I have dark spots on face and big pimples too what should I do to clear them and get healthy and fairer skin.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

I have dark spots on face and big pimples too what should I do to clear them and get healthy and fairer skin.
Homoeopathic cream ANTIMARKS CREAM ( BIOVALLEY) Apply twice daily in circular fashion Lemon Juice A quick and easy solution is lemon juice. Lemons have vitamin C that can lighten dark spots on your face. It’s easy to apply. 1. Put some fresh lemon juice on a cotton ball and rub it directly on the affected skin area. 2. Allow it to dry and then wash it off with plain water. 3. Continue applying this dark spot removal home remedy for at least two weeks to get the desired result. If you have delicate or sensitive skin, you can dilute the lemon juice with plain water, rosewater, or honey. You can also use lime juice to get rid of black spots, applying it in the same manner as described above. 2. Buttermilk Buttermilk is also beneficial in getting rid of dark spots. Like lemon juice, it also helps fade blemishes and black spots but without causing burning sensation. 1. Take four teaspoons of buttermilk. 2. Add two teaspoons of fresh tomato juice. 3. Mix the two ingredients (both have excellent bleaching properties) and then apply. 4. Wash it off after 15 minutes. The lactic acid in milk too, will gradually reduce skin pigmentation, and brighten and tone your overall skin complexion. So, if you do not have buttermilk, simply apply soak a cotton ball in milk and dab it directly on your spots. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash it off Put milk on a cotton ball and dab it directly on your spots. Repeat this procedure twice daily for four to five weeks. You can also prepare a solution by mixing milk and honey and apply the solution to your dark spots, leaving it on for 10 minutes.

I am 30 weeks pregnant and two days ago I had gas problem. My doc prescribed pantop and duvadilan. It helped with gas but then I started feeling pain in my naval area. My doc said I had umbilical hernia. It's quite painful in my case but she says it cannot be cured as I am pregnant. Also she examined me internally and says baby has come down a little bit and prescribed rest for two weeks. I have following queries 1. I am doing very less physical activity and mostly lying on bed with pillow under my feet. Can this help in umbilical hernia. 2. I am bothered by the pain at night and cannot sleep properly. Also I am quite afraid of this hernia and how it might impact my baby. Can it be cured on its own. What all shall I avoid or do in order to cure it. 3. My doc says that the pains that I had was not because of gas and should have felt like labour pains. I am not sure how to distinguish the hernia pain and labour pain. Also please let me know how common is hernia during pregnancy? Am I the only one having it or is it a common problem?

Hernia does occur during pregnancy if there has been underlying weakness pre exhisting. Fotlr its treatment is to wait and watch only till delivery. Watch over for size of swelling at umbilicus if any. Umblical hernia pain is usually not very severe. The pain you are having may be labour pains. An examination by surgeon will help in confirmation of these issues.

Hi lybrate-user Gas formation is normal if it is slight. If the gas passage is more than normal like after every meal and is smelly then the food is not digested properly and it is not normal. You should chew your food atleast 32 times each bite and do not drink water immediately after a meal. Give a gap of atleast 1 hr. If gas still persists take homoeopathic medicine for it. It gives wonderful results for it. For consultation message privately. Takecare.

Shaking Hands Can be a Sign of Thyroid Disease

DM - Neurology
Neurologist,
Shaking Hands Can be a Sign of Thyroid Disease

Are you aware that shaking hands can be an early sign of thyroid disease?

Yes, that's right! Even in patients who have a low thyroid function, shaking of hands can appear when the dose of thyroxine becomes too high - and it can be a reliable indicator to titrate the dose (which means, if an increase in dose of thyroxine makes the hands start shaking, then the dose should be reduced). In hyperthyroidism (or excessive thryoxine hormone synthesis states in the body), one of the cardinal symptoms is shaking of the hands.

So how do you know for sure it is due to thyroid hormone excess? And how do you differentiate this from other kinds of tremor?

