There can be many reasons for it...1st you get an scaling done than....it might be an allergic gum disease... might be due to some new toothpaste you are using or due to aspirin burn or an skin disease...need your medical history..and a picture ...mail it if possible on drshailythakkar@gmail.com...if its a skin disease you will need a biopsy done of that area...

It seems infection spread into deeper part. There are chances that you need to go for root canal treatment of that tooth.

I loke brushing my teeth. I brush for nearly 10 minutes. Is it good to do so? I usually use patanjali dant kanti toothpaste. One of my friends told that you should not brush for more than two minutes because it might lead to removal of something called "enamel" Please assist!

Lybrate-user, the aim of brushing is to clean your teeth. It all depends on how diligently you are brushing your teeth. You may brush for ten minutes and still not clean your teeth properly. Use a proper recommended brushing technique and make sure you are brushing each surface of each tooth 3 to 4 times.

I am 72. A year back my molar tooth (leftside) extracted by a dentist after that I got a catching on the left side of tongue tip. Some stiffness there and the dentist said that it some time happen due to nerve problem during surgery and advised me to take nurokind plus. I am taking this medicine for the past 10 months and find no improvement in the condition. I seek your advice in this matter.

MDS
Dentist, Lucknow
Dear sir, concerned about your problem which appears to be a post operative complication of dental extraction. It is documented that the nerve regeneration of the damage occurs usually from 6 months to more time depending on the regeneration capacity of the individual. In your case it appears that if you feel no change in sensation after 10 months of the medication then u can ask your doctor for some other source of vit b complex but considering your age as a crucial factor inhibitng nerve regeneration it may take much more time than a growing body. Take care.

1. Brush at an angle to the gums- brush in circular or elliptical fashion. When brushing. , point the bristles of the brush towards the gum line at 45° angle. Pay special attention to the area where the teeth meet your gums..
2. Brush the outer surface of each tooth, upper and lower, keeping the bristles angled against the gum line.
3. Use the same method on the inside surfaces of all your teeth.
4. In case you cannot follow the above do visit us for demonstration of correct brushing ..

My teeth feel pain please tell me anything medicine?

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist,
My teeth feel pain please tell me anything medicine?
Pain may be due to cavity, abcess and gum disease or fracture. You need to go for proper investigation to rule out the cause of pain and to decide the treatment. For temporary relief from pain you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water. Or ibuprofen after meal. If cavity, get it filled or go for rct. Brush regularly two times daily. Rinse your mouth after eating anything.

Pain from a mouth ulcer generally lessens in a few days and the sores usually heal without treatment in about a week or two.If sores are large, painful or persistent, your dentist may prescribe an antimicrobial mouth rinse, a corticosteroid ointment, or a prescription or non-prescription solution to reduce the pain and irritation.

My root canal treatment is running now but some day I go for outside and right now pain to the my teeth so what can I do?

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist, Jamshedpur
My root canal treatment is running now but some day I go for outside and right now pain to the my teeth so what can I...
You need to recheck your rct. Because sometimes tooth opening is packed with cotton and some cements. Formation of pus inside the toth undergoing rct raises the pressure inside the tooth and causes pain. You can visit a doctor nearby to make an opening in packed tooth. So that pus can be released.

How many times should we brush our teeth?

You should brush twice daily is recommended but with a proper technique. If you brush properly before you sleep then you don't need to brush them for a longer time in the morning. Every one thinks brushing for a longer time will clean my teeth but that's not true. Twice is recomended.

Hii lybrate-user. Yellowish stain on tooth cannot be removed by tooth paste. You need to visit a dentist for scaling (professional cleaning).
