It could be a ring worm infection 1. Thoroughly dry the area after taking bath and keep it dry and sweat free. Apply powder in the area 2.Use loose cotton under wear instead of tight synthetic one 3. Change the under wear daily and use clean and washed one 4.Maintain personal hygiene 5..Apply panderm plus ointment twice daily for (1-2 week) 6. Take one tablet of levocetrizine at bed time for itching

This is sanju from india. Age is 25. What should I do for getting softness in my hairs? Please help.

MD - Dermatology
Dermatologist, Pathanamthitta
firstly, stop using smoothing products on your hair. They vil worsen your hair. Your hair needs a lot of your attention and care. Wash hair occasionly. Use lukewarm water, not too hot, not too cold. Shampoo hair twice or thrice a week and not more. Use very mild shampoos suitable for dry hair. Massage scalp to improve circulation and hair health. Eat right. Eat plenty of pulses, meat, fish, milk and milk products. Dry hair naturally and not with blowdryers. Dry hair with towel. Avoid crimping, perming straightening and curling hair devices. Avoid repeated colouring and bleaching of hair. Protect hair from excess sunlight with caps. Exercise regularly. Practice yoga to destres .

I am 23 yr old girl, I have unwanted facial hairs please suggest what should I do? If I go for laser treatment is it good? or after treatment I don't get facial hairs again?

MD- Dermatology & Venereology,Leprosy , International Fellowship in Dermatology, MBBS
Dermatologist, Gurgaon
Hi ! laser hair removal is a great way to get rid of unwanted facial hair. But before that a detailed evaluation to rule out any underlying hormonal or other abnormalities. These need to be tackled simultaneously to get the best results. So go for a dermatology consultation. Lasers help in long term hair removal and maintenance sessions are needed. Take care.

I m suffering from hair loss problem for last few years. If I do not wash my hair for single day there is a itchiness over my scalp wid small acne. Wht should I do?

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
Hairfall in men has its genesis in androgenetic alopecia, or Male Baldness which happens due to sensitivity of dihydrotestosterone (a by-product of testosterone). Men get receding hairlines and baldness due to hereditary factors. Stress and lifestyle also has a big role to play in hairfall in men. Higher intake of proteins coupled with exercises can help put a check on hairfall.. Most of us dread the thought of breaking endless hair strands each time we comb or brush. With the winter season setting in, dandruff problems go up, as the scalp gets dry, further aggravating hair loss in most people. If you love your hair, like I do, I am sure you must have tried every possible way of preventing hair loss. If you still haven’t seen any satisfactory results, switch to homeopathy. Homeopathy is a form of medicine which mainly aims at triggering the healing process in one’s body. Homeopathy offers quite a few medicines for treating hair loss. To know more about the treatment of hairfall, consult me on Lybrate and get all the solutions on your smartphone.

Apply almond oil daily on your scalp at night with your finger tips and do massage. After that wear a cap and wash it in the morning. You should take protein in your daily diet. Do it for one month.

Hello Doctor, I have lost 50% of my hair over the last six months period and I do not see any new hair coming even after following good deit. I have been applying egg white thrice a week from 1.5 months but I don't see any use of this. I am very scared and worried of this situation. Is it possible to regrow my hair back with any medicines or home remedies? If so please suggest them. Does onion juice really help in regrowing hair back? Or if the only way to regrow hair is through transplantation then suggest me how to choose the clinic. Thanks in advance.

You can take Homoeopathic medication for the complete and permanent relief from the complaint of Ringworms. Take Bacillinum200 / 1dose Follow up after a week or so to determine whether you need repetition of the medicine or not. Also avoid using ointments, instead you can apply coconut oil twice daily.

My friend is having constant hair loss and for that sake he is getting disturbed what shall we do?

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Is your hair loss accompanied with greying of hair and have they become very thin? your hair needs a very high protein well-rounded diet. Hair and nails are the last organs to get nutrition in the body, hence only if all the organs get sufficient nutrition and proteins, only then the remaining nutrition would be used for hairs. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. Hence a therapeutic diet prescribed by a registered dietitian can help a lot in hair growth. Besides diet excessive stress, current/past dandruff and some medication are conclusively known to retard hair growth and promote hair loss. - cut down on the use of hair spray, hair gels, and styling creams that contain harsh chemical ingredients, which can dry out the scalp and cause the formation of flakes. Also harsh treatments such as perms, colours, relaxers etc take a toll on the health of your hair. - avoid changing your shampoo and conditioner constantly. Stick to one good mild cleansing shampoo for six months before changing. - excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, rain water and dust without proper protection makes the hair dry, brittle and limp. Use a live in conditioner during the rains to protect it from the humidity and wash and oil it regularly to maintain a healthy scalp. I may also prescribe medications like biotin or minox. That are proven to help in hair growth and repair.

I got small bumps of pea sized on my balls which were too itchy, what is best medicine for this?

B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition, Nutrition Certification,Registered Dietitian
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Delhi
These bumps on penis are mostly benign and self resolve. These are called fordyce spots which are actually clogged sebaceous pores from which sebum (a type of sweat) secretes. This sebum getting clogged and and cumulated leads to these bumps most of the times. All a person needs is wait and see. Never pop, pick or poke them.
