Respected sir, I am suffering from teeth pain (left upper side, there is no black spot on teeth, but it very painful, give suggestion.

BDS
Dentist, Raipur
Kindly get an x-ray done of the tooth having pain. At times caries are not visible on the occlusal surface but may be present between the embrasure area ie space between 2 teeth. That can be checked by taking an x-ray. May be you will have to get root canal treatment done followed by a crown or cap. Till then you can take a pain killer like tab ketorol dt 2 tablets dissolved in water. Brush your teeth twice daily using correct brushing technique to maintain your oral hygiene.

Recently after reading the ECG, Chief Physician asked us to consult a Cardiologist. He advised for taking a Echogram. Doctor said that there is nothing to worry at all about the Heart but the Heart is slightly larger due to the fact that my wife is a BP patient for over 15 years, taking amlopres L regularly. He said BP patients do generally have a slightly bigger heart. My wife is having gum problems as well she is not having arousal and desire. Do you want me to do any specific Test for Heart functioning and if so what are the tests to be carried out. My Wife is 58 years old.

General Physician, Mumbai
Dear lybrateuser, -if the cardiologist has not recommended any further tests then not required -she should do exercise like regular brisk walking for about an hour on most days of the week to reduce her weight -avoid fried, junk food & amount of daily saturated & trans fat in diet, more fruits & vegetables in daily diet -do check for her blood sugar levels as her probems as mentioned by you could be due to high sugar levels or side effect of bp drugs she is taking -also get her checked up by a dentist for her gum problem.

Hello Doctor, I am a boy of 18 years old and have yellow teeth. I brush twice daily. What could I do to get my teeth whiten? Thank You.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Hi. The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

If its front tooth than ceramic or zirconia is the best option. If its back tooth and not visible you can go for metal or ceramic. Cost depends on location. But reasonable prices may vary place to place. Zirconia- 8000 starting ceramic-3500 onwards metal 2000 onwards.

I am 67 all my teeth are intact. The front teeth upper and lower are a little bit projecting. At this age is it possible to set it right. How to remove stains on the teeth? While chewing /masticating the food the side teeth touches the flesh of the mouth and gets pain. One dentist said slight chipping of the teeth so that it will not harm the sides of the mouth. Pl advise.

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Regarding projecting teeth problem at this age the orthodontic treatment is not advisable. About your 2nd complain trimming can be done if possible and required. Try to eat at slowly and do some exercises like holding water and air in your mouth so that cheeks get stretched a little. Take care.

Hi sir this is raju and I have big problem. My teeth was very pain after every 2-3 days. So I press request answer my question and help & I do not kow what I problem please help.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
The type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. • If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. • If your toothache is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. • If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. • If your toothache can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

Because of not so good structure of my teeth, I got braces on my upper and lower teeth. They gave me many mouth ulcer got treated somehow but now there is a deep hole in one of my ulcer as the wire of my brace cut through it while speaking. Help and also tell me the best way of treating ulcer. Thnx in advance.

BDS
Dentist, Kolar
Many with braces face prob of dental ulcers. To avoid ulcers request your dentist fr some clear wax which has to b stuck on the brackets. This prevents rubbing of sharp edges of brackets against your oral skin. Apply dentogel oral ointment twice to thrive daily on ulcers. Gargle using betadine mouth wash twice daily. Avoid spicy food, tea, coffee, aereated drinks. Rinse your mouth well after each meal n maintain hygiene. Ulcers generally take arround 10-14 days to heal.

Brushing once a day is ok. Wrong. Brushing should be twice a day.

Dental healthcare of Young Ones
--even before your baby starts teething, run a clean, damp washcloth over the gums to clear away harmful bacteria.
-- massage the gum pads of your infants during teething, as it will help the smooth eruption of the teeth without irritation.(as massaging will increase the blood flow in the area).
--once your baby gets teeth, brush them with an infant toothbrush. Use water and a tiny bit of fluoride toothpaste (about the size of a grain of rice). You can use fluoride or non fluoride toothpaste (mind it keep the size of toothpaste about the size of rice grain because you still want to minimize any toothpaste that is swallowed.)
--around age 2, your child should learn to spit while brushing. Avoid giving your child water to swish and spit because this might make swallowing toothpaste more likely.
--kids ages 3 and up should use only a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste.
--always supervise kids younger than 6 while brushing, as they are more likely to swallow toothpaste.

I have a pain my wisdom teeth and can I take ketrol dt tablet for pain. How much dose I can use it.

MD - Homeopathy, BHMS
Homeopath, Vadodara
I can't advise about the allopathic medicines much. But any NSAIDs should not be taken more than thrice a day if i am not wrong... As a homoeopath i can suggest homoeopathic medicine... Mag Carb 30 tds. For easy eruption of teeth and pain.
