Hello- Hot water bath is good for health if the temperature is cooler as in the hill stations. Since you belong to temperate coastal area (mumbai) it is not advisable for you sexually, to take hot water bath daily. Yes testicles are temperature sensitive and temperature greater then room temperature can arrest the sperm formation in the body.

Hye, Thanks for the query.  There is a chance that there could be some lifestyle habit that is affecting your hormonal balance. Firstly understand that maintaining a hormonal vibrancy is more so a matter of a healthy lifestyle. No amount of supplementation will work if your lifestyle,  including your diet, exercise and stress is managed well. The following are some tips you can follow. Get enough sleep.  Maintain a healthy weight.  Stay active and exercise regularly.  Avoid unwanted stress. Avoid simple sugars like excess of white sugar, maida and cornflour. Include foods like sweet potato, eggs, potato, sorghum, yoghurt, nuts like macadamia or Brazil or almonds, olive oil, coconut oil, clarified butter, oysters, raisins, mushrooms, avocado, custard apple,  pomagranates,  onions, parsley, garlic and ginger in your diet. Avoid alcohol and smoking.

Early ejaculation is a common problem. There is nothing to get frustrated- simple solution- sex therapy, sex exercise and drugs after consulting doctor. Small sized penis is not a big issue often size does not matter for satisfaction.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism. Master bastion does not itself cause weight loss. It's actually the lack of attention to other activities and diet that does. Anything in excess is not good. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eating about 6 meals a day will improve appetite. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Involve yourself in some creative hobbies or sports or exercise. Even if you were to take medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation. You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal first.

You could develop OCD but right now it is obsession and a fixation that just won? T leave you. Now you can get all these contaminated items cleaned, changed, or removed. But if your mind wants to obsess, it will find something or the other and it can easily and convincingly obsess about it, instead. You have a serious problem with unexpressed fear that is finding this form as a way of expressing it. The bottom line of the obsession is this fear. It has refined itself to hygiene aspects and worries itself about being infected. Meet with a counselor and discuss your fear, for a long time to come, going back into your childhood perhaps to trace its origins. You could also develop a checklist method of verifying that everything is really clean or that you are doing the right thing yourself to ensure that you are not contaminated. But this would mean that you really believe in your obsession! So please trust that, if you have been brought up normally, you have the immune system to combat most infections. The earlier you deal with this, the less complicated it will become over time.

Vaginal Discharge - Complications and Risks Associated with it

MBBS, MD - Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Advanced Infertility
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Vaginal Discharge - Complications and Risks Associated with it

Vaginal discharge is a normal physiological phenomenon, in which the consistency of vaginal discharge varies throughout the cycle. Healthy vaginal discharge is clear or white in colour, with normal and non-offensive odour. Sometimes right before menstruation, your vaginal discharge may hold a brownish tinge.

The consistency of the discharge varies mostly on the hormonal changes in the body. When the levels of oestrogen are low, the cervical mucus that is liberated as discharge may be perceived as sticky and thick. When the oestrogen levels rise up, the discharge becomes wetter, more stretchy and clearer. Also, after ovulation, the consistency becomes thicker again.

When should you worry about the vaginal discharge?

  1. Greenish, greyish or absurdly brownish in colour

  2. When the discharge appears thicker than normal

  3. When the discharge is more than normal

  4. When it smells absurd like fishy or rotten meat like smell

  5. Pus like discharge

  6. White with cottage cheese like discharge

  7. When the discharge is associated with bloody discharge and burning sensation, rash or soreness.

Diseases caused by vaginal discharge

  1. Yeast Infection: The vaginal discharge is cottage cheese like and may be associated with itching of the vulva. This is also called as thrush. It can be treated easily with antifungal medications such as Fluconazole or Cotrimoxazole.

  2. Vaginitis: Yellowish offensive discharge, which may be profuse, associated with itching and abdominal pain.

  3. Trichomoniasis: This disease is asymptomatic in most cases and you may notice purulent discharge. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.

Dull & Lifeless Hair - 10 Ayurvedic Ways to Treat It!

Hair is one of the most attractive aspects of a person. A head full of shiny, dark hair can turn heads while head with dry, lifeless, damaged hair has lesser appeal. There are definitely simple, but effective ways of inducing life back into the hair. Read on to know some of the most common causes of dry, damaged hair and how it can be reversed to enjoy healthy, shiny hair.

Causes: Nutritional deficiencies, excessive exposure to the sun, air-conditioned environments, excessive use of hair dryers, unhealthy hair products, can all affect the hair, making it dry and dull. Hair is so affected can be lifeless, break easily, have split ends, and fall easily. The shine and texture are affected and the scalp also lacks moisture and feels dry.

Treatment: Lifeless, dull hair need not be a reason to lose sleep. There are simple measures which would be readily available in most homes, have been used since ages, and have proven beneficial beyond doubts.

  1. Eggs: Rich in proteins, eggs are one of the healthiest products for hair care. They promote the growth of keratin which is essential for hair growth.
  2. Lime: Lime has antibacterial properties and is rich in vitamin C. This helps clear scalp infections and promotes hair growth, which is healthier.
  3. Olive oil: It reduces dandruff, treats split ends, and restores shine and smoothness of the hair.
  4. Coconut oil: One of the most commonly used hair oils, it moisturises the hair and reduces dandruff and restores shine in the hair.
  5. Curry leaves: Adding curry leaves to coconut oil and warming it to apply on the scalp helps immensely in restoring life to hair. A warm towel can be used to wrap the hair when the oil is left in place for about 15 to 30 minutes.
  6. Henna: Rosemary or henna as it is commonly called is another way to condition hair and restore the shine and lustre back. It strengthens the hair cuticles and makes it less prone to breakage.
  7. Aloe vera: The gel from a freshly cut aloe vera plant has antibacterial and antifungal properties, which help restore life back in damaged hair. It also reduces itching,
  8. Avocado: In addition to preventing hair damage, it also reduces hair loss and improves hair health.
  9. Olive oil: This reduces dandruff, and so improves infections which could be affecting hair health.
  10. Hibiscus: This helps repair damaged hair, improves volume, and reduces hair loss too. The leaves and the flower are used as a paste that is left for about an hour and rinsed off.

In addition to all these, gentle brushing, not brushing wet hair, proper diet, and good sleep are equally important for shiny, healthy hair.
