Hi thanks for your query. Frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis is a condition in which shoulder movements get progressively decreased, it is commonly associated with diabetes although association with other conditions is also known. Treatment includes intensive physical therapy, short course anti inflammatory medications according to one' s suitability and maintenance of calcium/ vitamin d metabolism. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.

Hello mam, recently, I have been having back pain all day long and have been through an mri scan. Results shows of having'lumbar disc herniation. We were been suggested for physiotherapy. I have heard your name for effective treatments. Do you think physiotherapy will be a effective solution to this problem?

MBBS, MS - Orthopaedics

Backache is a common ailment. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1 tab odx10days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do ask for detailed treatment plan. Don? t ignore, lest it becomes starting point of a major problem.

Dear lybrate reader your pain in hands and especially joints are supposed to be due to rheumatoid arthritis or gout - for that we should know the whole detaile that for how long have you been suffering and level of uric acid to guide you properly - any way take plenty of fluid and avoids diet rich in proteins till the time you are not sure of your uric acid - esp non-veg and cereals also try to reduce your body weight at least 5kg. And do light exercise like simple walk to maintain yourself. Take proper medicine accordingly.

Dear you can do Joints pain k liyyye………………. Jumping into a workout without first warming up your muscles can increase joint pain, especially after age 40, says . As we age, our joint mobility and tissue flexibility decline; a thorough warm-up helps accommodate these changes. It doesn’t have to be long and it doesn’t have to complicated: Five minutes of light movement, like an easy walk, is all you need to get that blood flowing, warm up your muscles, and get them ready for the task at hand. Use a foam roller. Joint pain can feel worse when your fascia (the elastic, weblike matrix of fibrous connective tissue that supports, binds, or separates your other tissues, joints, and organs), becomes dry and brittle—something that happens as we age. Ideally, your fascia acts a cushion for your joints, and helps to protect them from impact during exercise, an exercise physiologist and creator of The Melt Method. The more hydrated your fascia, the more cushion you get. Creating gentle compression with a soft foam roller helps rehydrate your fascia by stimulating its cells and helping fluid move back into that tissue, While research shows that foam rolling before or after your workout can minimize discomfort, says that even doing it three times a week can reduce joint pain by about half. Get started with these 4 foam rolling exercises. 3. Shake things up. If you want to avoid overuse injuries—not to mention burnout and boredom—you know it’s not a great idea to do the same routine every single day. But mixing up your workouts is even more important if you have achy joints or arthritis, says Kruse. Muscles are involved in the control and function of joints; when they’re weak from overuse, your joint is forced to take on more impact. (So if you’re pushing through a run with overworked quads, for instance, you’re likely to feel it in your knees.) Instead, mix up high-impact activities, like running, with something a little more gentle—think swimming, biking, yoga, or Pilates—once or twice a week. I hope you will fittt and fine thnx dear…

I get tired easily whenever I play badminton and got pain in my joints. So please help me on this issue.
Have you ever felt pain in your great toe or may be ankle/foot/knee/heel/wrist/elbow which was intially in one joint and over the time involved other joints too. Then you might be having increased uric acid levels. Diet is important in such patients. Consume food less in purine content like cornflakes, white bread, pasta, flour, milk and its products, eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, green veggies and fruit juices. Strict no to all high purine foods like meats, seafood, beas, peas, lentils, spinach, cauliflower, mushrooms, beer and other alcoholic beverages.

Hello, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am dr akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias ( electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Please do not get too concerned with mri findings as a lot of people have mild disc bulges but need no intervention and improve with conservative management only. My brother has a problem in left knee, but doc says its fine, but ge can not run properly. please help me.
This is a general strain due to excessive walking or standing and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes. One time you can do hot water fermentation that would help to reduce the muscle strain.
