. If you take a nap during the day, then you will be less tired at night, be more restless and may not sleep as deeply.

4. Abstain from smoking, drinking alcohol or ingesting caffeine because they can keep you up at night. Even though alcohol makes you sleepy, it obstructs the quality of your sleep.

5. Exercise regularly so that your body will be tired, but do not exercise for 3 to 4 hours before you go to sleep, because it may energize you.

6. Refrain from eating heavy meals for dinner, which can make you feel uncomfortable and will prevent you from sleeping well.

7. Create a bedroom that is quiet, dark and a comfortable temperature, which will promote sleep and avoid disturbances.

8. Sleep on your side with your head slightly elevated to prevent the symptoms of sleep apnea.

9. Construct a bedtime routine such as reading, meditating or bathing. Having a routine will train your body to recognize that you are preparing for sleep, which will help you to fall asleep easier.

10. Use your bedroom for sleep only. Do not work or do any other tasks in your bedroom if possible. If your bedroom is used only for sleep, then you will associate the room with sleep, which will aid in falling asleep faster and sleeping deeply.

11. Get out of bed and engage in a non-stimulating activity, such as reading until you feel sleepy again. Sometimes lying in bed when you are not able to sleep makes it more difficult to feel sleepy.

I am 26 year old, I have pyaria problem. Most of the times my gums bleeding. Also my teeth color is also gone yellow....
few advice to stop bleeding gums-- - visit to a dentist for professional cleaning once in a year - use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water to keep the area clean. - Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth.

I have acne on my face since last 6-7 years and have a very dry and sensitive skin.

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
I have acne on my face since last 6-7 years and have a very dry and sensitive skin.
Homeopathy for Dry Skin The purpose of skin care in homeopathy is to provide necessary vital nutrients to the skin to keep it nourished and moisturised. Dry skin is observed due to lack of lipids in the epidermis, formed because of excessive bathing with hot water and harsh soaps. Application of topical moisturising lotions however maybe recommended, but the underlying root cause is lack of healthy fats in the diet. Hence, consumption of olive oil, nuts, avocadoes and omega -3 rich fatty fish varieties are suggested as a part of the treatment plan for dry skin types. Aloe sap comprising of moisturising properties can be used for dry, oily and combination skin types. While Green apples could cause irritation on a dry skin, avocadoes can only worsen the condition in oily skin types. Homeopathy for Oily Skin Generally people with oily skin that is shiny in nature, often suffer from pimples and blemishes on their skin. They are also prone to blackheads. Oily skin needs regular cleansing with hot water to avoid clogging of pores. The homeopathic line of treatment for oily skin helps hormonal balance and prevents excess sebum production, reduces tendency for scar formation and hyper pigmentation, and prevents exacerbations commonly observed during menstrual cycles. Further, it also fights infections or inflammations causing redness. Tips for a Glowing Skin To retain the skin’s moisture drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water every day.Protect your skin from harmful UV radiation.Nourish your skin with moisturisers and understand your skin type.Do not choose unhealthy skin care products that ensure immediate results.Cleanse your face with the right cleanser as per ypur skin type and wash it thoroughly to extract pollutants and dirt from the surface of the skin.

Dear Lybrate user. Sex is always enjoyed if it is done with love, passion and affection. The love making time is important. It should be within 30 minutes. The more you try to extent it, the more you and your partner will be stressed and therefore the pleasure associated with orgasm will be simultaneously reduced. Therefore, limit the sexual performance to less than 30 minutes. Sex is energy consuming and your body needs proper rest and nutrition replenishment after every sex. Also keep in mind that you should provide 24 hours gap between two sexual intercourses. Sexual intercourse is not advised in the cases of stress, anxiety, physical fatigue, cough, cold etc. Take care.
