Take complete bed rest for at least 5 days. Apply cold pack on your knee twice a day and some ointment. Wear knee caps to provide compression at knee joints. If problem still continues, consult a doctor asap.

Kindly see your school bag is light as possible when ever it is possible for you stand for few minutes in between the periods concentrate on spinal mobility & spinal extension exercise do hot fomentation at night.

I am a 33 old male. Since 1 week I am having pain in lower joint of the ring finger of right hand while moving. It seems to be trigger finger as per the online description. The pain is only at joint while moving the finger. There is no swelling or any other problem. Please suggest some remedy. I have started playing lawn tennis since last month's. Can that be a reason for that?

Take hot and cold fermentation 1 min each, for 5 reps. Do this for 1 week. If improvement is there, continue the fermentation and take precaution like avoid stress on that finger. Otherwise, consult physiotherapist asap. Thank you.

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Dear lybrate user, the pain & burning in leg could be associated with neuropathy of nerve distributed at legs. When there is neuropathy no pain medication will help, rather drugs specific to reduce neuropathic pain & burning will help, these medication can only be prescribed after thorough clinical evaluation. The pain and numbness can also be associated with tb drug specifically isoniazid. One more thing where she is having tb, spine or somewhere else. Kindly consult neurologist or interventional pain specialist for management of pain with burning sensation or consult tb physician for possibility of alteration in tb drug (inh. Regards.

I am 34 years old male. I am suffering from back pain for the last 3 years. I have done MRI. In MRI it is found that 1. MILD DIFFUSE DISC BULGE IS NOTED AT L3-4 LEVEL CAUSING ANTERIORTHECAL SAC indentation MINIMAL NARROWING OF BILATERAL NEURAL forminal AS WELL AS LATERAL RECESSES. 2. MILD DIFFUSE DISC BULGE IS NOTED AT L4-5LEVEL CAUSING ANTERIOR THECAL SAC INDENTATION AND NARROWING OF BILATERAL NEURAL forminal AS WELL AS LATERAL RECESSES. the problem is you have disc bulge at 2 intervertebral levels causing compression of the nerve root that comes out of the spinal canal at that level causing pain in the back and legs . (disc is like gelatinous cushion inbetween two vertebral bones and it acts like a shock absorber . sometimes the disc comes out of its normal position and presses on the nerve which comes from the spinal cord. depending on the nerve that is compressed you can get pain in the back and / or legs, numbness, weakness etc.

At your age the arthritis in your knee joints must be in an advanced stage. Hence total knee replacement will relieve your pain and restore mobility to a great extent. Varicose veins behind the knees may not be a problem for doing the surgery, but it can predispose you to develop dvt after surgery. If adequate precautions are undertaken to prevent dvt, then your surgery and postoperative period will turn out to be uneventful.

Right iliac fossa pain could be because of intestinal reasons, associated with liver, radiate from kidney, liver etc. For the time being pl take ajwain boiled in water and hing roasted in ghee and black salt. It will give relief. If problem persists, clinical investigations may be got done and reported for further advise.

Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Surya, i feel ur muscles are weak. U need to train ur musclea and slowly strengthen them. this process takes time. if ur pain is severe and disturbing ur day to day routine then u can take some anti inflammatory medicines and do h9t homentation. precautions- dont bend forward and avoid lifting heavy weight. do not sit continuously more than 45 mins.

Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hello sir, Pain may be due to tennis elbow, follow this methods pain will be reduced if not reduce consult physiotherapist. Apply ice or hot water fermentation 3-4 times daily. Avoid weight lifting. Learn and do forearm muscles stretch.

Back pain. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Knee advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).
