Hi, I am sorry to hear about your problem. Usually ureteric stones (stones in tube connecting kidney with bladder) are dangerous to kidneys, since they block the urine drainage from kidney and cause swelling of kidney (hydronephrosis). Most of the ureteric stones less than 7 mm will pass easily with medicines. Since your stone size is 9.2 mm, it is a little difficult to manage with medicines. However, medicines can be tried for a few weeks if the kidney function is good and swelling is not much. Only your treating urologist can decide on that. If it is causing damage to your kidney, then it needs to be removed using ureteroscopy (urs). Any ureteric stone if left untreated for more than 4 weeks will cause permanent damage to the kidney. Moreover, it can also damage the ureter (leading to ureteric stricture) at the place where it gets blocked. Usually small kidney stones less than 5 mm can be treated medically. Larger stones can get dissolved depending on their composition. Uric acid stones are easy to treat medically. After the treatment of ureteric stone, you can get treated for kidney stones using medicines. If they are not getting dissolved in 3 months, you can undergo flexible ureteroscopy with laser for complete stone removal. Wish you a good health,

General Physician,
Can prostate problem like (BHP or infection) affect morning erection. Doctor give me prostate alpha blocker medicine....
Alpha blockers are very effective in reducing urimary flow problems in prostatic hyperplasia and some of them also they help reducing size causing programmed cell death of cells. Now some of them like tamsulosin may cause retrograde ejaculation. Some of them cause dizziness, hypotension, priapism and impotence rarely. But they do not generally affect morning erection. Morning erection is physiological and occur when you wake up after rem sleep. Anxiety may be cause of absence of it. So stop overthinking about it consult your doctor if you have this problem for long.

What is her age? give her frequent sips of warm water, honey with warm water is beneficial to cold. Keep her properly hydrated. For bad breath ask her to brush twice a day, clean mouth after each meal--after any sweet dishes.

Kidney stones are a very common health problem. They form from the chemicals in urine, such as uric acid, phosphorous, calcium and oxalic acid. Other common causes of kidney stones are excessive consumption of vitamin D, a mineral imbalance, dehydration, gout and an improper diet Irrespective of the size of the kidney stones, they can cause severe pain. Other symptoms include a desire to urinate frequently, painful urination, nausea, vomiting and excessive sweating. Pomegranate Both the seeds and juice of pomegranates have astringent properties that can help in the treatment of kidney stones. ? Try to eat one whole pomegranate or drink one glass of freshly squeezed pomegranate juice daily. You can mix pomegranate in a fruit salad also. Another option is to grind one tablespoon of pomegranate seeds into a fine paste. Eat this paste along with a cup of horse gram soup once daily. This remedy will help dissolve the stones. Being high in fiber, kidney beans can be effective in the treatment of any kind of kidney or bladder problem, including kidney stones. ? Remove the beans from inside the pods, then put the beans in hot water. Simmer the water on low flame for hours until the beans become soft and tender. Strain the liquid and allow it to cool. Strain the liquid again. Drink it several times throughout the day to relieve kidney stone pain. This liquid should not be kept for more than 24 hours, as it will lose its therapeutic properties. ? You can also eat kidney beans in soup or salad. To conclude, you can try any of these natural remedies for treating kidney stones Ayurvedic medicenes are neeri syrup and calcury syrup and vrikkdoshhar vati for more queries inform me.

I am a 20 year old boy. I am suffering from slight pain during urinating due to cystitis, please help.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, DNB
Urologist, Bangalore
If it is slight pain during urination, it can be cystitis or urethritis (that is, inflammation of the bladder or urethra). If is persistent or severe you need to investigate with a urine analysis and urine culture. If it is reducing then you need not worry. If it happens repeatedly you may again investigate.

7 Reasons Behind Urinary Tract Obstruction!

DNB (Urology), MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Urologist, Delhi
7 Reasons Behind Urinary Tract Obstruction!

Lower Urinary tract obstruction refers to a condition of hindrance to urinary flow from bladder outwards. This can occur in all the age groups and affect either sex. The symptoms can be poor urine flow, intermittent flow, straining to pass urine or empty bladder, sense of incomplete emptying of bladder, difficulty in starting urination. Other problems can be increased urine frequency and difficulty to hold on with or without occasional urine leak in clothes. The cause and treatment vary in different age groups.

Few common reasons behind Lower urinary Tract Obstruction:

  1. Congenital Urethral Stricture and PUV: These defects can be detected either before or after birth and need correction at earliest to avoid long-term complications. It is usually brought to attention by parents who observe abnormal urine flow pattern of their child OR found out during evaluation for repeated urinary tract infections.

  2. Neurogenic Bladder: This is caused due to defects of nerves that are responsible for controlling bladder function. This can be due to diseases of brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves. These defects can occur by birth or later in life. It is very important to take early consult to avoid long-term complications and progression to renal failure.

  3. Urethral Stricture: This is narrowing in a long tube that starts from bladder to the external urinary opening. It can be idiopathic, post-traumatic, or due to urethral infections. Usually, a person is able to recognise poor urine flow and bring it to the attention of urologist. Treatment for stricture depends on various factors and range from simple endoscopic surgery to open surgeries.

  4. Bladder Neck Obstruction: Bladder neck is a network or a group of muscles that connect the bladder to the urethra. The muscles tighten to hold urine in the bladder, and relax as they release it through the urethra. Urinary tract obstruction occurs when there are abnormalities blocking the bladder neck that restricts its opening during urination.

  5. BPH: This occurs due to enlarged prostate obstruction urine flow out of bladder. Prostate enlargement is mostly age-related and rarely due to prostatic tumors. Urinary stones. This can be usually recognized by sudden obstruction to urine flow in person who was voiding normally. These episodes might be recurrent due to movement of stone in between bladder and urethra.

  6. Bladder Tumors: The are mostly characterized by blood in urine. Sometimes there might be blood clots that obstruct the urine flow.

  7. Phimosis: Phimosis is another major reason behind urinary tract obstructions.
