Dear user. FERTILE PHASE is the phase of a female's menstrual cycle when an egg (ovule) is released from the ovaries. In humans, ovulation occurs about midway through the menstrual cycle, after the follicular phase. The few days surrounding ovulation (from approximately days 10 to 18 of a 28 day cycle), constitute the most fertile phase. So if you have ejaculatory sexual inter course from day 10 from the first day of period and to day 20, the chances of pregnancy are much more. There are many determinants of pregnancy. You should be sexually matured. Your partner should be sexually matured. The period of your partner should be in the fertile stage. Her egg and your sperm cells should healthy enough. Then her uterus should be capable to get conceived. If all these were satisfied, the pregnancy could be a result. Take care.

Hello. If you don’t have any medical condition and if your diet is poor to begin with, it is even more important to make sure you have a healthy diet now. You need more vitamins and minerals, especially folic acid and iron. You need a few more calories during your pregnancy as well. Getting your diet right for pregnancy is more about what you eat than about how much. Limit junk food, as it has lots of calories with few or no nutrients. Eat a variety of foods from these different food groups each day: Milk and dairy products: skimmed milk, yogurt/curd, buttermilk (chhaach), cottage cheese (paneer). They contain calcium. Cereals, whole grains, dals, pulses and nuts: these are good sources of protein if you do not eat meat. Vegetarians need about 45 grams of nuts and 2/3 of a cup of legumes for protein each day. Vegetables and fruits: these provide vitamins, minerals and fibre. Avoid Papaya. Meat, fish and poultry: these provide concentrated proteins. Fluids: Drink lots of fluids, especially water and fresh fruit juices. Make sure you drink clean boiled or filtered water. Carry your own water when out of the house, or buy bottled water from a reputed brand. Avoid packaged juices as they have a very high sugar content. Fats and oils: Ghee, butter, coconut milk and oil are high in saturated fats, which are not very healthy. Hydrogenated vanaspati oil and ghee is high in trans fats, which are as bad for you as saturated fats. A better source of fat is vegetable oils because these contain more unsaturated fat. Foods to be avoided in normal pregnancy: Raw or partly cooked eggs, Raw or undercooked meat, Caffeine, Liver, Cold cured meats, Vitamin/fish oil supplements, papaya.

Vaginal Piercing - What the Possible Risks Involved?

MICOG, MS, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Vaginal Piercing - What the Possible Risks Involved?

Piercing is a form of body ornamentation. It involves the use of needles to pierce through the skin and attach a piece of jewellery to the skin. The purpose of piercing is to beautify and in case of genital piercing, it comes with the additional perks of sexual stimulation. However, this completely depends on individual preference. In the female genital anatomy, several parts are suitable for piercing. This includes the clitoral hood, the labia and the vulva vestibule.

How piercing should be done?
1. The skin around the area where the piercing is to be done must be cleaned with antiseptic.
2. A topical anaesthetic may be applied to temporarily numb the area to be pierced. This helps to control pain.
3. Any piercing must be carried out by a licensed, well-practised professional.
4. Piercing must be done with the use of new, unused, sterilized needles, which are easily disposable.
5. After-care must be provided immediately after the piercing. This includes the application of medicated healing creams, or an ice pack that relieves the pain of piercing. Typically a piercing should heal completely by the sixth week.

Risks associated with vaginal piercing
1. Wrong technique of piercing can lead to uncontrollable bleeding and wounds.
2. Poor placement of jewellery can cause the piercing to heal very slowly and painfully.
3. Poor sterilization of needles and unhygienic methods can cause severe skin infections and other complications.
4. Tearing of skin or sagging of the clitoral hood, or labia can occur due to the improper weight of the jewellery placed.
5. Spread of genital disease may occur if the piercer does not use gloves or antiseptic during the procedure.

Never opt for a piercing just because your friends are getting it done. A healthy method of getting pierced involves an understanding of your anatomy, skin type, tolerance of certain kinds of metal on your skin and extremely hygienic conditions. It sure is fashionable and may appeal to people with a different sense of aesthetics, but you must never ignore the risks. Do a thorough background check of the piercer you would like to visit and the possible after care products that you can use. It would also help to quickly get a check up done by a doctor before going ahead with the piercing. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

As I am not virgin I like dancing too much I do dance bhangra haryanvi daily as a exercise does it loosens my vagina.

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Hello- No it not. Natural exercise such as dancing , sporting activities running etc. provides a smooth and from muscle tone to the each and every muscle of the body, so it will make your vagina tight and more flexible, which is good thing in the case of females. However false practice such as masturbation or fingering makes vagina loose and breaks the virginity layer hymen in some cases.

What are the necessary precautions to be followed during the period of pregnancy?

MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
What are the necessary precautions to be followed during the period of pregnancy?
The first trimester of pregnancy is a very sensitive period as the foetus is in its early developmental stage. It is the time when the major organs are in the initial formation stage, not to forget the development of the body systems. Therefore, adequate precaution needs to be taken so that the foetal development is not disrupted at any cost. It is not that you need to live in a bubble and keep worrying about its safety, or stay stationed on your couch during these first three months. It is just that you must be well informed and take the necessary sensible precautions.avoid alcohol, smoking, sea food coffee, hot water bath or sauna bath, medicine and herbs. thanks

6 Ways Botox is Beneficial to You!

6 Ways Botox is Beneficial to You!

Botox, derived from Clostridium Botulinum, is a cosmetic treatment often used to smooth wrinkled skin. Botox was originally used to treat spasms as it has muscles freezing qualities. Eventually it was discovered that Botox could cure the wrinkles present in the corner of the eyes, which are famously known as the crow's feet and as well as the superficial wrinkles just because it possessed the muscle freezing property.

