GOUT - Raised uric acid - Hyperuricemia
Gout is a multisystem disease. The more it is left properly untreated more no of joints can be involved, it can cripple you, it can affect your heart and kidneys and kill you. It usually affects only one joint to start- see first two photographs - acute sudden attack at base of great toe. But later on multiple joints including hand joints can be affected. It is a devastating disease.

I want to know how HIV or AIDS happen? Or if I get into a intimate relationship with a married women then it will infect me? Does this disease happen if I get intimate with a gay?

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry, MBA (Healthcare)
Psychiatrist, Davanagere
Hi there ~ although you have answered all the yes/no questions that are standard for the question type that you want to ask there are many things that are missing that need to be screened, for example sexual preference. You have indicated that you want to ask a hypothetical question of" if" you get intimate with a married woman - which is immoral and probably against the law and" if" you got intimate with a gay - which raises the question of whether you are homosexual or bisexual. Do you have a baseline hiv screen done and when was it. It seems like you have multiple partners, please tell me more about that since it is a high risk sexual activity. If you need information about any of the fears that you may have regarding sexual activity I recommend that you text, call or webchat with me privately on lybrate. One thing for sure is that you should always have protected sex when in doubt. I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!

I have one kid (4 years old) While delivery in cesarian Fibroid taken out and tested which is normal Fibroid. But after 4 years, again Fibroid appears in uterus. Due to that heavy bleeding in periods and Head ache. Doctor said operation to be done. Is there any medicine to decrease the Fibroid size. We want one more child, conceive is possible without removing the fibroid. Is there any possibility to remove that without surgery. Pl clarify.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
If your fibroid is very big and your bleeding can not be controlled with medicines, then you might need a myomectomy i.e removal of fibroid. First try a conservative treatment with medicines but I think that your gynaecologist is the best to guide you for this problem.

Hyperhidrosis - Making Summer Miserable

DVDL, MBBS
Dermatologist, Delhi
Hyperhidrosis - Making Summer Miserable

Sweating is a normal function of the body, but some people sweat so much that their clothes are often drenched in sweat. Hyperhidrosis is a condition where the amount of sweat produced by the sweat glands cannot be regulated. It is characterized by excessive sweating commonly seen in the underarms, palms and soles. This disorder can affect a person at any age and if left untreated, can become a lifelong condition. Though this condition is not a serious threat to your health, it can be quite embarrassing and can hamper your lifestyle.

In many cases, there is no obvious trigger for Hyperhidrosis, and it is caused by the malfunctioning of the nervous system. This is known as primary Hyperhidrosis. Sweat is a function which helps the body cool itself. In cases of primary Hyperhidrosis, the brain sends a message to the sweat glands to produce sweat even though the body does not need to be cooled. A genetic mutation may also be the cause for some cases of Hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis with obvious trigger factors is known as secondary Hyperhidrosis. While primary Hyperhidrosis mostly affects the underarms, groin, palms and soles, secondary Hyperhidrosis can affect all parts of the body. Some of the common triggers for this condition are:

  1. Pregnancy
  2. Menopause
  3. Anxiety
  4. Low blood sugar
  5. Hyperthyroidism
  6. Medication side effects
  7. Alcohol or drug withdrawal
  8. Parkinson’s disease

Hyperhidrosis can be challenging to diagnose and treat. Lifestyle changes are the easiest way to address this disorder. Some changes that can help you fight Hyperhidrosis are:

  1. Avoid spicy food and alcohol
  2. Replace deodorants with antiperspirants
  3. Choose cotton fabrics over synthetic fabrics
  4. Wear loose fitting clothes.
  5. Try using armpit shields and wearing absorbent socks.

Anticholinergic or antimuscarinic medicines can also help treat Hyperhidrosis. This keeps the nervous system from activating the sweat glands. Dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, abdominal cramps and difficulty in passing urine are some of the side effects associated with this medication. Iontophoresis is a more aggressive form of Hyperhidrosis treatment. This involves passing a weak electric current through a wet pad to the affected area to block the sweat glands. It is usually used to treat excessive sweating in the palms and soles.

Botox injections can also help treat Hyperhidrosis by blocking the brain signals to the sweat glands. However this is not a permanent cure and may need to be repeated after a year or so. Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy or a surgery to remove the sweat glands may also be recommended in extreme cases of Hyperhidrosis. This is usually seen as a permanent solution for excessive sweating, but are relatively new procedures and hence not very common. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.

Regular healthy periods after misconception are a sure sign of no pregnancy? Pls answer.

Regular period with average flow post miscarriage predicts no pregnancy 99% of times. But if they are cyclical for more than 3 months would be almost sure of no pregnancy.

Can a girl of 23 years age take a ipill. Will she get pregnant if a boy cums on her vagina without penetrating her? She is having pains during periods and is on medication.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Delhi
A 23 year girl can take ipill. Even contact with vagina may allow the sperm penitrate if semen has been ejaculatd at the mouth of the vagina without penitartion. Pain during period may be simply spasmodic dysmenorrhoea which can be releaved by antispasmodic medicines. However she must have gynaecological check up to exclude other causes.

Imperative Information Women Need to Know About Labioplasty

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, M.Ch - Plastic Surgery

Imperative Information Women Need to Know About Labioplasty

Lip Correction is performed by women who want reduction of the inner lips on the outside of the vagina or labia minora. The reduction is done as many women are uncomfortable with the shape as well as the size of their labia. The swelling of the labia often causes discomfort in exercising, and women are unable to wear bathing suits as well as fitting clothes. It also causes interference in the sexual activity and sometimes it becomes very embarrassing and difficult to maintain basic hygiene.

There are numerous variations in the thickness, size, color and shape of the vaginal tissues and not many women are aware of the prominent size as well as size of their labia. There are many women who are not at all concerned with the appearance of the labia. However, some women who suffer from these symptoms are very upset and feel their self-image is diminished, and it is important in such case that reduction of the Labia minora be done. It is through Lip Corrections that women can take control of their body and reshape their labia just like women who do augmentation of their breasts.

It is very important to know everything about Lip Correction before opting for this surgery. It is important to do some research online and visit websites that provide information on vaginal surgeries. The surgical techniques that are used for Lip Corrections are many, but it must be conducted by a certified surgeon who is well-experienced and does the vaginal rejuvenation with perfection.

When Must Lip Corrections Be Considered-
Lip Corrections is a surgical process, and that is done specially to correct an outsized or irregular labia minora. The tissues adjacent to the vulva of the vagina are reduced, and this surgery is done both for aesthetic reasons as well as for medical purposes. The surgery can be considered by a woman at times to feel physiologically and emotionally good, and at times it is done for purposes like.

  • Irregular shape of the labia
  • Oversize of the vaginal folds
  • Protruding labia
  • Discomfort caused due to thickness of the Labia
  • Labial disease that can occur after childbirth
  • Duration of Surgery

The excess skin is cut, and then it is sewn over the edge during the surgery. The disadvantage of this surgery is that after the surgery, the long vertical stitch line gives the area an unattractive appearance. It takes approximately an hour and half for the surgery to take place, and the patient is generally given local anaesthesia during the surgery.

Dear user we can very well appreciate your concern regarding pregnancy. Please understand that ubiphene and fertomid both have a same constituent i. E clomifene. Clomifene is used to treat infertility in women caused by failure or improper release of eggs from ovary (ovulation). It belongs to a class of medicines known as antiestrogens. It acts by changing the hormonal balance in the body. This stimulates release of eggs from the ovary, and helps in fertilization in females. Regarding your fertility issues we suggest you to meet an infertility specialist so that they can through examine you in person and advise accordingly.