Hye,  Thanks for the query. There’s no overnight fix when it comes to healthy weight loss, but you can adjust your lifestyle to promote quick, natural weight loss for the benefit of your health and your appearance. Successful, long-term weight management needs to focus on more than the food you eat and the pounds you lose. It needs to focus on your overall health. Reshape your body and your lifestyle by adopting healthy habits and breaking unhealthy ones. Replace all processed foods in your diet with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy, lean meats, eggs, legumes, nuts, seeds and seafood. Focus on the variety of whole, unprocessed foods you can eat instead of dwelling on the junk food you eliminated from your diet. Eat smaller portions at every meal and avoid going back for seconds. Take a smaller scoop of rice,  half of a piece of chicken instead of a whole piece and one less egg in your morning omelet, for example. Make time for breakfast every morning. Eating breakfast helps prevent overeating and is a habit of people who successfully lose weight. Pack to-go meals instead of eating convenience foods when you’re not home. Store foods like chopped fruits and vegetables or cooked grains, legumes, eggs and meats in your refrigerator so you always have something to grab when you’re in a rush. Buy fresh vegetables and fruits from the grocery store if you forget to bring healthful food from home. When you can’t avoid dining at a restaurant, opt for a salad as a starter, and always ask for the dressing on the side. Clear soups, lean meats, seafood and grain-based dishes like roti, whole grain bread are other good choices. Exercise for 30 to 60 minutes at least three times per week to build muscle and burn more calories. Pilates, strength training, aerobics, swimming, dancing and yoga or a sport like football are ideal choices. If you’re new to exercising, start with brisk walking and jogging. Adopt physically demanding hobbies like bicycling, hiking, jogging, power walking to promote faster weight loss. If you don’t have time for new hobbies, increase your physical activity with things like walking the dog, playing with the kids or jogging instead of driving to a nearby store or taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Weigh yourself weekly and record your weight. Adjust your diet and physical activity according to the progress you’re making.

During labor, the cervix dilates to allow a baby to pass through the endocervical (birth) canal. Like any tissue in the body, the cervix can become inflamed for a variety of reasons.

Inflammation of the cervix is calledcervicitis. According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, more than half of all women will be affected by this condition at some point in their adult lives (PubMed Health, 2012).

The most common cause of this inflammation is an infection. Infections that cause cervicitis may be caused by sexual activity, but are not always. The condition is typically categorized as acute or chronic. Acute cervicitis involves a sudden onset of symptoms. Chronic cervicitis lasts for several months.

Acute cervicitis is typically caused by a sexually transmitted infection, such as:

herpeschlamydiatrichomoniasishuman papillomavirus (HPV)gonorrhea

It can also be caused by an infection due to other factors, such as an allergy to spermicide or condom latex, a cervical cap or diaphragm, or sensitivity to the chemicals found in tampons. Regular vaginal bacteria can also cause cervicitis.

Chronic cervicitis is common after childbirth. It may also occur during pregnancy because increased hormone levels cause increased blood flow to the cervix.

What Are the Symptoms of Cervicitis?

Some women are asymptomatic, but when symptoms are present, they can include:

abnormal vaginal bleedingpersistent gray or white vaginal discharge that may have an odorvaginal painpain during intercoursea feeling of pelvic pressurebackaches

If cervicitis progresses, the cervix can become very inflamed. In some cases, it can develop an open sore. Pus-like vaginal discharge is a symptom of cervicitis of this severity.

Part 3 of 6

Complications of Cervicitis

Cervicitis caused by gonorrhea or chlamydia can move to the uterine lining and fallopian tubes, causing pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). PID causes additional pelvic pain, discharge, and fever. PID that is untreated can cause fertility problems.

How Do I Know If I Have Cervicitis?

If you have symptoms of cervicitis, see your doctor for an accurate diagnosis. The symptoms of cervicitis can also be signs of other vaginal conditions. Sometimes, cervicitis is discovered during a routine exam if you aren’t having any symptoms.

There are multiple ways cervicitis can be diagnosed.

Pelvic Exam

For this test, your doctor will insert a gloved finger into your vagina while also applying pressure to the abdomen. This way, he or she can detect abnormalities of the pelvic organs, which include the cervix.

Pap Test

For this test, also called a Pap smear, your doctor will take a swab of cells from your vagina and cervix. These cells will then be tested for abnormalities.

Cervical Biopsy

This test is often performed only if your Pap smear detected abnormalities. For this test, also called a colposcopy, your doctor will insert a speculum into your vagina. He or she will then take a cotton swab and gently clean the vagina and cervix of mucus residue. Then, the doctor will direct a light and colposcope (a type of microscope) at your vagina to examine the area. He or she will then take tissue samples from any areas that look abnormal.

