When I close my eyes and try to sleep something happens in my head I don't know how to explain. I am feeling too scared many thoughts are running through my head .please give me any solutions. I have been having headache quiet frequently .At nights I feel dam scared .I am unable to sleep.

1. Sleep well and regular. Irregular sleep can have some serious consequences. It affects both our physical health and also contributes to anxiety and stress. Anxiety as such also leads to disruptions in sleep. When feeling anxious, always try to get a full 7 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep and it can work wonders to improve your condition. 2. Always keep smiling. Take a quick break in between your hectic work to get some laughs with your friends. Laughter can reduce depression and anxiety and has proven benefits. 3. Tidy up your living space or workspace. Keep your things clean and clutter-free. That helps us think clear and thus reducing levels of anxiety. 4. Say thank you often. Expressing your thanks for something helps reduce anxiety. 5. Eat smart. Eating more of foods which are rich in vitamin b and omega-3 fatty acids and also healthy whole grain carbs. Vitamin b contributes to good mental health. While omega 3 fatty acids help with both depression and anxiety. Whole grain foods boost serotonin and helps us remain poised. Eating high-sugar content food and processed foods can increase levels of anxiety. 6. Learn to breathe well and relax. Short, shallow breaths arise when you are tensed. So consciously breathing deeply, plus increasing the duration and depth of breathing helps relax the body and mind to a great extent. 7. Meditate. Meditation has so many positive effects on stress, mood, and anxiety. Club meditation with positive thinking to improve your general well-being and overall health. Yoga is also very effective to take off stress from the body and mind by deep relaxation and breathing techniques. 8. Chill and be silent. Reduce the noise and clutter talk that contributes to anxiety. Find time for yourself and be alone to muse upon your own matters without anyone disturbing you. 9. Worry. Yes, we can cause ourselves to freak out, but only for a certain amount of time. When something weighs heavily on your mind, or you believe something terrible is most definitely going to occur, commit to only creating that worry for 20 minutes. Think of all the possible outcomes of the scenario, figure out some game plans, and then quit thinking about it after 20 minutes go by. Have a friend call after the allotted time has passed to avoid the temptation of going over the time limit. Or schedule some of that playtime right afterward. 10. Plan for the future but do not worry about it. Make time tables and to-do lists so that you will not be worried about finishing stuff and so that you can increase your productivity. 11. Be positive. When you feel anxious, train your mind to think and feel positive and give reinforcement to yourself that you can handle any situation. This will significantly reduce your stress and anxiety symptoms. 12. Smell relaxing stuff. Go out to your garden. Smell a fresh rose. Take a deep breathe and allow the relaxation to course through your whole body. You can also use relaxing aroma therapy and use it indoors. 13. Go out and spend time with your friends and family. Spend time with your pets social support reduces anxiety and stress to such a great extent that it is almost always bearable. So next time you get on your nerves, go out with your friends, chat with them, watch a movie, spend some time watching the waves in the beach with your partner, talk to your siblings. If you have tried all these and still have problems, please consult me for prescription medication.

I have yellow eyes since ten days and m afraid. That I have aids. So what to do I am a student.

Hello lybrate-user. Relax! I am sure you will not have aids. Yellow eyes of recent onset (few days), could be due to a condition of the liver known as jaundice. In such a case, it would be associated with fever and abdominal pain along with yellowing of the skin of the whole body. It would be a good idea to get a complete body check up by a physician. It might require liver function tests to be done. If the condition that you described has occurred over a span of years, it would be more likely to be due to a condition known as pterygium or pingecuela of the conjunctiva. Pterygium/ pingecuela is characterized by a yellowish small elevated lesion that occurs just adjacent to the cornea. It usually occurs due to excessive exposure to sunlight and environmental dust. It occurs more commonly in people having a lot of field work. It is usually a harmless condition which requires no intervention unless there is excessive redness, burning or pain associated with it. If the symptoms of burning and redness do occur then it would be a good idea to use lubricant eye drops along with an antihistamine eye drops as well. This would be best done under the supervision of an eye specialist after getting the eyes checked up in person. There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 28 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

