Before 2 month ago I have 40 inches chest size and a broader chest and flat .but m suffered from typhoid fever about one month. Now my bones are bending and I am feeling very un comfortable. Chest size reduced to 33 inches. What can I do for regain my all muscle and prevent shoulders and upper back bending.

Basic Life Support (B.L.S), Doctor of Medicine
General Physician,
Typhoid can Def take a lot out of a person. possibly it might have caused some lesions in the intestine that could be causing malabsorption of nutrients. I recommend just take your medicines regularly so that the infection completely resolves. give yourself sone rest and let the body heal and recover. And eat well. only eating good food will GIVE u your strength back. medicines won't.

Got pimples and small acne on forehead. Tried applying salicylic acid gel but not helping. Same thing happening on back from a longer time.

BHMS
Homeopath, Chennai
Dear lybrate user avoid any gels and facewash use gram fluor and turmeric instead also eat plenty of vegetables and whole fruits and drink plenty of water since pimples is a chronic disease it needs to be treated by internal medicines only any external application is like treating the effect where cause remains the same or may be suppressed to more deeper level by suppressive treatments.

I am having pain. In Left back side chest pain. Might be because of gym Pls suggest.

First of all check your weight and your haemoglobin levels as this may not be due to your back pain. Whenever you do breathing in and out you will feel pain in the upper back, middle back and also the pain will radiate upwards until the shoulder and also up to the chest. You might feel chest congestion and tightness and that be due to gastric trouble. Kindly do breathing exercises which might help you to get reduced with pain in the back and shoulder. Drink hot water to reduce the gastric trouble. Kindly consult gastroenterologist if you doesn’t improve.

Endocrinologist, Thane
Dear lybrate-user, I appreciate your care towards your mother. Frozen shoulder is a very common complication of diabetes and affects females more than males. It is because of deposition of glucose and proteins in shoulder capsule which is also called adhesive capsulitis which is seen as self limiting but painful condition which is treated by 1) good control of blood sugar 2) physiotherapy when it is not very painful 3) pain relievers, vit d and calcium. Already she has gone thru 6 months. Please be patient as she'll surely come out of it in next few days.

Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. The best treatment for Hamstring injury is to keep ice in the area where you have pain/or where the muscle is injured. You can also do hot water fermentation in the area. You shall keep your legs elevated by using one or two pillows. Keep ice which will reduce the inflammation and that will there by reduce the pain Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired that can also be reason to have frequent pain in the whole body especially in the knee

You could start with some exercises for the shoulder. Exercise - start with shrugging of shoulder up to 10 tines. Exercises - gentle pendular movements exercise - ststretching of shoulder and neck will help. For your neck you need to do isometric exercises. Placing your hand on your forehead pushing your forehead against the hands. Gentlyneck movement exercises. All these will help you. You also need to improve on posture while sitting standing.

Bachelor of Physical Therapy

Sir, It's not paralysis as far as I can guess with your description. It seems like due to lack of exercise and activity your muscles have become weak. I would suggest you to go for morning walk regularly. Do some strengthing and stretching exercises for you legs for atleast 15 days. If symptoms still persist, Consult Physiotherapist. I hope I helped you. THANK YOU!

I have knee pain problem in my left leg. I hav consult soo many Dr. But nothing happen. Some Dr. says that it's a ligament issue. But my bones are not fractured for that wht shud I do.

Diploma in Hospital Administration, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
There could be Stretch / tear in the ligaments either outside or Inside the left Knee joint. This requires consultation of Orthopaedic Surgeon Who will get X-Ray of Knee. then may advice Crepe Bandage/Plaster.Some time Nerve stretch in left leg could be due to Sciatica. Patient lie on her back and tell her to lift her Right leg up to 90 Degree. Then lift her Left leg up to 90 Degree. In Sciatica she will get pain if she lift beyond 45 Degree. While standing straight normal person can bend forward and touch her own toes with her fingers. In Sciatica she may not be able to touch her toes. Hard bed (with Cushion) , Hot fomentation of lower back may help. Patient lie on her abdomen. Flex (Bend) legs to touch thigh may help. Get it confirmed by Surgeon and take medication as per his advice.
