Since you are breastfeeding, chances of pregnancy are less. You may go for IUCD insertion within 5 days of intercourse. Oral contraceptive is not advisable during breastfeeding.

Me and my girlfriend are Virgin. We will marry after two months. I know how to do foreplay sex and after play. But what precaution should be taken while having sex for first time? And what should be done when she bleeds for first time during sex? Another question I wanted to ask is doctors say use condom. It is necessary to use condom while having sex with wife although I am loyal to her (I have sex only with my wife)? When wife will bleed for first time than will it cause aids to me or her? When to use condom and when to not? I again mention that I am loyal to my wife and she is also loyal to me and we both are virgin. and I don't want to use condoms. If it is necessity to use condom every time than how its possible to have a baby? If its not necessary than why it is said to use condom every time Please guide me in detail doctor. I hope you understood my situation as well as questions.

MBBS, MS - Obstetrics & Gynecology, Fellowship in Infertility (IVF Specialist)
Gynaecologist, Aurangabad
Hi lybrate-user, if you are virgin risk of sexually transmitted diseases will be very low. It is not necessary to use condom for first time. Their could be bleeding after intercourse first time. Amount of bleeding will depend upon thickness of hymen. If both of you are tested for hiv and have negative report then their won't be any risk of getting infection. Please use condom in fertile period if you want to avoid pregnancy. Avoid frequent use of emergency pill. Wish you have a healthy happy life ahead!

5 Reasons Why Microwaving Food is Only Killing it!

BUMS ( Mumbai ),H.E.S(pune),
General Physician, Mumbai
5 Reasons Why Microwaving Food is Only Killing it!

One appliance that has emerged as a lifesaver in the kitchen is the microwave. This product has transformed the way we cook and have our food.

However, we fail to think about the health benefits of the food that has been microwaved!

Here are five reasons why you should NOT microwave your food!

1. Nonionising radiation: Most of us primarily use the microwave to heat up food and to defrost frozen and packaged food. The microwave carries out these processes by releasing a series of heat waves also known as nonionising radiation, which alters the very composition of your food, making it harmful or less than ideal for your system.

2. High temperatures within a short span of time: When we use the microwave to heat up or defrost or even cook something in a few seconds or minutes, the device emanates an unusually high temperature within that short span of time. The result is that the food experiences a great deal of nutrient loss.

3. Consuming a toxic meal: When you heat a pre pre-packaged meal or meat and frozen vegetables in the microwave, it mixes with the toxins released by the plastic packaging thanks to the heat waves within the microwave. This can cause harmful effects on your health in the long run, including cardiac disease and abnormal hormonal conditions.

4. Damage to the Nervous System: Food processed in the microwave can lead to a process called 'shorting out' which alters the electrical impulses in your nervous system and brain. This damage is usually permanent.

5. Cancerous cell growth: Using the microwave to process your food can lead not only to a loss of nourishment but also to an increase in cancer causing substances in food. When ingested, this food can prove to be dangerous.

Am married before 4 months. Trying to conceive. Am having pcos too. Difficult to conceive. Am overweight too. How to reduce my body weight? in ayurveda?

MBBS, DGO (cal)
General Physician,
Only one equation I know to shed off your extra kilograms is exercise to burn calories and reduce intake of calorie i. E. Food. Pcos was non-existent during ayurveda time. You must see a gynaecologist to assess your status. Your treatment is reduction of weight, some medicine to regulate your cycle for few months, correction of androgenic problem if that is there in your body. Please don't waste time if you are kin to have a baby. Preethi now I see you have written your sex as male?

Can numerous fibroids and an enlarged uterus cause bladder prolapse? Why does my gynecologist think my bladder bulging into my vaginal canal is a fibroid even after I was sent to a urologist for stress incontinence issues?

Diploma in Advanced Gynaec Laparoscopic Surgery, Fellowship in Laparoscopic and Robotic Onco-Surgery, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Zirakpur
Bladder prolapse is as such not an entity. It's vaginal prolapse which may contain bladder as it's content. Fibroids are not known for causing or predisposing for this kind of prolapse. Think you need a re review of reports.

I am trying to conceive during follicular monitoring, I came to know that there is a syst in my left ovary. Is it safe if I will conceive? Doc is saying it is a dermoid . What should we do for removing it ?

MBBS (Gold Medalist, Hons), MS (Obst and Gynae- Gold Medalist), DNB (Obst and Gynae), Fellow- Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (ACOG, USA), FIAOG
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
The management of dermoid cyst depends on it's size and appearance in USG. So, consult your doctor whether you really need to remove it or not. In most cases, I don't remove the cyst if it's small sized.

Hi I got my last period on 23/2/16 which was delayed and we consulted a Dr. and she asked us to maintain relationship...
Treatment for getting pregnant is started 1 year of marriage with regular intercourse. Ovulation occurs only one day in a full monthly cycle. So your body need more time to exactly match that timing with intercourse. To get pregnant you need to have regular sex i. E. 3-4 times a week for one full year before you start seeking medical help. If you want to make her pregnant fast then you can follow this calender method. If a women’s menstrual cycle varies from 26days to 31days cycle, The shortest cycle (26 days) minus 18 days = 8th day. The longest cycle (31 days) minus 10 days=21st day Thus, 8th to 21st day of each cycle counting from first day of menstrual period is considered as fertile period.
