If you are only 24 years old and have developed weakness of left side of face and left hand then it is a serious problem and needs urgent evaluation with a brain scan. Please see a neurologist at the earliest, get yourself appropriately evaluated and treated accordingly. If you have the information, and want further guidance, then I can do so once you provide the information.

"PANCHKARMA "-- Alternative to Knee Replacement Surgery
Joint pain can be caused either due to mechanical or physical factors such as over use or physical trauma or injuries to the joints. While there are many remedies and treatment approaches, you can turn to panchkarma for major relief.

Panchakarma is a therapy that has the objective to purify and detoxify the body. The therapy can help one get rid of many chronic diseases and also works as preventive treatment. Ayurveda describes panchkarma as more than a healing system. It is a combination of science and art of appropriate living to achieve longevity. Ayurveda prescribes Panchakarma for cleansing of body toxins, balancing all tridosha’s (Vata, Pitta and Kapha – three bio energies for body constitution).

Panchakarma-knee pain
Abhyangam: A gentle herbal oil massage to body which helps in relaxation and improves blood circulation
Swedan: Ayurvedic steam with ayurvedic herbs which removes the rigid toxins from the body an loosen the muscles
Basti: Medicated enema which aims to balance the vata dosha of body. Also helps in healing of degeneration of joints
Janu Basti: Knee joint is called as the Janu Sandhi in Sanskrit; hence the name Janu Basti .
AYURVEDIC-TREATMENT
Treats Osteoarthritis
Relieves knee pain
Strengthens muscle
Balances Sleshaka Kapha, which regulates the synovial fluid in the joint, which is necessary for proper lubrication of the joint.

Yoga Various forms of yogasan are been taught which helps in restoring the mobility and give strength to the muscles.

Proper care along with Ayurvedic medicines and Panchakarma can surely avoid knee replacement surgery…………

Thanks for the query. From the complaints you had described it could be stress to the muscles of the neck. I would like you to maintain roper posture at your work place. Start on some neck stretching and strengthening exercises. If the pain is not settling then consult your local orthopedician and get opinion,

Benefits of Hip Replacement Surgery

MBBS, MS - Orthopaedics, Fellow In Joint Replacement , Fellow In Arthroscopy

Benefits of Hip Replacement Surgery

Human bones are continuously being removed and formed, which is necessary for its proper maintenance. However, in certain cases, especially with aging, some bones and joints will be worn down to an extent where the body will not be able to reform them. This is especially true in the case of hips, which may become worn due to age or other problems within the body.

Hip replacement surgery:
When this happens, a hip replacement surgery can be performed to replace the original joints with a prosthesis or artificial hip, which is usually made out of metal or a specially formed composite material or even a combination of the two. Along with other parts, it replaces the natural hip with an artificial hip to restore mobility and other related functions.

Benefits of hip replacement surgery:

  1. Lessening hip pain: This is one of the major factors as well as symptoms of requiring hip replacement surgery. Due to the grinding down of the bones, even the slightest movement causes pain and after the surgery and the recovery period, the pain is lessened.
  2. Correction of bone deformity: When the bones grind down and are abnormally reformed, deformities may occur reducing mobility. Artificial hips will ensure that deformities are corrected and resulting problems are thus eliminated.
  3. Return to normal activities: This is possibly one of the primary advantages of this surgery, although it entails a long recovery period. However, most patients can get back to their normal activities and are able to resume a pain free life.
  4. Ability to have painless sleep: Many people who suffer from hip displacements or bone deformities are not able to sleep properly due to pain. After the surgery and the recovery period, they can return to normal functions and habits, thus are able to sleep properly.
  5. Leg strength increase: Many patients tend to have an increase in their leg strength as one side of the hip tends to become very weak due to bone problems before surgery. After surgery and recovery, the same side tends to have an increased strength due to the implant.
  6. In most cases a lifelong solution to hip problems: As the hip replacement prosthesis is made out of metal and if the operation is successful, it usually tends to last till the end of a person's life and this area usually doesn't tend to have problems again.

Hi lybrate-user, Hunching over a desk is a leading reason why people end up with crippling back pain at some point in their lives. But a few simple changes in the way you work can make your pain go away. 1-Keep your head up; Focus on aligning your head and neck right above your shoulders; avoid straining forward. 2-Be choosy with your chair: Pick one that allows your lower back to rest against a lumbar support. Then tilt the back of the chair so it’s very slightly reclined. 3-Plant your feet: Keep them flat on the floor and shoulder-width apart to quiet tension in your knees and ankles. 4-Take breaks: Getting up at least once an hour— just do some shoulder rolls—reduces pressure on spinal disks and boosts circulation. 5-Sleep the Right Way The amount of rest you get is important, and so is the position you get it in. Sleeping in a bad position or on a mattress without support can cause back pain. Back sleepers should put pillows under their knees. Side sleepers should place pillows between their knees to keep their spine in a neutral position. Stomach sleeping causes the neck and head to twist and can put undue stress on the back. 6--Strengthen Your Core Most people with chronic back pain would benefit from stronger abdominal muscles. If the abdominals are weak, other areas must pick up the slack. When we strengthen the abdominals, it often reduces the strain on the lower back. If your back pain is severe can come to my clinic for further treatment and exercises. Best wishes.

For osteoarthritis ayurvedic medicines work very well. You have to continue the treatment for 6months so that there is no relapse. You have to lead a healthy life in terms of food as well as exercise. Do daily yoga and walking for atleast half an hour. Avoid eating sour and chilled food items. Im sure you will be ok.

There is coming an sound from bones of my arms and my neck is also paining. I think it is because of using mobile. My doctor gave me medicine called 'Supracal' but my pain did not stop. Now he is telling that it's normal.

Hi thanks for the query. Sound from the joints are normal if there is no associated pain. If the sounds are associated with pain better get evaluation for any joint diseases. If there are no evidence of inflammatory joint diseases please start on exercises for your arms and neck.

My husband is 38 years old & he is having severe pain in both the hips. Unable to stand and walk without any support. MRI report says Avascular necrosis of both femoral heads-modified fiscat arlet stage II/III on left and stage II on the right. No demonstrated interapelvic abnormality is seen. Is hip balls replacement the only cure or it is treatable by medicines? please suggest.

MS - Orthopaedics, V. Fellowship in arthroplasty, fellowship arthroplasty

Mm he will definitely need replacement as hips are going to get deformed and damaged I would suggest to get it replaced as per the pain tolerance its not an emergency but do not overdelay do not need to run here n there for unnecessary remedies: all fail I would suggest to get it replaced as soon as pain tolerance is exceeded

Usually mechanical back pain reduces by extension exercises. 1. Lie on your stomach for 5 minutes. Take deep breath 2. From same position prop up your upper body over elbow (the way you read a book in bed lying on your bed): 5 min 3. In standing keep your hand in the belt line and bend backwards. 10 repetition every 2 hours. Drink a lot of water and do not bend forward. Hope this helps.

Hello, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned that your mother has l3/4 disc problem which is actually a mri finding. I would like to know from you a detailed history of her back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias ( electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. It can be very helpful in decision making if I can see her detailed neurological examination ( motor & sensory examination - can be done by a physical therapist) so if you can send me these 2 things: - her mri images - her neurological status then I will be able to give an opinion. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hello, joint pain of hand and feet has many reasons, especially common in females of your age, try with simple pain killers and get your calcium and vitamin d 3 and b12 levels checked to start with. If any of these is abnormal or simple pain killers do not provide relief, you can revert back.
