DO I REALLY NEED TO LOSE THOSE LAST FEW KILOS?- WELL, DO I REALLY NEED TO EVEN LOSE WEIGHT AT ALL?
Everybody wants to lose weight these days. Yes, obesity increases our risk of developing health problems- you might not be one of them. Here are some reasons you don't actually need to lose any weight.

When patients come to me and say they need to lose weight, my first question is: Why?" Do you need to lose weight to deal with an issue such as diabetes or high blood pressure or hypothyroidism or its just a case of vanity and you want to show your relatives at the wedding that you can fit into a size zero dress. It's important to realize that you're not losing weight in order to be healthy here but it's just a case of vanity.

Focus on maintaining a healthy body weight rather than dieting without reason.

Like it or not, we can't all be thin like your favourite actress—weight is largely determined by your genetics. Two people following the same diet may weight very different. One may lose much more weight than the other. So, be realistic. No two people can be the same.

There are some genes that control everything from the way your metabolism works to your appetite, sense of satiety and even where the fat gets stored in your body. So no matter how much you focus on shedding that weight, there's no guarantee that you'll be a perfect size zero.

Even if you were very thin in your younger days, it's unrealistic to try to diet your way into your jeans from college. You don't need to lose weight is if you're trying to get back to a size you were in your teens or early twenties. From adolescence to your early twenties you will gain a couple of kilos every year. So, focus on maintaining a healthy weight for your age and body type.

Most women I see in my practice or otherwise are unhappy with the way they look. But you know that, don't you? Most of us have heard that little nagging voice in the head tell us that we're too fat. However, it's important to make the distinction between needing to lose weight for health reasons and wanting to lose weight to silence your inner critic. Don't get told by the fashion industry or the advertisements about your body image. Its not about false outward body image but inward beautiful and healthy weight.

Look at what drives you to keep dieting. Do you feel like a winner when your doctor gives you an ok for your health or when your weight drops down another few grams. If you're mostly concerned with the numbers on the scale, you are dealing with a vanity issue and less with a health issue.

With so much emphasis put on losing weight , we can sometimes forget that weight loss isn't the only reason to live a healthy lifestyle. If you're eating healthy and with awareness and exercising every day, and not having ill health then you are healthy. Most people gain a few kilos in their life but still have no health issues. There's a large range of weights that people can be at and be quite healthy.

It's easy to become frustrated when you feel like you're doing everything "right" but the number on the scale still won't budge. The scale doesn't determine how healthy you are. If you've been at this same weight for years, then it doesn't make sense for you to aim for a weight that you have never been- simply put.

So don't give up on eating well and working out if you don't see a drastic drop in your weight—try not to be hooked on to the scale or some fashion trend in body image for a while and you will see that beauty is not skin deep.

Before two months. My father's thigh bone was braked up and a rod was inserted in left thigh. No recovery is till now. And bone is not healed. X ray reports are in my documents. Doctors tells for new operation in which a new bone they can insert. So pls help us we are very depressed.

Hi, Its seems your father have complication what wee call Non union or delayed union of fractured bone. There are lots of causes that leads to non union even after rod fixation or any fixation. Reasons cav vary from bone lacks adequate stability, blood flow, or both; diabetes, Thyroid, poor Nurtition, complicated fracture break, Low vitamin D level, infection, etc. They also are more likely if the bone breaks from a high-energy injury, such as from a car wreck, because severe injuries often impair blood supply to the broken bone. Doc have suggested a second surgery as the first surgery have not provided desired result i. E union of fractured femur (thigh) bone. Surgical options include bone graft or bone graft substitute, internal fixation, and/or external fixation. As internal fixation was done for first surgery i. E Rod insertion so your doc have suggested you Bone graft. During this procedure, bone from another part of the body at the fracture site to" jump start" the healing process. A bone graft provides a scaffold on which new bone may grow. Bone grafts also provide fresh bone cells and the naturally occurring chemicals the body needs for bone healing. So union of fracture break can occurs faste. R Non-union conditions often require a long healing period after surgery, and depending on the physical condition of the patient and the extent of the complication, Thanks. Take care.

My wife's body temperature drops - her lips turn pale like when you were to long in cold water - that happens from one moment to the other. She uses a heating-pad and then she spikes a fever - her entire body is overly hot. There are some weeks where she has it almost every day and other times she feels good for days. She also has heart racing / high blood pressure. The doctors hear in West Jefferson, NC don't really help.

it happens to most of the girls in cold water. Her lips become pale. So if this is happening she should go away from the cold water and use warm blanket. Dont give any heating pad to her. It happens because of weakness. She should take ayurvedic medicines for this.

Hi, I have been suffering from a problem which is as follows Whenever I am in the toilet for a loo, after the urination there is a white sticky fluid coming out when I exert pressure. It never comes out if I don't exert any pressure in the toilet. Also, it does not happen if I am just urinating. However, happens only if I am in a loo. Also there is no pain at all. Please suggest remedies for the same & what are the consequences of this? What all will effect with this problem? Is this is very serious problem?

This is no problem. this is cooper gland secretion. It is white color thick sticky fluid. This is always present in urethra canal. When you exert or when you have little arousal , this 3-4 drops may appear on the penis mouth. There role is to keep urethra open so that when you want too pass urine the tract is open. The frist part of urine and last part of urine there is some bubles of whitish appearence. It is this only. This will normally be present all the time. So not to worry. Relaxxxx.

do let me know if you also have blackheads with pimples? and what current medications and remedies you already tried to treat acne? acne is a common problem in teen. Almost everybody will get pimples during their teen years. First, don't try to self treat acne. Some popular nonprescription acne lotions, cleansers and other skin products can cause a serious reaction (rare), mostly it is normal to have acne in teenage. For pimples it's important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin's surface, avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin. Never pick or pop pimples with your fingers, as it can lead to infection and scarring. A dietary therapy with the right medications for pimples can also help a lot. Kojic acid (a natural skin lightener derived from mushroom extract), arbutin (also called bearberry extract), and vitamin c (ascorbic acid) are great alternative ingredients to lighten scars left by acne. Don't use vitamin e or any self prescribed preparations on scars or pimples. Increasing the intake of omega-3 fatty acids through a diet significantly rich in fish and seafood results in lower rates of an inflammatory disease like acne. A low-glycemic-index diet also reduces acne risk. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. Start by eating 3 meals and 2-3 snacks per day. Set an alarm to remind you to eat if you are not experiencing regular hunger cues or have a hard time remembering to eat. Try to include more nutritious energy-dense foods such as: nuts and nut butters, dried fruits, cheese, granola bars, and avocados. Try nutrition supplement drinks or regular milkshakes. Make sure to eat protein with each meal and snack. Foods high in protein include eggs, milk, yogurt, cheese, meat, poultry, fish, dried peas and beans, nuts, and nut butters. Add gravy, cream sauces or cheese sauces to meats or vegetables. Add oils or butter to cooked vegetables, grains, or protein. Use whole or 2% milk in place of water or skim milk in drinks, snacks, and in cooking. Use regular/full fat condiments like mayonnaise, sour cream, and salad dressings in foods.