In today's world, everyone is conscious about getting wrinkles or any other ageing signs. Eventually you will have to deal with them. But until it is absolutely obligatory for you to embrace those signs, Botox is an extremely efficient cosmetic treatment to control them.

Here are the different ways in which Botox is beneficial to you:

  1. Botox is nonsurgical: Botox can help you to get flawless skin without any surgery. Botox is administered into your skin in the form of injections. Hence, the hassle of going through a surgery is totally unnecessary.
  2. Botox lifts your eyebrow: Your eyebrow may drop due to various factors like age or lifestyle. Botox helps lift your drooping eyebrows; giving you a fresher and youthful look.
  3. Botox reduces excessive sweating: Excessive sweating can be extremely embarrassing at times, especially if it is under the arms. To be saved from this embarrassment, you can take a Botox shot and it will reduce the amount of sweat produced in your body, hence preventing excessive sweating.
  4. Botox can help with migraines: If you are suffering from migraine headaches, you might consider taking a Botox shot, as it may help reduce your headache and decrease their recurrence. It is extremely beneficial for those who suffer from chronic headaches during one such migraine attack.
  5. Botox helps with eye spasm: Botox helps cure strabismus, diplopia and blepharospasm. Botox relaxes the eye muscles so that they do not work against each other and let the defected muscles heal.
  6. Botox cures overactive bladders: Suffering from an overactive bladder can cause a lot of inconvenience. If you are suffering from a case of bladder incontinence, then you can think about getting a Botox shot. Botox increases the volume of the bladder thereby, reducing the incontinence. Once you get a shot, the overactive bladder will be cured gradually.

Although Botox has many benefits, it is still advised you consult your doctor before taking up the treatment.

My last period is 19th januvary now26th my periods1st day then wat is the my safety period?

Homeopath, Kurnool
The 8th to 21st day of the menstrual cycle counting from first day is considered as fertile period or the UNSAFE period. Days other than this are considered SAFE, that is, the 1st-7th day of the cycle and then again from the 22nd to the 28th day. But this may not exactly be correct for all women though. It depends on the length of their menstrual cycle . This calculation only holds good if the woman has a exact 28 day cycle or maybe slightly lesser than that. If the cycle is longer than that, it isn?t reliable.

8 Symptoms & Risk Factors Of Uterine Prolapse

MBBS, DGO
Gynaecologist, Delhi
8 Symptoms & Risk Factors Of Uterine Prolapse

The uterus, or womb, is a muscular structure and is held in place by ligaments and pelvic muscles. If these muscles or tendons become weak, they cause prolapse and are no longer able to hold the uterus in its place.

Uterine prolapse happens when the uterus falls or slips from its ordinary position and into the vagina, or birth waterway. It could be complete prolapse or even incomplete at times. A fragmented prolapse happens when the uterus is just hanging into the vagina. A complete prolapse depicts a circumstance in which the uterus falls so far down that some tissue rests outside of the vagina. Likewise, as a lady ages and with a loss of the hormone estrogen, her uterus can drop into the vaginal canal. This condition is known as a prolapsed uterus.

Risks: The risks of this condition are many and have been enumerated as follows:

  1. Complicated delivery during pregnancy
  2. Weak pelvic muscle
  3. Loss of estrogen during menopause causes atrophy of uterus
  4. Excessive straining on the abdomen and pelvic area ex. Chronic cough, chronic constipation, etc.
  5. Being overweight
  6. Obesity causing extra strain on the muscles
  7. Pelvic surgeries in the pelvic zone
  8. Smoking

Symptoms: Some of the most common symptoms of prolapse involve:

  1. Feeling of sitting on a ball
  2. Abnormal vaginal bleeding
  3. Increase in discharge
  4. Problems while performing sexual intercourse
  5. Seeing the uterus coming out of the vagina
  6. A pulling or full feeling in the pelvis
  7. Constipation
  8. Bladder infections

Nonsurgical medications include:

  1. Losing weight and getting in shape to take stress off of pelvic structures
  2. Maintaining a distance from truly difficult work
  3. Doing Kegel workouts, which are pelvic floor practices that strengthen the vaginal muscles. This can be done at any time, even while sitting down at a desk.
  4. Taking estrogen treatment especially during menopause
  5. Wearing a pessary, which is a gadget embedded into the vagina that fits under the cervix and pushes up to settle the uterus and cervix
  6. Indulging in normal physical activity

Some specialists use the following methods to diagnose the problem:

  1. The specialist will examine you in standing position keeping in mind you are resting and request that you to cough or strain to build the weight in your abdomen.
  2. Particular conditions, for example, ureteral block because of complete prolapse, may require an intravenous pyelogram (IVP) or renal sonography. Color is infused into your vein, and an dye is used to view the flow of color through your urinary bladder.
  3. An ultrasound might be utilised to rule out any other existing pelvic issues. In this test, a wand is used on your stomach area or embedded into your vagina to create images of the internal organ with sound waves. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gynaecologist.

It is in the 4th week that you can get to know if you are pregnant or not. If a blood or urine test detects the presence of human chorionic gonadotrophin hormone (hcg) i.e. the pregnancy hormone, then it's time to celebrate!
