Hello Lybrate User, Bad breath is also known as Halitosis, foul smelling odor that seems to come from the mouth cavity. Dry mouth, certain foods such as Onion and garlic because they contain smelly sulfur compounds., poor dental hygiene are few causes of bad breath. Self care technique can help to minimize bad breath, these techniques are as follows - * use oral care products, like mouthwashes and toothpastes. * proper oral care, brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day and use fluoride toothpaste. * stimulate your salivary flow - prevent dry mouth with chewing gum or mints. * eat fibrous fruits and vegetables. * Brush your teeth occasionally with baking soda. * stop smoking. * Drink plenty of water. * Take a dietary supplement - Vitamin C, D, E and B help to eliminate excess mucus and toxins naturally. * Avoid alcohol. i. Clean your tongue daily. Along with that take Homeopathic treatment, the natural homeopathic remedies for bad breath, which are completely safe and no side effects. Homeopathic remedies provide a permanent treatment for bad breath. For homeopathic treatment consult me on lybrate privately. Take care.

Dental awareness is what we are lacking in general population. We generally have the tendency to assume that if there is a pain, then only there is a problem. But this is not the case. Infact, painless conditions are more dangerous than the painful ones. The one who comes silently has more potential to distroy.

Dental health is the most neglected health domain among the population. We care more for our vital organs like heart, eyes, liver, kidney, and so on. But when it comes to teeth, we just neglect it either by self medications or some advised tooth powder or tooth paste.

We need to realize that the mouth is an entrance of our body and a healthy mouth is utmost important to keep the body and mind healthy. Simply to give an example - if you have garbage at your door the house cannot be cleaned no matter how many times u mop or broom it.

Atleast a bi-annual checkup for yourself and your kids ensures the dental health is in place. Dental treatments are no more scary these days. New advancements in the field of dentistry have made the treatment very comfortable. And lastly, the early you go, the faster and predictable results you get. That saves your time and a lot of money.

Hi, I am 24 years old girl, I am using braces to my teeth to close my gaps and bend them to look good. And whether any possibilities of facing dental problems like loosening of teeth in old age because of my treatment. Please kindly answer my question. thank you.

Hi swetha, of course there is a possibility for the teeth to get back to its previous position. That is the reason we all you to use the retainer for quite long time. If you use the retainer properly then you can reduce those recurrence. For your second question, there is no chance for the tooth to get loosened because of the treatment you are undergoing. So no worries. Cheers.

Consult dentist and get a full mouth x ray. Fall might have damaged your jaw joint near ear. Don't ignore.

If you doubt you having tumor and it lasting for 7 months consult a dentist as soon as possible take a biopsy and check the type of tumor. Some need a simple type of treatment some is dangerous do not wait till it start symptoms.

Hi, there are various reasons of bad breath, like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently.

Removable dentures are made to wear only during day time. Do not wear them overnight as it can cause a fungal infection like candidiasis. Also keep your dentures clean to keep it infection free.

Hi, I am 26years old. I have got my upper tooth over taking the lower in smaller level and it is visible only when I smile. I don't think possible to wear metal/ceramic/clear braces, as it won't fit my profession. I would like to know are hidden braces safe and suggestible?

Pros: Removable- easier to maintain oral hygiene, can eat what you want, take out for sports and playing insturments Virttually Invisible- more aesthetic than metal braces and clear braces Comfortable- no wires or brackets against the inside of your mouth 3-D simulation- video gives patient an idea of the treatment goal prior to starting treatment and may be a motivating factor Fewer Emergencies- no poking wires or broken brackets FDA approved material- safe and no concern over metal allergies Treatment of choice- for certain malocclusions, it may produce a better result in a shorter amount of time Cons: Require excellent cooperation- if they aren't worn as directed, the teeth won't move Require removal for eating- take aligners out for anything but water, followed by brushing or flossing, before replacing aligners Cost- may be higher cost for Invisalign than braces (not the case in our office due to Invisalign volume but will differ by provider) Transient lisp- whether with brackets or aligners, there is an adjustment period and a slight lisp should be expected at the beginning Changing treatment- treatment set once the ClinCheck is accepted. Direction of treatment changed by new impression and starting again New aligner every 2 weeks- while this doesn't mean you see the orthodontist/dentist every 2 weeks, you will have new pressure on your teeth that often. Most patients experience some tooth discomfort for a day or two with each new aligner The final word: Depending on your malocclusion, Invisalign can be an excellent method of straightening your teeth and providing you with a perfect bite. Keep in mind that Invisalign is an ever-evolving technique and requires the orthodontist/dentist to have a firm grasp of tooth movement using a removable appliance. Currently, the majority of certified Invisalign providers do not have a firm understanding of moving teeth with Invisalign, as there is a big difference between how teeth should and can be moved in terms of order and direction. Invisalign isn't applicable for all tooth movements, but an experienced provider will be able to address a wider variety of situations.

If the gums are swollen on one side,,it may be due to decayed tooth or localized gingivitis,,so consult a dentist and for the time being do rinses with lukewarm water and a pinch of salt.
