KEGEL EXERCISES
Kegel exercises are designed to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. These
muscles support the bladder and bowel openings in both men and women.
Strengthening the muscles of the pelvic floor can aid in preventing leakage of
urine or feces with coughing, sneezing, lifting, and other stressful movements.
Other benefits of kegels include enhanced sexual function, conditioned muscles
to make childbirth easier, decrease and/or prevent prolapse of pelvic organs,
and improve the ability to pass stool.

Who should do Kegel Exercises?
? Women and men with urinary and /or bowel incontinence
? Women and men who have demonstrated weakening of the pelvic floor
? Pregnant women or women who have previously had children
? Middle aged and older women
What you need to know about Kegel Exercises
The success of Kegel exercises depends on the use of proper technique as well
as compliance to a regular exercise program. When doing the exercises, it is
important to identify the correct muscles of the pelvic floor. At first, most
people contract the abdominal or thigh muscles while neglecting the pelvic
floor muscles. This may actually worsen pelvic floor tone and incontinence.
Kegels may be done as a part of biofeedback, when some patients require
assistance. Biofeedback consists of placing a sensor on the abdomen and
around the anal area, which measure the contraction of the pelvic floor
muscles. Occasionally, an electrode may be placed in the vagina in women, or
in the rectum in men.

Three Steps to an Effective Kegel
? Learn to tighten the muscles around the vaginal/anal area
? Contract the vaginal and rectal muscles. Note that when you perform
steps 1 and 2 correctly, you should also feel the muscles around the anus
tighten slightly. This is normal, but do not consciously try to tighten
those muscles.
? In a quiet, relaxed setting with no distractions, practice your Kegels and
determine how long you can hold your contraction and how many you
can do before becoming fatigued. Do not do more than 5-10 reps at time
with a 3-5 second hold.

Detailed Instructions on how to do Kegels:
Step #1: The urethra?The Functional Stop Test
After partially emptying your bladder, stop your urine flow in a slow controlled
manner, paying attention to how it feels.
Note: Stopping and starting the urine repeatedly as an exercise can be harmful
and should not be done. Holding your urine can contribute to bladder
infection, causing damage to normal urinary reflexes. The Functional Stop Test
is useful for assessing what it feels like to gradually stop urine flow, and should
not be done more than once per urination.
Step #2: The vagina and rectum as your window to the pelvic floor
For this step, you will internally assess the ability to squeeze and elevate the
muscles around the opening of the vagina or rectum, while lying on your back.
This is accomplished by inserting one finger into the vaginal or rectal opening
while you try to lift and squeeze with the muscles. Pay attention to how this feels.
Step #3: Putting it all together
Begin practicing while lying on your back with your knees bent, or lying back
with pillows under your head and shoulders. When your knees are bent you
should have pillows under them so that the muscles around the hips and
buttocks can relax. In this position, you can practice the actual Kegel, which
involves lifting and tightening the pelvic floor all at one time. This will be a
combination of what you felt when you gradually stopped urine flow, with the
feeling squeezing and elevating the muscles around the vaginal or rectal area.

How long and how many?
When you are first starting out, it is common to find that you can only hold a
Kegel for 3-6 seconds, and that performing 3-6 repetitions causes muscle
fatigue. When this happens, you are usually performing the exercise correctly.
If you find you can hold it for much longer right away, recheck your technique.
For patients with incontinence or pelvic floor weakness, it is important to
concentrate on correctly performing the technique and gradually improving the
muscle quality and tone, even though you may be weak first starting out.
Making Kegels a part of your life
After you have become experienced in performing these exercises, you will
want to do them as follows:
? A series of strong, steady squeezes for 8-10 seconds each ? Try to do 8-10 at a time
? For most people, 30 repetitions per day are adequate.
As they get easier, you will find you can do them while sitting or standing, for
example, you can do them while driving, working on the computer, or waiting in
long lines.
Please note that you may not see any noticeable change in bowel / bladder
control for a while. In some cases it may be many months.

Any event gives u lesson in life and life move on because it is never static . See postivity in it u r disturbed, u r in mental pain, this pain will keep on remembering of ur failure but if u will remain in self pity .. U will left behind by others, gone by gone by have firm believe in ur self start the things with new vigour, u will see after some time ur peer group will respect of ur postivity if u remain negative slowly ur all freind wear off.. Check sugar level. Medicine german reckeweg heper sulph 200, single dose (4-5 drops in mouth) morning. Next calc sulph 6x / 6 tabs 3 times a day will cure you food mixed fruit juice daily evening. Please continue treatment.

