Sometimes he mixes the words,(means speaks with high speed / frequency). In childhood he suffered with thyroid. We have given him full treatment for that. What should we do to make his voice clear, sharp and like a normal person? Is there are any clinics or doctors in AGRA who help him in practice speaking? Please advice.

I am 36 years old, suffering from thyroid and joints pain since 6 months. What should I do.
Hello, There are few lifestyle changes like brisk walking daily, avoid intake of Yoga-Poses: Kalapbhati: This is a very effective form of pranayama. Sit down on the floor in a comfortable cross-legged position. Take a deep breath & then exhale quickly, while making a sound. Always remember while doing Kapalbhati – you have to forcefully and quickly exhale, but slowly and deeply inhale. Continue doing this for 10 times & then release. Ujjayi Pranayam: Sit down on the floor in a cross-legged straight position. Inhale slowly and deeply by both the nostrils. Try to make a hissing sound while you are sucking in the air. After that, stretch your inhale time for a while & then exhale as much as you can without giving any kind of pressure to your other body parts. This type of pranayama is very effective for those suffering from bronchitis, asthma & thyroid. Yoga Nidra (Corpse Pose) also works well in both hypo and hyperthyroidism in reducing stress and calming down. Foods to be avoided in Hypothyroidism: Hypothyroidism causes skin to become dry. Once it is controlled with tsh levels becoming normal, most symptoms will disappear. Carrots and beet root are fine, can be eaten. Only cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, mustard, peanuts, soy beans and soy containing products and coffee need to be avoided. For pain in joints: Apply Bakson’s Rheum Aid oil gently (2-3 times a day) and take orally Bakson’s Rheum-Aid syrup/ 1 tablespoon thrice daily. Also, increase your dietary intake of calcium which is present in green leafy vegetables, milk, milk products, sea food, white legumes, dried fig, black-eyed peas, almonds, oranges, seasame seeds. And vitamin D which is essential for absorption of calcium in our body and is synthesized naturally after getting exposed to sunlight, so early morning sunlight for 10-15min. 2-3 times a day is mandatory. Apart from this, do walk daily along with physiotherapy will also help you.

First thing is to do evaluation of your husband’s sperm count. If its normal than you should get your examination, lab reports and ultrasound. If everything is normal than keep relation during fertile days. Usually fertile days are between 12 and 18 days of your normal menstrual cycle. Remaining days are relatively infertile. Still if you do not get result than should do IUI treatment.

How to avoid daytime sleepiness A lot of people, irrespective of whether they go out to work, to college or stay at home, feel sleepy during the day. Some out of fatigue, some because of having a heavy lunch and some others because they do not get a good night? S sleep. Whatever be the reason, a few exercises and some discipline can help you get rid of such sleep cravings. Few ways to avoid daytime sleepiness are: 1. Set a routine: Try to go to sleep and wake up at about the same time every day. This resets your circadian rhythm and helps developing your sleeping pattern. 2. At least 30 minutes of workout is important for every individual. Go for walks, go to the gym, take up yoga or aerobics - regardless of the kind of exercise you are doing. When the body gets exercise, so does the brain and you are refreshed to take on the rest of the day. 3. Go to bed gadget free: Keep your books, mobile, tab, laptop and TV remote away from the bed. Stay calm and do not have heated conversations. Your nerves need calm down as you to sleep. 4. Get enough sleep: Ensure you sleep enough every night so that it doesn? T ruin your day. The real reason behind any loss of libido (libido means sexual drive) is the stress associated with daily tasking of life. Humans unlike other species of animal kingdom - like to have sex not just for reproduction but for pleasure as well. Pleasure is a proponent of leisure. Our brain centres are wired to present us the mood appropriate activities. When we are unhappy it makes us indulge in unhappy things- sitting alone, with darkness around, not talking to any one - are all unhappy things we do. Similarly, sex qualifies for being a happy task. If you are unhappy, worrisome inside- you can't be happy to have sex. First, you need to find time, unwind yourself, be easy, be free- then the things would automatically turn out well! sex is for happiness- not performance.

