I am 31 years old I am suffering from back pain and pain at knee. In the x-ray report it shows growth in bone.

This is quite a common condition Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind)1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days Do back(spine) exercises Contact me again if need be. Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 1 wk, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

With pain killer use ointment, hot pack back stretching exercise, avoid forward bending, heavy weight lifting use hard bed. Change working habit all the best.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Please specify which part of your leg is sprained, is it around your ankle that you are experiencing pain and swelling. In either event, please make sure there is no bony injury by getting x rays done. You can initially do lots of ice packs, elevation of limbs at night, avoid putting weight on injured leg, you can also start with basic analgesics which suit you like etoshine, diclofenac, paracetamol etc for around 5 days. But if you can send me details with a clinical picture, then I can advise you in a better manner. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do streching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you dont get relief consult physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

Hi try to control this situation by your mind. Beleive me everything is in the mind. I suggest you some flower remedy available in all homoeopathy shops. Mix 10 drops of olive +! 0 drops of hornbeam mix these with 50 ml water and consume orally by mouth every 12 hours. Try this for 2 months.

I have knee, back and shoulder pain.

Neck massage will give good results. Use little good oil or plain water and massage from either side on the mid shoulder blade. Use your thumbs and move it slowly upwards on the back of neck up to the lower level of ear. Repeat 5 to 10 times. Do not do from top to down. Finally move your neck up and down, sideways left and right. Results are excellent. Pl ask somebody to massage your spinal column from neck down upto sacral bone using both hands ie both thumbs on one side other fingers on other side do only from neck and not from sacral to the neck. Yo can also use a wodden roller purchased from a accupressure items shop consult privately and inform progress

It is important to know how to use an exercise bike the right way. If your posture is poor, you'll reduce your overall results and may even cause injury to your neck, back, knee and hips. Making right adjustments of your equipment will allow you to pedal fast, hard and without worrying about posture or too much pressure on joints. 1) Seat - you'll want a height in which your legs are slightly bent when pedaling. You never want your legs to be fully bent or fully straight. 2) Handlebars - if your static cycle offers handlebar adjustments then choose a position that enables your arms to be fully extended. 3) Feet - do not pedal with your toes. Use your complete foot. 4) Back Posture - your back should be straight. Donot bend forward to grab handlebars or pedal. If you do so, you are putting excess pressure on your back and neck. 5) Footwear - always wear good sport shoes/ sneakers when pedaling. Never opt for barefoot cycling. Follow the above rules while cycling and I ensure You will never bother your joints.

Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. You should take lot of water and Milk daily and a special emphasis on Calcium and Vitamin-D rich food and Sunlight is a must. Sources of Vitamin D: 1. Vegetables: Sweet potato(Shakkar Kandi). Volkmann's contracture, also known as Volkmann's ischaemic contracture, is a permanent flexion contracture of the hand at the wrist, resulting in a claw-like deformity of the hand and fingers. It is more common in children. Dupuytren's contracture affects the connective tissue found beneath the skin in the palm of the hand. Too much collagen can build up, forming thick, rope-like cords of tissue that can prevent the fingers from being able to relax and straighten normally. Initial treatment for Volkmann contracture consists of removal of occlusive dressings or splitting or removal of casts. Analgesics are the mainstay for symptomatic relief in chronic cases. Emergency fasciotomy is required to prevent progression to Volkmann contracture. There is some disagreement regarding which compartment pressure readings are indications for fasciotomy; however, most agree that patients with compartment pressures exceeding 30 mm Hg should be taken to the operating room for emergency fasciotomy. There are no absolute contraindications to immediate decompression for Volkmann contracture in the acute setting. Both physical therapy and occupational therapy are vital to the improvement of range of motion and the return of function in patients with Volkmann contracture.
