Dental Treatment is not expensive...Ignorance definitely is!!!

Hello sir, I am having pain in my tooth since 10 days which relieves after taking medicine. please suggest me the best treatment.?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need root canal treatment. Until then apply clove oil on the decayed tooth. Rinse frequently with mouth wash. Advise c. Amox 500mg 1-1-1, thrice daily, t. Metrogyl 400mg 1-1-1, thrice daily, t. Imol 1-1-1, thrice daily (contraindicated in conditions with gastric ulcer, asthma, wheezing, allergy), c. Becosules 1-0-0 once daily all for 3 days only. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Goggle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Using an appropriate tooth paste is very necessary for the health of our teeth. Tooth pastes which contain flouride help in keeping the teeth healthy by reducing the risk of tooth decay.

REGULAR DENTAL VISITS CAN DO MORE THAN KEEPING YOUR SMILE ATTRACTIVE.

I am 47 seven years old male. I was using gutkha since 15 years, I left gutkha from 24. 02. 2015 completely. Now I am able to open my mouth only 1/2 inch wide. Please suggest.

BDS
Dentist, Lucknow
You seem to be suffering from osmf. Visit a dentist & get the exact situation evaluated. Buy if the opening is only 1/2 inch as you described, a surgical intervention is necessary.

What to do to take care of teeth which are yellowish n getting holes (cavity) between two teeth?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply snowdent paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

I have a decayed third molar should I restore it with amalgam filling or have to under go extraction.

BDS
Dentist, Lucknow
Only an x ray can decide whether you need to go for filling or extraction. If u want yo go for filling then choose tooth colored filling as amalgam leads to secondary caries. And it's too d acted then opt for extraction

My daughter is 7 yrs old. Her upper milk teeth had fall down on 14th may15 and permanent teeth has not come up tilldate. Is it normal or I have to take her to dentist.

Sometimes it may take 2-3 months in the eruption of permanent tooth after shedding of milk tooth. You can wait for 1 month, after that go to the dental surgeon.

While taking oral medicine for diabetes as prescribed by doctor, if there is change in vision, how long does it take the vision to stablise?

MDS
Dentist, Chandigarh
High blood sugar causes the lens of the eye to swell, which changes your ability to see. To correct this kind of blurred vision, you need to get your blood sugar back into the target range. For many people this is from 70 mg/dl to 130 mg/dl before meals and less than 180 mg/dl one to two hours after the start of a meal. Ask your doctor what your personal target range should be. Blurred vision can also be a symptom of more serious eye problems. If your vision is blurred, contact your doctor.

Seeing to the complaint I noticed that there is bone loss, flap surgery is the procedure to be performed along with adding bone graft but if the bone is angular then the bone graft will resist on the bone, once if you can send me your full mouth xray I can tell you otherwise see a dentist.

My friend has a problem of gum bleeding at anytime many people says her infect her mom also say her that she has Pyorea. Please advise.

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Bleeding gums can be a sign of early gum disease. She needs to get a professional cleaning of your teeth done to remove any accumulated tartar. This should solve her problem. After that regular day to day care like twice a day brushing and vigorous rinsing after any food will keep your gums and teeth healthy.

Sugary foods should be consumed in limited quantities as the bacteria in dental plaque changes them into acids.
