I have problem in my teeth, sometime blood comes. What are the reason? how can I stop it?

MDS, BDS
Dentist, Guntur
There are many reasons for bleeding gums. It can also be simply because of faulty brushing and distorted bristles on your brush. But, most commonly bleeding gums are because of gum infection due to calculus deposits. Please visit the nearest dentist and get it treated.

For whiter teeth and preventing them from discoloration, muching on foods like apples, carrots, pears or celery after brushing is effective as they induce tooth-bathing saliva which whitens the teeth.

I feel jittery sometimes in my teeth when I eat something why is this happening? Its not sour or sweet but anything solid when I eat its happening is it because I my teeth are not clean.

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Hi lybrate-user, to get rid of the jittery feeling, the first and most important thing is that you teeth should be clean, and free from plaque (accumulated food debris) and stains. For that, you must get professional scaling/cleaning done from a dentist. Also, you will be required to use specific toothpastes. Take care.

Hello, it is always better to get the cap done over a root canal treated tooth. The tooth can get cracked under pressure. So visit a dentist and get it done.

We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray) to decide upon treatment. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Cavity has taken place in my chewing teeth and it pain alot along with the roots What should I do now?

BDS
Dentist, Lucknow
Treatment dental pain teeth pain may be due to various reasons like infection, sensitivity or trauma. If your teeth is decayed it is better to get it filled or treated by a dentist. If you are opting for root canal treatment do not forget to get a crown on the effected tooth. If you want to go for only medicinal treatment so let me tell you only medicine are not going to be very effective untill you get this treated by a dentist.

You can exercise for healthier gums as well. Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

Brand of toothpaste does not matter but the way you brush does!

I have been suffering with teeth related problems, mainly sensitivity now for a long time, but havent consulted a doctor till now. What is the best way to overcome the problem?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
A major cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling and / or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. Until then apply a desensitizing paste (sensodyne tooth paste) on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better. Advance procedures can be done with laser.

I am suffering from frequent attacks of mouth ulcers. Very often it is preceded by constipation but occurs even when there is no constipation. I have been advised to take more fibers but am confused about soluble and insoluble fibres. Please guide me on types and sources of fiber.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Go for whole-grain breads, cereals, and pastas. Cereal fibers generally have cell walls that resist digestion and retain water within the cellular structures. Wheat bran can be highly effective as a natural laxative.Eat plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and legumes such as beans and lentils. The fiber found in citrus fruits and legumes stimulate the growth of colonic flora, which increases the stool weight and the amount of bacteria in the stool. Encouraging the growth of certain bacteria in the colon may help promote a healthy intestine.

I had root canal in my childhood, it was fine until I noticed some pain there, when I went to the dentist she removed the cap and then the pain went away, I felt some sensitivity but it's fine now, nobody could figure out the cause of pain and sensitivity, now they are saying to cut some gum for crowning to better place the cap, is it advisable?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Get your cap fixed temporarily first. If no pain & sensitivity then get it permanently fixed. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning or a re root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser.
