Dear Sir, Redness in your eyes maybe due to infection or allergy or even dry eyes. Each of them has a completely different treatment which can be decided only once you are examined by the eye doctor. Pls visit an Eye surgeon close to you at the earliest. Mostly none of these conditions require any oral Tablets so pls do not self prescribe any medication.

My left eye flickers. I am observing it from many weeks. What could be the reason?
The most common reason would be eye fatigue for example due to lack of sleep or excessive work on the computer. It is advisable to immediately take a break from work whenever this occurs. Sometimes it maybe due to dryness- this will require drops for relief but the nature of drops will depend on the level of dryness, which can be treated only after a check up from the eye doctor. Often, an undiagnosed spectacle power may also cause eye strain and produce this problem. Best to get yourself checked by an eye surgeon closest to you.

You seem to be having dry eyes. The treatment requires lubricating eye drops. However you need to be checked by an eye doctor because sometimes additional medications maybe required as well (e.g. If there is associated allergy in the eye or a small spectacle number which has been missed and is producing these symptoms)

Hi, I am a 22 year old girl, my height is 5'3 and my weight is 40 kg. Since last 2-3 days my right eye is twitching almost continuously for several hours a day. I wear glasses of power -1.75 in both eyes. What is the cause of this eye twitch?

Hello, Twitching in your eye maybe as simple as fatigue or you may have dry eyes. First of all rest yourself well and sleep well to see if your symptom goes off. If not then do get a check up from an eye doctor who can rule out dry eye and give you some lubricant eye drops to resolve the same.

Hello lybrate-user, you seem to have symptoms that are typical of migraine. This is a particular variant of headaches which are similar to what you described. This needs urgent attention. You need to visit a neurophysician immediately, and he/ she may ask for an mri in the first step (to rule out if there is any underlying cause in the brain) if not, then you will be started on specific anti migraine treatment. Please avoid coffee/ cheese/ chocolates as these are common triggers apart from anything specific to you eg, loud noise / sunlight / etc.

Hello, your eye infection needs a proper evaluation by an eye doctor, after which necessary anti microbial drops can be prescribed and their frequency will depend on the severity of the infection. Occasionally you may have enlarged lymph nodes in the pre auricular area (area in front of the ear) due to certain infections. If the neck is swollen it will need to be examined immediately. Pls visit an eye surgeon immediately.

Hello allergy and infection are 2 different entities. In case she has had an insect bite, it is most likely to be allergic in nature, and this will require anti allergic eye drops if the interior of the eye is involved. Externally you can start ice/ cold water compresses for immediate relief but pls visit an eye surgeon. Sometimes the swelling in the allergy can have a superadded infection. These conditions require medications after examining by an ophthalmic surgeon.

Your history seems to suggest you already have a skin allergy. It is most likely that you may have an eye allergy as well. For mild watering, simple lubricating eye drops will suffice. If more severe, it will require anti allergics. Pls visit an eye surgeon who can assess the severity of the condition and prescribe medication accordingly.

This seems most likely to be dry eye. Constant strain on your eyes, coupled with stress maybe causing the headaches. You can start some lubricating eye drops to soothe the eyes. However, a number check up is recommended as well, to ensure it is not any change in spectacle power thats causing these symptoms.

Hi. Am student of computer science I have to sit for many hours. My eyes starts itching and sometimes I do get the headache. I thought it may be for migraine and took the prescribed medicine. But the problem still continues. What should I do.

Computer vision syndrome is a commonly seen eye problem in the current generation. You need to take frequent breaks while on the pc. Use the 20-20. I. E. After every 20 minutes, take a break of 20 seconds, change your focus i. E. Look at a distant object so your eye muscles which are strained due to focusing on the system will relax, and if you wish you may splash your eyes with cold water. Computer vision problems also produce dry eyes so you can start some lubricating eye drops.