I am suffering from allergy conjunctivitis almost 2 years. Sometime this discontinue. When problem is rise then I am using this medicine IF2 eye drop (olopatadine hydrochloride) and genteal lubricant eye drop. Sometime I am used montair lc tab (montelukast sodium and levocetirizine hydrochloride. When these are medicine used then my problem disappear. When I expose to sunlight, dust, smell, smoke then once again appear this symptoms like puffy eye, pain in eye. Red and etching eye and nose. I am extremely trouble for this symptom because again and again comeback. My face swelling at morning time. Please sir tell me any new way. Thank you.

Hello. I think you have allergic conjunctivitis. 1. Eye allergies, called allergic conjunctivitis, are a common condition that occurs when the eyes react to something that irritates them (called an allergen). 2. The eyes produce a substance called histamine to fight off the allergen. As a result, the eyelids and conjunctiva (the thin, filmy membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids) become red, swollen and itchy, with tearing and burning. The key to treating eye allergies is a. Avoid or limit contact with the substance causing the problem. B. Avoid rubbing eyes instead do cold compresses. Use antiallergic eyedrop along with lubricating eyedrop. This will help you I am very sorry dear to say that there is no medicine that can cure allergy. Only way is to stay away from all those things that you are allergic to.

For couple of days I see too many floaters in my eye s. In generally is too much for eyes. And I feel also mildly headache. Some times my eye looks toot sleepy in the evening.

Hello Subhajit, The fluid in our eyes normally does have floaters. If the floaters come in the field of vision, thats when it starts getting irritating. You can ignore them as they usually reduce and disappear on their own without any medication. Otherwise you can use Tear eye drops which is a mild lubricant and provides general moisture to the eye keeping it healthy.

What to do and what not to do when we are wearing contact lens and how many hours can we wear it?

Here are some useful tips on contact lens wear and care to help you get the best out of your contact lenses. Do Have regular check-ups as advised by your practitioner Always wash and dry your hands prior to handling your lenses Always rub, rinse and store your lenses in the recommended solution before and after each use (except single-use lenses, which should be discarded after each wear) Always clean the lens case with solution, wipe with a clean tissue then air-dry after each use by placing the case and lids face down on a tissue Always apply the same lens first to avoid mixing them up Check the lens is not inside out before applying Check the lens is not damaged before applying Handle carefully to avoid damaging the lens Apply your lenses before putting on make-up Remove lenses then remove make-up Keep your eyes closed when using hairspray or other aerosols Replace your lens case at least monthly Discard lenses and solutions that are past their expiry date Wear only the lenses specified by your contact lens practitioner Stick strictly to the recommended wearing schedule and replacement frequency Make sure you have an adequate supply of replacement lenses or a spare pair Have an up-to-date pair of spectacles for when you need to remove your lense Don’t Use tap water, or any other water, on your lenses or lens case Wet your lenses with saliva Put a lens on the eye if it falls on the floor or other surface, without cleaning and storing again Apply a lens if it is dirty, dusty or damaged Continue to wear your lenses if your eyes don’t feel good, look good, or see well Re-use or top up solution – discard and replace with fresh solution each time lenses are stored Decant solution into smaller containers Wear lenses left in the case for more than seven days without cleaning and storing them in fresh solution Sleep in your lenses unless specifically advised to by your practitioner Wear any lens overnight if you are unwell Use your lenses for swimming, hot tubs or water sports, unless wearing goggles Wear your lenses when showering unless you keep your eyes firmly closed Switch the solution you use except on the advice of your practitioner Use any eye drops without advice from your contact lens practitioner Share contact lenses or wear any lenses not specified by your practitioner Remember that if you have any questions about your contact lenses you should consult your eyecare practitioner for advice.

