Hi if your belly is lowering your self-confidence and giving you sleepless nights, here are the tips to give you flatter and fitter tummy. 1. Add fiber to your diet constipation distends your belly, add veggies and fruits to your daily diet to relieve you of constipation, reduce intakes of refined cereals like maida, noodles, pasta and whole grains instead add dalia and oats. This would relieve you of constipation and bloat to give you a flat tummy. 2. Decrease sodium intake sodium retains water in the body and hence your belly swells up, reduce intake of junk food as it contains a lot of sodium. Stop adding extra salt to dishes, also packaged and processed food contains a lot of salts so better avoid it. 3. Increase potassium foods rich in potassium help you get rid of balancing sodium, fruits are very good source of potassium, adding them to their daily diet not only provides this nutrient but also increase the fiber content of your daily intake 4. Avoid sugar alcohols we do not completely digest these low-calorie sweeteners usually found in flavoured low-calorie drinks, diabetic and sugar-free foods. Bacteria in a large intestine ferment during gas and distension so check food labels and avoid sorbitol, xylitol and lacitol. 5. Increase liquids drinking plenty of liquids helps flush out toxins from the body. Keep yourself hydrated with at least 8 glasses of water, also include lassi, coconut, water, lemon water in your daily routine. Make sure to include homemade soups only, as packaged soups are not that nutritious and contain added sodium in them. 6. Carbonated beverages and alcohol these give you extended bellies and your dream of flat tummy falls flat. Alcohol gives you empty calories with zero nutrition. 7. Probiotic curds include low fat curd in your diet regime as it contains live bacteria which tame bloating by increasing intestinal motility. 8. Method of cooking no doubt salads and sprouts are good for our health but if experience distension with them then saute, blanch or steam them also fried foods are best to be avoided not only because of their high-calorie content but also because frying leads to changes in oil composition which may result in bloating. 9. Avoid chewing gums and candies while chewing them air enters our digestive system, giving us feeling of bloating, also candies are zero in nutrition but contain loads of calories. Also, eat slowly as gulping down increases air passage to the digestive system 10. Individual tolerances some individuals are more intolerant to certain foods like radish, capsicum, tea, cauliflower etc, so with your own personal experience omit them from your diet.

Becoming a parent is the most cherishing moment in a couple's life, hence it is important to ensure that both the mother and the baby are healthy. In today's world lot of factors like environmental, socio-economic, lifestyle associated, and addictions such as smoking and alcohol affect the health of both men and women. If the parents have ill health or unhealthy lifestyle practices, the same can complicate matters and also cause infertility.

Prenatal Counseling:

Today's life, especially in the metro cities, is fast and becoming more stressful. Pregnancy is a period when the health of the baby is directly dependent on the health of the mother and father. Also during the early phase of pregnancy the development of a baby inside the womb is very rapid and is the base for its future. Preconception counseling helps parents to understand and identify the different factors affecting the growth of the baby along with the modifications or complete illumination of these factors (if possible) to maintain the healthy development of the baby and the health of the mother as well.

Hence preconception counseling is a good initiative towards a healthy outcome. It not only guides the parent about the healthy lifestyle but also helps to find out the genetic factors causing any malformation or medical conditions, affecting the baby- the mother- the whole family through an emotional, psychological, social and economic point of view. It helps the parents to understand the condition, its future consequences so that they are able to take informed decisions.

The Prenatal Counseling Guides About:

  • The right height and weight as per the BMI. This highlights the right attributes needed for conception
  • Blood pressure to check any abnormality
  • Medical history - whether they have had any medical treatment for any particular disease. If yes, then what are the medications? They check whether these are safe medications for pregnancy or not. The doctors then alter them accordingly to avoid any harmful effect on pregnancy.

  • The change or modification in the lifestyle to reduce stress

  • Any family history of any disease like Haemophilia and the steps towards it
  • Quitting alcohol and smoking as they have adverse effects on the growth and development of baby
  • Any kind of drug addiction having ill effect on the health of both mother and baby

Thus prenatal counseling in planning a baby is a step towards ensuring a healthy outcome.

Diet and workouts go a long way in helping you gain strength to gain weight, you must eat more calories than you burn. When you gain weight, some will be fat and some will be muscle. To gain muscle, you must eat protein. To boost the ratio of muscle to fat gain, you must exercise. To gain muscle and strength, you must engage in resistance exercise. For scar do this =squeeze the lemons to take out the fresh juice in a bowl. Add the honey to this lemon juice and mix well. Dip the cotton ball in this mixture. Now apply this mixture on your cotton ball to whole of your face or the area where you have acne scars. Leave for about 10-15 minutes. Wash off with water and pat dry. For 10 days after 10 days revert me for further treatment.

Hi improving your diet and lifestyle is the best way to lose weight. Make small target of losing 2-4 kg per month. Eat breakfast as soon as you wake up. Eat three fruits per day. Drink plenty of water. Eat high fiber vegetables and low fat protein sources. Walk for thirty min minimum daily.

Hi sir. I underwent arthoscopy for my left knee for lateral minicus tear on 29th sep 13. since then I have problem while prolong sitting in office. Bike ride etc. it's always painful and I feel more or less pain 24/7. Now I am having two medicines tendocare And Elkar 0.5 g Past 3 months. However the flexibility n volume of pain had reduced past one month BT it's never cured. I wonder if I can be normal as I was before surgery or injury. I got injury on 25 July 11 while playing football. Thanks

Dear, Very Good Evening! Thanks for writing in regards to your problem with good description of your symptoms. Much appreciate it as it helps to make our responses more specific as well. All the symptoms you have mentioned make me suggest of few areas that me need possible addressing after a thorough clinical assessment has been carried out. However, there may be possible two things which may be going on simultaneously or either one of them which may be resulting in the symptoms you are experiencing. These 2 things i suspect may be: 1) Capsular tightness post-arthroscopy 2) Tight Hamstrings Most of the times, arthroscopic procedures for lateral mensical tears are successful (varying on how complex it was & if any pre-existing wear & tear changes present or not). A good rehabilitation of minimum 3 months is must to facilitate the recovery and aid you to return to sport. So Manish, take this opportunity and momento to get a further detailed assessment specially with a Physiotherapist with Sports experience. Depending on where you are based, I may be able to provide you with reference for the same if I have anyone within my contacts. I have seen many similar post menisectomy clients with a good outcome following a specially designed exercise and treatment program. wash ur face 3 times/ day drink water 10 glass/ day Wash your hair often if your hair is oily. Try to keep your hair off of your face. Avoid hair care products such as gels, mousses, cream rinses, and pomades that contain a lot of oil. Avoid touching your face. Avoid exposure to oils and harsh chemicals, such as petroleum. Honey and cinnamon used together helps to fight acne because of its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Add a couple of drops of tea tree oil to either of the masks above during an active acne breakout. for better result kindly consult.

Running is a good exercise for lower limbs and joints but your muscles have power to stable joint position on running. So you have to do first warm up and strengthening exercises for knee, ankle, hip joint.

There is no specific medication for treatment of a dengue infection. -Use analgesics like crocin or dolo -650 mg and avoid those containing ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin or aspirin containing drugs. -Take rest, drink plenty of fluids like coconut water, lime water etc.to prevent dehydration.
