•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too.

He is a chain smoker. His teeth has become yellowish in colour what to do and what precaution s should he take.
Cause of discoloration ? Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling and / or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I do brush daily two time in day. But after sometime mouth taste is change .taste change in to matilic. I do not understand that why change.

BDS, MDS
Dentist, Gorakhpur
Its good that you brush twice but even brushing multiple times will not remove the causative agents once they are adhered to tooth surface (tartar, plaque, calculus). So you visit a dentist and get ultrasonic scaling and polishing done (remember it has no substitute, no home remedies, learn proper brushing technique by the dentist, use Listerine mouthwash twice daily. Clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner on daily basis. See the best results afterwards. I assumed that you are not taking any antibiotics, any tobacco related habit which can cause altered taste and bad smell.

Brush twice a day and floss daily even when your braces are on. The food particles get stuck into the braces very easily. It is very important to keep them clean.

I brush my teeth regularly and also have the habit of chewing gums and mints but still I have a horrible breath. Yes, when I was younger I had a habit of irregular brushing Any suggestions please.

Hi, there are various reasons of bad breath, like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently.

Exude Confidence With Invisalign-Clear And Virtually Invisible Solution For Straightening Your Teeth.

Exude Confidence With Invisalign-Clear And Virtually Invisible Solution For Straightening Your Teeth.

Invisalign The Clear Alternate to Braces

The Invisalign System is a virtually invisible treatment that uses an innovative approach to effectively straighten teeth. Invisalign treatment uses a series of custom made removable aligners with unique Smart Force technology that gradually moves your teeth to the ideal position.

How does the Invisalign System work?

Step1- Initially, your Invisalign-trained doctor will take photos, Xrays if required. Then a digital scan or impression is taken to create treatment plan.

Step2- these records are used along with the treatment prescribed by your dentist to create a customised 3D treatment plan just for you. You will be able to see the final position your teeth are predicted to reach after your treatment. This plan is used to develop your customised aligners and also estimate the likely length of your treatment. You can decide to proceed for the treatment at this stage.

Step3-The customised aligners will be manufactured and shipped to your doctors office.

Step4- Your series of custom made aligners will be given to you(typically 3-4 sets a time) for you to wear everyday n change as told by your doctor.

Step5-You will be visiting your doctor 6-8 weeks to monitor the progress and receive the next series of aligners.

Step6- After you have finished with the treatment, you may need to use retainers to help make sure the new position of your teeth are maintained.

Advantages-

  • Invisalign clear aligners are removable ,making it easier to brush, floss and maintain your oral health.
  • Invisalign treatment may give you visible results from as early as the first month of treatment.
  • Attend functions and events in confidence as Invisaligns are virtually invisible, nobody would notice you are having your teeth straightened.
  • Or you can take them off for few hours and wear them again post your meeting.
  • With doctor visits only every 6-8weeks, Invisalign clear aligners are ideal even for a hectic lifestyle.
  • Craving a snack? Since Invisalign clear aligners are easily removable, you have the freedom to eat, chew and drink whatever you like.

Treatable cases

Gapped Teeth- when there is considerable space between at least teo of your teeth, and can cause gum problems.

Crossbite- When upper and lower jaws are both misaligned and reverse leading to wear n tear n thus bone loss

Overbite-when upper teeth bite over lower teeth.

Underbite-when lower teeth protrude past the front upper teeth  ,preventing normal function

Overcrowding-when there is lack of room with in jaw for all your teeth to fit normally, leading to plaque accumulation thereby weakening gums.

Open bite- when upper and lower teeth are unable to make physical contact when the jaws are closed, making chewing and even talkin difficult.

Never use clove oil directly at site of pain as it irritates tissue and burns it due to its concentration. Warm water salt gargle and qudrajel ointment if you don't get exact ointment try to find where ever it will be available it will work wonder instead of all those garlic or clove or disprin.

2. A diet that is rich in vitamins, minerals and fresh fruits and vegetables can help prevent gum diseases.

Flossing is as important as brushing on a daily basis. Taking the floss all the way down to the point where the teeth and gums meet is the appropriate way of doing it.