Hello, this, condition prevails, when you are stressed at that time or scared of some thing- due to dust, smoke & pollution on d road you move on. * you should take plenty of water to eliminate toxins which you miss in your office, * take easily digestible diet, avoiding junk food. * your breakfast and meal should b in time. * go for meditation for 30 mnts to reduce your stress. * clean your eyes with normal water, twice when you are back home. Get your refraction done and wear spectacles Eat green veggies. Carrots. Strain less your eyes. Relax your eyes in between work. Blink regularily if working for long time on computer. Lower the brightness of your screen. Work under adequately illuminated conditions. If needed wear corrective spectacles. These are few things you can take care of. Otherwise as such no options available which can increase your eyesight.

Take frequent breaks while studying and dip a handkerchief in cold water and keep it over closed eyes for 2 minutes during breaks, you will feel better. Also get your eyes checked for any spectacle number.

Hello. Any activity that requires intense use of the eyes -- such as extended amounts of driving or reading -- can cause eye fatigue. These include extended periods of: reading writing driving exposure to bright light or straining to see in dim light can also cause eye fatigue. One of the most common causes of eye fatigue is staring for long periods at digital devices such as: computer screens smartphones video games during sleep, the eyes are replenished with essential nutrients. Lack of sleep may result in persistent eye irritation. Prevention of eye fatigue usually eye fatigue can be prevented or reduced by making simple changes in your work habits or environment. Make changes to your computer screen, such as: place the screen 20-26 inches away from your eyes and a little below eye level. Regularly clean off dust and fingerprints from the screen. Smudges on the screen can reduce contrast and increase problems with glare and reflections. Choose screens that tilt and swivel. Consider using a glare filter over your screen. Make changes to your work environment, such as: change lighting to reduce glare and harsh reflections. Use an adjustable chair. Place a document holder next to your computer screen. Make changes to your work habits, such as: try the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look away about 20 feet in front of you for 20 seconds. Post a note that says" blink" on the computer as a reminder. Take regular breaks from computer work. Take care of your eyes with these steps: apply a washcloth soaked in warm water to tired, dry eyes (with eyes closed). Use artificial tears to refresh your eyes when they feel dry. To help prevent dry eyes while working indoors, use an air cleaner to filter dust and a humidifier to add moisture to the air. Management: give sufficient rest to your eyes with proper sleep. Keep yourself hydrated with intake of 10-12 glasses of water in a day. Eat healthy especially vitamin a rich food (green vegetables, carrots, yellow fruits and vegetables) and avoid junk food. Hold tap water in your flexed palm, dip your one eye closer to the water level, shut and open your eyelids often. Do the same with your other eye. Repeat this whole process 1-2 times more in a day. Give your eyes proper rest. Can keep slices of cucumber or potato or used tea bags over the closed eyes for sometime. Medication: instill 2 drops of euphrasia eye drops in each eye twice daily.

I don't feel hungry at all and even feel lazy to eat anything. I skip meals on regular basis. I even tried eating tonics to increase my hunger but it only effect me for 1 or 2 days and than it also stop working. Honestly, I'm not so regular in eating medicines or tonics. Now I'm 19 and slowly all my body parts are getting weaken. Like my eyes they recently got specs of about -0.5 and my teeth started aching due to lack of calcium. In short, all the energy which my body has saved is now vanished resulting me in a poor health condition. N even though I know the reason, I can't tackle it. For me eating food is like the biggest responsibility. Need help please and I look very thin.Please tell.

There are 4 pillar for good health. First is healthy nutritious diet- include all colors in your diet. Second is exercise. Do some sort of physical exercise at least 20-30 min daily. It could be walking, cycling, jogging, swimming, skipping, yoga etc. Third is adequate rest. Sleeping as per urr individual requirement which may be 6-10 hours a day. Meditation provide excellent relaxation and many other benefits. Fourth is a positive mental attitude. A positive expectancy and outlook towards life. All the best. Work on all four and I am sure you will regain your appetite.

hello glare is a common problem after lasik....with time brain adapts to this glare and patient becomes comfortable. at this age, glare could be due to early cataract kindly consult local ophthlamologist and get eyes examined