Culture of Cervical Discharge for Microscopic Examination

Your doctor may also decide to take a sample of the discharge from your cervix. He or she will then place the sample under a microscope. This test can determine if you have a yeast infection (candidiasis), bacterial vaginosis, or trichomoniasis, among other conditions.

Tests for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) may also be performed. If a specific infection is contributing to your cervicitis, the infection will be treated. This should heal the cervical inflammation.

Part 5 of 6

How Is Cervicitis Treated?

There is no standard treatment for cervicitis. Your doctor will determine the best course for you based on several factors, including your overall health, your medical history, the severity of your symptoms, and the extent of the inflammation.

Commonly used treatments include:

antibiotics to kill any infectionswatchful waiting, especially after childbirthcryosurgery or silver nitrate in severe cases when there is damage to cervical cells (Cryosurgery involves using freezing temperatures to freeze abnormal cells in the cervix, which then destroys them. Silver nitrate may also be used to destroy abnormal cells.)

When the cause of your cervicitis is determined, it can be treated. Without treatment, however, cervicitis can last for years, causing painful intercourse and worsening symptoms.

Can I Prevent Cervicitis?

There are ways to reduce your risk of developing cervicitis. Abstaining from sexual intercourse will protect you from cervicitis caused by an STI. Reduce your risk of contracting an STI by using a condom every time you have sexual intercourse.

Avoiding chemical solutions, such as douches and scented tampons, can reduce your risk of an allergic reaction. If you insert anything into your vagina, such as a tampon or diaphragm, follow the directions for when to remove it and how to clean it.

Thank you - Speak to Doctor for more clarification.

I am facing the problem of premature (early) ejaculation how can I over come from this. Is there I need any treatment or by medicine.

BHMS
Homeopath,
I am facing the problem of premature (early) ejaculation how can I over come from this. Is there I need any treatment...
Dear lybrate user, kindly note that if you are unmarried & indulge in sexual relation after an interval of minimum 7 days then you are bound to discharge quickly. But that does not imply that you have any disease. It occurs due to loss of control of the muscles of penis. Normally it is seen that when a person does sexual intercourse daily he gains control over the muscles of penis & can stay longer during sex. You can try allopathic dejac-t tablet for your problem of premature ejaculation. Take one tablet just one hour before sex. If you cannot find dejac-t in your local allopathic retail shop then search for any medicine containing dapoxetine hydrochloride & tidalfil as its composition. But before taking any medicine kindly notice whether you are having a second erection within 15 minutes of ejaculation for the first time. If you are not experiencing any erection within 15 minutes of ejaculation then you are surely suffering from erectile dysfunction. There will be a change of medication in this case. To get rid of erectile dysfunction you could try ayurvedic gerivit forte capsule. Take one capsule just one hour before sex. Along with medicines you can also try a home therapy to boost your sexual performance. Soak 4-5 dry dates (khurma khajur) in a cup of lukewarm milk before going to bed daily. On waking up next morning eat those soaked dry dates & discard the milk. Repeat the process daily. This therapy often gives effective result within 15 days. There are many conventional allopathic sexual pills in market such as adegra, viagra, penegra etc. Refrain yourself from using such pills as those pills contain a steroid called sildenafil. This steroid has a unique temporary effect on erectile problems. Patients using these pills for first time often report that their penis remain strong even after ejaculation. Such effects leads the patients to use sildenafil for prolonged course of time as they often feel that a full erection is possible only after taking sildenafil. Moreover it is very low cost & easy availability of this steroid has made it quite common as sexual medicine. But the bitter truth is prolonged use of sildenafil will permanently disable the normal physiological process behind erection & will render your body to become solely dependent upon sildenafil for erection. As a result you won't feel any slightest normal erection without taking sildenafil. This is an irreversible condition & it cannot be treated by any means. Once you attain this condition you become a life-time customer of that steroid sildenafil because you have to take sildenafil in order to satisfy your partner. As prevention is always better than cure I would advise you to check the composition of any sexual pills before buying. Discard any sexual pills which contains sildenafil in its composition. There are other compositions like tidalfil, citadil etc which gives unique result than sildenafil.
