The toothache from cold water may be an indication of cavity in your teeth. Please get a consultation from nearby dentist to get relieved of the problem. No precautions as such but may stop taking cold things, but thats not a solution, its just a way to avoid discomfort.

For healthier teeth, flossing daily in a sawing motion is highly recommended. Take the floss to the point where the teeth meet the gums.

I am suffering from teeth problem, and they become yellow, what should I do for making white?
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening procedures (bleaching or laser) and / or artificial enamel filling. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

I am user of gutkha from last 20 yrs, but now my mouth is open fully. what can I do now? Please help me.

BDS
Dentist, Amritsar
You had said you are taking gutka for 20 yrs, you have not specified are you worried of any signs and symptoms arising out of that gutka chewing or you want to get rid of that habit, my suggestion to you is quit gutka but it will take you to be mentally strong coz you can have withdrawal symptoms quitting it suddenly. As you said you can open your mouth wide, yes that is good but you need to get yourself thoroughly examined by a dental surgeon to be absolutely sure there is not anything to worry about. Always remember prevention is better than cure, first take a call that you need to quit gutka as soon as possible and visit your dental surgeon for a complete check up.

A root canal treated tooth will give slight pain when your using the tooth for chewing purpose that is considered as treatment pain which will come down, if its more than you need to check the tooth.

•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person.

I am 22 years old female. Blood from gums so please tell me what should I do?

BDS
Dentist,
You can get professional cleaning done at a nearby dental clinic & the dentist will also demonstrate proper brushing technique to you. If you maintain your teeth well by brushing twice daily thereafter and rinsing after every meal your problem of bleeding gums will subside.

It is important to know about the reason because of which you have gone through flap surgery. If the flap surgery resolved the primary cause then there is nothing to worry about. In crown lengthening procedure flap surgery is done to make the gum recessed. If the infection occured after surgery is the cause of the recession then you should visit the same doctor again.