I am 50 years, and weight is 85 kgs and my sugar levels are post lunch 269 to get under control what is the best way?
Hello, blood sugar level of 289 mg pp is fairly high. It can be brought under control by following ways: 1) strict diet control, taking exact calories based on ideal body weight, 2) exercising regularly more than 1 hour a day and 3) appropriate medications. Plus it appears you are over weight (85 kgs), hence weight reduction itself will help in reducing blood sugar. Present medications may not adequate or need adjustment in dosing. Similarly other two aspects like diet and exercise need to be seriously looked at.

Having honey Lemon in warm water may make you feel good that you are doing something for your excessive weight but its effect in weight loss is like trying to empty the Olympic size swimming pool with a 10 litre bucket on a rainy day! Such gimmicks don't work but human mind is culturally conditioned to expect miracle. If you are really interested in losing weight, you will have to invest time and energy in developing healthful habits and make significant lifestyle changes. With right kind of guidance you can slowly get knowledge about nutrition, exercise, stress management and sleep hygiene and develop skill to implement that knowledge in your life. Mr tapash kumar, try and increase fiber content in your diet by consuming more salads, flax seeds (25 g, roasted) or fenugreek seeds (roasted or powdered). Fruits which are permitted like papaya, apple (with skin), pear and guava. Drink enough water. Normally these measures help in overcoming constipation. If nothing works then the laxatives which you are already taking.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. In Ramzan the fasting is only during early morning to about 7 pm in the evening. Food is taken once at 7 pm and then by or before 5 am or 4.30 am. So it is not actually not a total fasting, Therefore, anti-diabetic treatment needs to be taken when food is taken That means treatment has to be closer to your meal time. Both morning and night doses have to be adjusted with food intake. Thanks.

How to solve a my sugar problem but it's normal stage now any one instructions with me.
Hi, Blood sugar or type-2 diabetes is a lifestyle related problem, so making a few lifestyle changes can lower the chances of developing type 2 diabetes. -Excess weight is the single most important cause of type 2 diabetes, so control or reduce your weight if you are overweight! -Avoid sedentary lifestyle and start get moving. Brisk walking for a half hour every day reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. -Modify your diet: *Choose whole grains and whole grain products over highly processed carbohydrates. The bran and fiber in whole grains make it more difficult for digestive enzymes to break down the starches into glucose. *Avoid sugary beverages which have a high glycemic load, and drinking more of this sugary stuff is associated with increased risk of diabetes. *Choose good fats instead of bad fats. Good fats found in liquid vegetable oils, nuts, and seeds. Trans fats or bad fats are found in many margarines, packaged baked goods, fried foods, fast or junk foods. *Limit intake of red meat and processed meats. Nuts, seeds, beans, tofu, or poultry are much more healthful protein choices. -Quit smoking. -Moderate alcohol consumption decreases the risk of type 2 diabetes. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress or tension! And keep an optimistic attitude in life!

Mr. Lybrate-user, if a person develops diabetes, then he should initiate proper treatment. Treatment will depend upon type of diabetes and severity of blood glucose levels. T1 diabetes is treated with insulin injections. T2 can be treated by oral anti diabetes drugs and insulin injections or both. In addition to this strict diet control and regular exercise to maintain normal weight. Once diabetes is diagnosed it is better to avoid sweets and deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries and bakery items. Thanks.

Arpitaji, If you are on treatment with thyroxine tablets then ideally TSH value should be between 3 to 4 milli units / ml. A value of 7.1 means inadequate treatment. As regards the food you should whole grain flour for making chapati and roti, no refined flour (maida). Avoid soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, mustard, peanuts and coffee. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Avoid high fat cheese, ghee and butter.

Mr. Lybrate-user, the details of thyroid testing look quite good. Tsh level is lower, but t3 and t4 are fine. So the present dosage of thyroxine seems good enough. Swelling of the body occurs only if hypothyroidism is not well controlled. But apparently that is not the case. Is there any other symptom related to hypothyroidism? I feel current dose is to be continued and tsh is to be checked after 6 weeks and then one can decide.
