Respected doctor. Is it true that teeth cleaning and polishing weakens them and creates gaps between tooth. Thanks.

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Hyderabad
Hi mah, cleaning and polishing does not weaken your teeth. Gaps are created by the debris which forms inbetween the teeth. so when we remove the debris it is seen as gaps.

Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day inter dentally. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke. Check your mouth regularly for any unusual sores and lesions. Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and have regular thorough dental check-ups where your dentist will look at the health of both your teeth and your mouth Most importantly, do not delay seeking immediate advice from a dentist or medical professional if you notice any unusual symptoms or sores on your lips or in your mouth.

It depends how much reduction required to correct your uneven teeth. Slight amount of enamel reduction does not create any problem but more amount of reduction is not beneficial. It create lot of problem.

I have toothache from some days & I am using sensodine toothpaste but still I have pain in my tooth, so what should I have to do for heeling.

BDS

Treatment dental pain teeth pain may be due to various reasons like infection, sensitivity or trauma. If your teeth is decayed it is better to get it filled or treated by a dentist. If you are opting for root canal treatment do not forget to get a crown on the effected tooth. If you want to go for only medicinal treatment so let me tell you only medicine are not going to be very effective untill you get this treated by a dentist.

I have go to toilet for many times a night how can I solve this problem Also my mouth gets very dry please suggest a solution.

BDS
Dentist,
Hi, from what you have mentioned above, it seems that you have got diabetes which is usually associated with the above symptoms. It is advisable to consult a diabetologist and get your condition treated. For dry mouth, you need to increase saliva secretion in your mouth. This can be achieved by increasing your fluid intake and by drinking lot of water. Sugar free gums are available in the market which can also help in increasing salivary production.

I have a broken teeth in the front is it possible to fix a broken teeth? How much will it cost to put a cap in the broken part? Root canal is not needed.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
If the tooth breaks, have the tooth contoured. Fill the crack in. Place a crown on your tooth. If the tooth has been badly damaged and the nerve or pulp is exposed, the dentist may have to perform a root canal to save the tooth. If the tooth has been severely damaged, it may have to be extracted.

Gums bleeding is due to infection in gums. Get scalling done by dentist. Take vit c tab for one week. Use proper brushing techniques. Brush, floss n use mouthwash twice daily. Massage your gums with your finger tips after brushing. Keep your tongue clean. Rinse your mouth well after each meal. Visit your dentist for dental checkups every 6 months to detect n prevent dental probs.

Chewing a sugarless gum after your meal for around 20 minutes freshens your breath and also make the leftover food particles cling to it.

My mom 43years old, suffering from severe teeth pain. What precautions should be taken?

Give her a pain killer now and then consult a dentist. Pain killer is only going to give her temporary relief. The cause of pain can only be found out after a check up.
