Ways to prevent Osteoporosis

There are many things to lower chances of developing osteoporosis. Lifestyle changes may be the best way to preventing osteoporosis.

Some of the tips were

- get enough calcium in diet like 1200mg/ day
- get enough vitamin - d

- exposure to sunlight for 10 to 15 min at least 2 to 3 times a week

- avoid an excess of alcohol

- engage in regular weight bearing exercises

I'm 29 year old and I'm suffering from knee problem. Its very difficult for me to run and climb stair case. I feel pain in my joints and there is a sensation of friction between the bones. There is no smoothness in my joints. I feel my cartilage is damaged. Tried drinking milk and had bone soup too but still facing the problem from a long time. I'm using knee cap regularly due to it feel little bit relaxed. Please help with the solution for this. I'm not too old for this. I want to keep running all my life.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Use of stimulant decreases the symptoms to a much good effect and if we don't give stimulant medication There will be more of conduct disorder and progress in disease and for side effects we have to monitor the person and advice them accordingly And spine block injection is effective for six months

Try this for joint pains try this. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.

Acute onset knee pain is most likely due to some injury, or overuse like excessive running or exercises. You can apply ice locally and take tab crocin painreleif 2 times a day for 5_7days. If symptoms don't improve we need todo basic investigation.

I am very frequent getting knee swelling in both the knees. It become very difficult to walk because I can't bend my knees due to huge swelling. After 4 to 5 days swelling disappear. GLUTEAL WEAKNESS !
Gluteal weakness may causes Knee pain.
Typical complain will be, pain only while climbing down the stair and walking down the slope.
Do proper strengthening of gluteal muscles (Abductors, Extensors and rotators of hip) for proper rehabilitation.

It was a case of mild frozen shoulder, inferential therapy and heat fermentation will help in reducing pain and fixing shoulder back to its position without any pain.

Dear lybrate-user, I would suggest you to apply hot water bag to the swollen and painful joints, If small joints like hand and foots are involved then Do hot water fermentation over joints and do mobility exercises for all joints. It will help you to improve your condition.

My left wrist was broken in an accident. After opening the plaster and after doing phisiotherapt or more than amonth, I cannot bend the wrist and the fingers fully. My hand is also weak. The accident took place 9 months ago.

The condition is called plantar fascitis, contrast bath that is cold pack followed by hot pack will help you and once you get up in the morning walk first 5 to 10 steps on your toes and then keep your heel. You can also consult a physiotherapist.