I am 26 years old now. I am suffering from a eye problem from the past 10 years. Whenever I give little bit of pressure in my eye like watching tv or mobile for 3 or 4 hrs irritation occurs. Even I can't sit in the window sit in bus or car. Heavy winds pressure causes eye irritation. During irritation some very small scar like thing occurs in my eye Cornea. Due To the movement of cornea this scars causes deep irritation. Sometimes I can't even open my eye. It persists for 1 or 2 or 3 hrs then suddenly goes away within second. Cornea scars also disappears. I often suffer due to this 2 or 3 times in a week. Causing lot of problem in my day to day life. What can be the reason and solution of this problem?

Hello lybrate-user, With the information provided by you the most common conditon that I can think you are suffering from is Dry Eyes Syndrome (also know as Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca or Sjogren Sydrome) or may be some variant of dry eyes syndrome. It is a condition in which there is deficiency of tears in the eyes leading to dryness causing uneasiness and all the symptoms which you have mentioned. The salivary glands may also be affected in this disease and lots of patients also complain of dryness of the mouth. The temporary corneal scars which you are mentioning, those may be stringy discharge that causes discomfort. To diagnose the condition you will require clinical evaluation of the eye followed by these tests- Tear Break Up test, Schirmer Test and Epithelial Staining. There may be possibilities of other diseases also (Differential Diagnosis) like Eye lid infections, Allergic Conjunctivitis or Side effect of some drugs (Medication), Which can cause these symptoms. The treatment of Dry Eyes depends on the severity Medications includes Tear Subtitutes (Lubricants) Topical Corticosteroids. Topical Cyclosporin Surgery includes Punctal Occlusion. My suggestion is to evaluate your eyes with a Eye Doctor to diagnose the condition, and if it is Dry eyes then stage the disease and start the treatment accordingly.

I weep and shed tears very frequently venever some one hearts or scolds me either from the work place or from my family. When my spouce beats me brutally my teras are shed for two yo three days. Continuous weeping created problem of non viewing properly. Evev if I remember such past events tears are almost in my eyes for long period. Pl guide. And suggest medication for eyes.

This is not an ophthalmological problem. Whenever eyes water vision blurs. You need marital counselling and also some spiritual help from a leader of your religion. Eye medication will not help you, sorry.

Getting black appearance under my eyes these days. I work on laptop for about 3 hours during night times, is thr a problem? Tell me solution please.

Hi lybrate-user. Working on laptop is not the problem. The problem is when improper posture and habits are maintained while working on the computer. I have a few suggestions for you regarding the usage of computers, mobile phones and books. Follow the rule of" 20" this means that every 20 minutes, take a gap of 20 seconds, blink your eyes actively 20 times and focus at an object which is minimum 20 feet away. This will help in relieving your eyes from the continuous strain that is caused due to staring. Staring at the computer continuously causes us to subconsciously blink less than normal. This causes the tear film on the surface of the eye to dry up. The result of this is pain, discomfort, etc. Another suggestions regarding the usage of computers is to maintain a proper posture. The computer must be positioned at the same height as your eye level. The neck should not be inadvertently flexed or extended. Roughly, an angle of 90 degrees should be maintained between your upper body and thighs. Likewise, a similar angle (90 degrees) should be maintained between your lower legs and thighs. Also the angle between your hands and arms should be roughly 90 degrees. This is the healthy ergonomic way of sitting while using a computer. Maintenance of proper posture would help in further relieving the symptoms of eye discomfort and pain. You could consider preservative free lubricant eye drops 4 to 5 times daily. These eye drops would ensure that your eyes stay well lubricated and fresh. All these suggestions may take a while to sink in and imbibe in your routine. Once followed, they are sure to work wonders for you. Also, adequate sleep of 7 hours a day is essential in order to maintain healthy eyes. You could also use a preservative free lubricant eye drop 4 to 5 times in a day. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care. Regards.
