I have burning sensation in urinary tract. The symptoms increases after urination, after making intercourse, whenever there is any pressure in this area like during emptying bowel. Urine culture and other urine test came out normal. There is no bacterial infection found. Still suspecting uti, doctor prescribed rulizo 600 mg for 10 days and flavocip 200 thrice a day for 1 months. It has been 5 days I am taking rulizo 600 but there is no improvement in the symptoms. As I am already a patient of acidity and dyspepsia, nausea and acidity increases a lot although I am on ppi and some skin rashes appeared. It looks like they are side effect of rulizo. So I stopped the antibiotics after 5 days and continuing only flavocip. Please advise what is the reason of the burning sensation in urinary tract as tests did not reveal anything. Is it okay to stop rulizo after 5 days course.

Tips for removing kidney stones: 1. Avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, cold drinks, pickles, fish, poultry, meat, spinach, and chocolate. 2. Avoid sour, heavy, and dry food. 3. Increase intake of liquids like water, juice, soup, lime water lemon soda etc. 4. Be sure to drink enough water each day. Usually 1 to 2 liters of water per day is adequate. 5. Drink more if you are perspiring heavily, working outdoors, the weather is hot, etc. 6. Increase the use of barley, horse gram (a type of bean), ginger, and brown rice or parboiled rice. 7. Avoid suppressing urges to urinate and defecate. 9. Boil 10-12 basil leaves in 1 cup of water for 15 minutes. Mix 1 teaspoon of honey in it and take twice a day. Pls send your usg report becoz medication for stones depends upon size, number and location of stones and can be given after usg only.

Mr. lybrate-user. You have moderately enlarged prostate with residual urine volume about 54. Cc. Since when you are taking urimax-D it is a good drug. One thing you can try to reduce water intake after 6 pm your night frequency may reduce. please try this and contact me after 15 days, and also please don't go out in cold days avoid excess of alcohol if you are taking. Take bath with warm water and sit in warm water.

Dear , if you have been investigated before I would like see the reports especially bladder scan (kub). As a suggestion you may be constipated with a passage of hard stools and that may precipitate the attack. If so you will treatmnt for constipation.

Hi I am often suffering from urinary infection accompanied by sudden fever. I am regularly taking mortifer and tamcotin tablets. Yet the problem persists. I am diabetic to. Please advice for cure. I am 70 years old.

Dear , again first and foremost is to control diabetes very strictly and proper antibiotics. If the problem still persists then confirm or rule out urinary obstruc by usg and uroflowmetry. Even After ruling out obstruction and controlling diabetes then it is very likely that it is due to inadequately treated uti in the form of drug, dosage, duration and mode of taking medicines like with milk or after food or empty stomach. To cut the matter short you may consult urologist of repute. Dr. Kiran Mehta.

Mujhe last 8 years se urine problem hai baar baar toilet jana padta h & urine karte waqt jor lagana padta hai. Please do help.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS
Urologist, Ahmedabad
Dear , this could be due to many causes but 1. It can be irritative in nature mainly due to infection for which get urine examination done to see if the pus cells. Is pus cells are more than 5 then you have infection and antibiotics would be needed. Now find the reason for that urinary tract obstruction should be considered. For that sonography (kub) with full bladder volume, with wall thickness on full bladder and post micturition residual urine measurement is needed. Presence of residual urine indicates obstruction. If so then uroflowmetry is needed to decide between conservative line of management or surgery. Thirdly along with the results of these test let me know if you are constipated because fissure resulting from passage of hard faeces can also produce these symptoms due to external pressure created by the spasm of the sphincter muscle.

Dear, causes of kidney stones are * urinary infections * intake of less quantity of fluids & water * high intake of non vegetarian diets like eggs, red meat, fish. * high intake of calcium rich diet like milk tomatoes, spinach. * hormonal disorders (hyperparathyroidism) you should follow these very important and simple things to prevent stone formation & to get sure treatment of kidney stones: 1. First take a lot of fluid daily. The more you drink water and fluid, the less amount of deposit accumulate in kidney. So you have to make your kidneys healthy just only by drinking 2-3 liters (10-12 glasses) of water. 2. Stones are mainly formed of calcium and oxalate. So take very low quantity of milk, cheese, cream and dairy products. 3. Do not take strawberry, plum, spinach and tomatoes. These fruits and vegetables are rich in oxalate. So avoid them to prevent from kidney stones. 3. Stop taking supplementary vitamin d and calcium medication. 4. Avoid animal protein diet- eggs, red meat, fish in diet. 5. Take less amount of salt, pickle and western foods. They have high amount of sodium. So avoid it. 6. Urinary infection are also one of the cause of stone. So take proper antibiotic treatment of urinary infection on time. Even when you feelburning sensation or pain during urination, don't avoid it. Take medication as soon as possible. Transplanted kidneys can work for 10 to 15 years or even more if good care is taken. A repeat transplant with interim dialysis is possible before going for a retransplant. There are many factors on which the life of kidney depends and your nephrology team will be the best source for this information.

The Ideal Diet after a Kidney Transplant

A kidney transplant is a surgical procedure where your kidneys are cleansed and rebuild using the kidneys of a deceased person, in order to flush out the excessive waste fluids from the kidneys. It is of paramount importance and your dietary patterns and lifestyle should be altered after you go through a kidney transplant. Your dietician will help you out by preparing your diet chart to clearly list out the foods that you should consume and those which you should avoid after the surgery. The diet chart that would be prepared for you would be highly subjective and it would totally depend on your lifestyle, medical history, family health records, genetically transmitted conditions and such others. Apart from improving the condition of your kidney and assisting your transplant, the diet chart will also help you to lose weight, boost your metabolism and enhance your immune system. Some of the most common recommendations that your dietician may give you are as follows:

  • Eating at least 5 full servings of fresh fruits and vegetables each day as both are an important part of a healthy diet for a person who has just undergone a kidney transplant. The vegetables should mostly be eaten after cooking/boiling as per the suggestions of your dietician.
  • Having enough of fiber rich foods in your daily diet is essential as it speeds up the process of digestion and prevents constipation by promoting frequent and easy bowel movements.
  • If you are a non-vegetarian, then you should be going for lean meat alternatives which are low on fat and high on nutritional value. Examples of such meat are fishes and poultry. Additionally, you should also avoid all kinds of red meat as it is high on fat.
  • Consume low-fat milk and dairy products as they help to prevent the fat accumulation inside the body and also maintain an acceptable level of calcium and phosphorus inside your body.
  • Maintain a low level of iodized salt in your meals, as it helps to keep your blood pressure under control.
  • Over the counter health supplements like vitamins and proteins can also be taken, if recommended by your dietician.
