Anxiety and Its Management

Understanding Anxiety:

A vague unpleasant emotion that a person experiences in anticipation of some misfortune that might take place.
Anxiety is normal and adaptive state as it helps us prepare for danger.

Therefore, we must learn to manage anxiety. It can be problematic when we feel such in spite when there is no real danger.

Panic attacks are the body’s response to defend itself (for instance, our heart beats faster to pump blood to our muscles so we have the energy to run away or fight off danger).

Anxiety attacks are harmless, although you feel very uncomfortable and or scary. You might feel like you are dying or going crazy, but you are not. And these feelings are similar in your body if you were facing a real physical threat.

These attacks lasts only 5 to 10 minutes with peak intensity, although they sometimes feel like they go on forever. As they takes away lot of energy a feeling of exhaustion is experienced once it’s over.

Managements:

  • Relaxing Technique

  1. Calming yourself – Learn to breathe softer and easier to reduce some of the symptoms during an attack.

  2. Relaxing your body- Learn to set your body tense free – this can be done by tensing your muscles and then relaxing – this lowers overall tension and stress levels during a panic attack.

  • Positive Thinking - First identify what afraid you – note them down for instance “It will hurt me , I will die, It might remain long and forever etc., Pen them down and practice to overcome that situation.

  • Avoid overestimating about the things that may occur to you.

  • Facing the challenge – Most important step of managing anxiety is to face what fears you the most like unpleasant bodily sensation associated with attacks, avoiding situations, places, activities and so on.

  • In order to overcome these sensation and individual needs to repeatedly bring on the sensation that fears them so that over time those sensations have no longer effects to anxious.

Learning to manage anxiety requires Practice and bravery and is much like an exercise. Don't be discouraged when you start with it, as coping with anxiety is a lifelong process.

Hello the reason for the above issue most of the time is either diet is not up to the mark or exercise you do is not enough. And most of the times diet and exercise are on and off. You have to be dedicated towards losing weight, give some time for yourself start eating at home never skip meals drink enough water exercise with floor exercise. Don't get rut in a particular exercise avoid excess sugars and fizzy drinks for a detail diet plan and guidelines Consult through private text.

My blood pressure is becoming low often. I'm going for night shift work. Does it cause any problems later.

People who work night shifts or rotating shifts also often don't sleep enough, and long-term sleep deprivation is known to be bad for health. Shift work disrupts the circadian rhythm -- our internal body clock that is keyed to natural daylight and darkness. Because circadian rhythm affects how the body functions, disrupting it can throw everything out -- including our cardiovascular system, metabolism, digestion, immune system, and hormonal balance. You need to manage your low bp in the night shift by- Eat more protein, fewer carbs during your shift. Not surprisingly, night shift workers often struggle with feelings of drowsiness and making the right food choices can help. .you can take coconut water with you. Avoid sugar and sweetened beverages. Stop Unhealthy Snacking. Stick to a Schedule. Cut Down The Caffeine. Exercise When You Can be hydrated and maintain electrolyte balance take proper rest just follow these simple things. And for more queries contact us.

Get an ultrasound of breast to look for some swelling within tissue of breast, armpit is tail end of breast tissue, mammography detects tumors in breast but it has radiation risks, fibrofatty fragmants can be ignored but make sure that they do not collect together to cause lumps.

Dear lybrate user. I am sure that you consulted your child specialist about this. What was his advise. Delay in speech is normal upto an age of 2 and half years. Even though there is speech delay, 2 year old child should speak some words, for sure. I suggest you to have a detailed discussion with your child specialist. Take care.

Hi,
I am Jaya (25, female) suffering from piles I want to know an immediate remedy or cure to this disease.
Hi, you cannot expect piles to be cured immediately. It takes about a month or two to get cured if it is in 1st or 2nd stage. Take cap. Rectone 1-1-1 after food with buttermilk and tab. Anuloma ds 1-2 tabs at bedtime with hot water. Take tab. Bolabaddha ras 1-1-1 after food whenever there is bleeding after passing stools. Apply pilon ointment before and after passing stools. Consume high fiber diet and drink 2-3 litres of water per day.

Dear lybrate-user, according to your height your weight should be 72 kg to 76 kg. You required to loose only 5 kg, that you can loose easily by brisk walk in morning as well as maintain your diet with salads and fruits. If you will not get results in 15 days, I can suggest you herbal formulations. But first try with your own as suggested.
