My baby is 15 month old. On Saturday he started vomiting and had fever. We went to our doctor and he gave medicines. Also informed us that he might have loose motions. And we have to do stool test. And yesterday he started having loose motions. Now our relatives are saying that all these are happening because of molar teeth eruptions. Is this true?

well teeth eruption per se is not the cause ..reason is habit of putting eveything in mouth while teeth eruption is happening.which brings lot many viruses in tummy.eventually leading to infections. so, 1.frequent hand washing and good hygeine is the only answer. 2.give probiotics 3.immunize the baby on time.

Weight for age is less. Should be around 9.5 -10 kg. Give high calory food like butter, cheese, ghee, avoid biscuits and cerelac. Give sprouted pulses. Give dry fruits, jaggery etc.

There are many changes in habits occur at this adolescent age due to hormonal changes which some time disturbs one's earlier living. Proper Counselling is necessary by pediatrician or psychiatrist. Right now don't make him conscious and intelligently try not to leave him alone as far as possible.

Is she on total very frequent breast feeding baby. Breast milk quantity goes down and suitably reduce breast frequency as per age in moths. If child is one year old ideally feed on breast just two times that too for ten to fifteen minutes on each breast.

Do not worry. It takes time for fever to settle down. Mostly fever settles down within 48 to 72 hours with use of age appropriate antibiotics in bacterial pneumonia. Your doctor may switch to other antibiotics with better coverage if fever does not settle. Trust your doctor. I am sure your child shall recover fast in couple of days. Best wishes Arun shah Muzaffarpur.

Babies have limited means of communication. They can gurgle, they can sometimes smile, and they can cry. And cry they do ? sometimes for hours on end. This can sometimes be extremely frustrating, especially when your little one doesn?t respond to any of your efforts to stop the crying.

Some of the reasons why babies cry include hunger, a need to be held, feeling tired, feeling too cold or too hot, in need of a nappy change, or because they?re feeling sick and need something to make them feel better.

Hello Doctor. My son is 16 months now. He is extremely hyperactive child, showing the following symptoms- 1) He doesn't like to play with toys. He just likes climbing on tables, chairs and window grills.  2) If we get him new toys, he will just see it for a few minutes and then throw it away.  3) He wants to be out of the house all time. He cry's to go with any unknown person when they are leaving the house.  4) If we keep him out, he will just start walking. He will not even care to see if we are there with him or not.  5) He is very impatient for something he likes. For example he is very restless while feeding him oranges. He will not allow you to peel it. He just wants it immediately and will hit you if you don't give him fast. 5) Although we keep talking to him, till now he doesn't utter any words, no actions like'bye' etc. He only yells aloud. 6) He just cannot sit in one place and needs someone constantly. If you don't play with him even for a few minutes, he will put his head on the floor and start moaning in frustration. 7) He has been a troublesome child right from birth. Hardly used to sleep for just a few minutes during the whole day and night. Now, although his sleeping pattern has improved during the nights. During the day he still sleeps less. Probably around 1 hour if at all he sleeps. 8) When he was smaller, around 9-12 months, he used to watch television advertisements with great attention. He would not blink his eyes even if you nudge him or pat him lightly on his head. This is the only thing that grabs his attention, even now. Doctor, is my child showing signs of any disorder or is it too early to predict? Does he need any treatment? please help. Thanks.
