What Exactly Is Gastroenteritis?

Homeopath, Navi Mumbai
What Exactly Is Gastroenteritis?

What exactly is gastroenteritis?
Inflammation of the stomach and intestines due to bacterial or viral infection. It's also known as food poisoning or stomach flu

Why is it more common during summers?
Owing to this excessively hot climate, the food turns stale quickly. Although home cooked food is safe, but whatever we eat outside can easily give us this infection.

Symptoms:

  • Diarrhea (loose watery stools)
  • Projectile vomiting
  • Abdominal cramps
  • Headache
  • Mild fever
  • Dehydration and weakness due to excessive diarrhea and vomiting excess

Who's at risk?

  • People with a weak immune system
  • People who eat outside food very frequently

It can also spread through someone who is already infected and unclean hands.

How do I manage myself /family member suffering from this?

  • Avoid going out for at least 2 days as this cab easily spread to others
  • Take adequate rest
  • Drink plenty of water and rehydrating drinks like ors & electral
  • Eat only if you feel like, don't force food on yourself
  • Have only simple foods which are low on spices and oil and easy t digest (eg dal rice, khichdi, curd rice)

Last but not the least:
Seek advice from a homoeopath for a speedy and safe recovery

Hello, the best time to start solid for babies is from 6 months.Baby develops digestive enzymes in between 4-6 months.Start with a single food.either a fruit, vegetable or grains., avoid a mixture of food.you can start with mashed fruit first. fruit helps the baby to digest them better, after a week you can start rice water, after a week clear dal soup or boiled vegetable water. you can also try feeding ragi milk extracted from soaked ragi.consume milk after 2-3 hours. solid food should be served in between the feeds. avoid mixing milk and or any other ingredient in fruit.the combination of fruit and milk increase indigestion , loss of appetite , no weight gain.