Home treatments for healthy hair make a paste of henna, curd, soaked and ground fenugreek, ground hibiscus flowers, ground gooseberries, and egg (all of them or any one) and apply it onto the hair and scalp for about an hour before shampooing. Done regularly, this will make your hair stronger and better-looking. But remember that henna is suitable only for dark colored hair because it tints hair red. Wash the hair out with decoction of tea or a bit of lemon squeezed into the water in which you will bathe. (for dandruff). Apply coconut or almond oil. If doing this daily does not appeal to you, apply the oil on the scalp overnight before shampooing, or apply a drop to the top of your head before you comb out your hair.

Is it true sir that excessive amount of sugar consumption leads to hair loss and also that normally diabetes patients avoids sugar in their diet. The condition of diabetes means not to take much calories food right it doesn't mean to avoid intake of sugar with out any restriction on intake of food.

Follow these best tips to get relief from stomach problem - *take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. *take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening. * take 1 tea spoon of liv-52 syrup daily one time. * walk for atleast 15-20 minutes daily and avoid long duration continuos sitting. * avoid taking nonveg at night & in day time after taking food, do not sleep in day.

Only one product in india this product may remove insulin. Noni syrup 10 ml in a glass of normal water stir well and consume in 2to3 minutes after 30 minutes take meals mor and night. Continue your insulin test your sugar after 7 days. If sugar reduce then reduce insulin uites accordingly. Test weekly and reduce insulin it's comes zero then stop insulin and continue noni for long time. Feedback to me monthly.

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. Dear Lybrate user,• Do not take stress and take proper sleep of 6 - 7 hours. Add protein containing items in your foods such as take a bowl of cereal daily, and a glass of milk also. You can eat cheese or soya protein. • Eat healthy fruits and green leafy vegetables daily. *You can massage daily with oil it increase blood circulation and prevent hair from whitening. • Avoid the use of products such as hair colors or excessive shampoo. •In a bowl, mix two eggs, honey and some coconut oil. Apply it on your scalp and leave it for 20 minutes, then rinse with a mild shampoo.*Avoid more salt, spicy, dry, maida related foods, Avoid more tea, coffee. *Practice yoga, meditation, breathing exercise.*Consume gooseberries daily in empty stomach.

Hi. If you can follow some basic things then you will get better results in a short period of time, 1) drink only 100-150 ml of lukewarm water during meals, 2) don’t drink water before meal for one hour and one hour after meal, 3) avoid oily, spicy, junk, fermented and stale foods, 4) avoid late night sleeping habits, 5) avoid coffee and tea, A) take 30ml of BHRUNGARAJASAVAM and 30 ml of water and 1 TSF of jaggery after meals, B) apply equal quantity mixture of aloe vera juice and divya godhan ark of patanjali ayurveda in the roots of hairs…. Leave it for 30-45 minutes…. After that wash hairs with ROOTZ SHAMPOO (rajah ayurveda) three times in a week, do all things for 30 days. These things are much more effective, avoid use of any shampoo and hair oil…for 30 days…THANKS.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem. Weight reduction can not be done over night. You have to take it as a way of life. Do diet control. No sugar in tea, coffee, milk etc. No sweets take small frequent feeds. When you get used to it, skip one meal. You should do non weight bearing yoga exercises.

According to Ayurveda, ashwagandha (scientific name: Withania somnifera), also known as Indian ginseng, helps increase height. Ashwagandha contains various minerals that broaden the bone skeleton as well as its density. This in turn increases your height. You can easily find ashwagandha in an herbal store. 1. Mix two tablespoons of ashwagandha powder in a glass of warm cow’s milk. 2. Add sugar or jaggery according to your taste and mix well. 3. Drink it every night before going to bed at least for 45 days to increase your height. 4. Note: For this remedy to work, you must avoid fast food completely. 2. Drink Milk Milk is rich in calcium, an important mineral for bone growth. Calcium also acts as a height booster. Besides calcium, milk has vitamin A and protein that are essential for overall development of the body, including height. To increase your height by a few inches, drink at least two to three glasses of milk daily. In addition, eating dairy foods like cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt and cream can have an effect on height.Do regular exercise daily, yoga, streching your body, sound sleep, all will help. Thanks

My mother is 49 a housewife suffering from diabetes from last two years. Her uertus was removed five years before as she was diagnosed with tumors in uterus. Since then she feels her feet painful as she has to walk and work the whole day which is very difficult. She has fungal infection in her nails which make her nails discoloured, like falling off the finger tips. Her sugar level remains 70 empty stomach and 110-120 with food. She has pure veg simple punjabi diet. Sometimes feel the joints pain in case of excessive walking. Her feetache is main problem.
