Avoid strain and do ice and cold pack then apply pain relief ointment if it work then ok otherwise tk physiotherapy tens therapy and ultrasonic therapy for few days.

Hello has a right elbow fracture at two month back and implanted two plate .but within two month one plate was broken and for resurgery to exchange the plate was suggested. Now is it safe to make resurgery within this short period.

Yes! definitely you have to get operated. As two plate implanted means it's mostly t y type elbow injury. And it's major surgery that you have undergone. As you said one of plate broken. In this situation to avoid your future communications regarding elbow that means flexion extension and rotation. You have get operated.

Hello sir, hope your mother is doing well. She is diabetic, apart from that does she have hypertension. Change in the medication can help her in reducing the swelling, consult her diabetologist regarding that. You can help her by encouraging her to move her ankle up & down, in & out and rotation clockwise & anticlockwise. Also, propping her leg by putting 2-3 pillow under the heel when she is lying flat on her back can help. Do this 2-3 time for 30 min each, or as convenient for her.

1.Hot Fermentation over the painful shoulder for 10-15 min. Twice a day 2.Active shoulder movements within the painfree range. 10 reps 3.Wall press with shoulder anteriorly and sideways. 10 sec hold and 10 reps 4.Ultrasonic therapy over the painful point 5.Electrotherapy for 15-18 mins over the painful shoulder. 6.Precaution: Avoid sleeping on the affected shoulder, Avoid lifting any weight with the affected shoulder.

How To Avoid Running Injuries?

If you are an avid runner, then you might also be well aware of the type of running injuries one is prone to. It might be foolish to say that running injuries can be prevented. It is because these injuries do happen quite often. Though these cannot be prevented, these can definitely be treated. Furthermore, precautions from your side can always be taken to make sure that these injuries do not cause a major impact on your health and can be cured without much of a hassle. Here are some important points that you need to remember to avoid running injuries or to lessen their adverse impact on your body.

  1. Flexible Body: Flexibility is an important part of a runner’s body. You not only need to have the stamina to run, but also must possess flexible features to get you out swiftly from any serious damage. Flexibility is attained when you do regular exercises and stretching in particular. It makes your muscles resilient towards many injuries and provides your body a better shape and long lasting stamina as well.

  2. Strengthen Your Body: Body strength is required if you want to avoid any sports injuries. Special strength training sessions are organised with the coaches of sportspersons. These sessions help in building up muscle strength. This would, in turn, lessen muscle fatigue and make you able enough to perform better.

  3. Balanced Diet: It does not matter whether you are an athletic or not, a balanced diet is needed for everyone. Balanced diet does not mean picking and choosing of food. It means a proper diet chart, mapping everything that your body needs to stay fit. Furthermore, it should contain ample amount of water to keep you hydrated.

Usually mechanical back pain reduces by extension exercises. 1. Lie on your stomach for 5 minutes. Take deep breath 2. From same position prop up your upper body over elbow (the way you read a book in bed lying on your bed): 5 min 3. In standing keep your hand in the belt line and bend backwards. 10 repetition every 2 hours. Drink a lot of water and do not bend forward. Hope this helps.

I am 51 years old, at menopausal stage. Sometimes feel hungry even after eating full meal and sometimes don't feel hungry at all because of which my weight gets added easily. I am 80 kgs though I walk everyday for minimum 1 hour a day on week days and 2 hours a day on weekends. I doubt that the weight gain causes knee pain. In addition to that I get knee swelling after every exhaustive day or strenuous work. Please advise.

better watch out. menopausal weight gain is physiological @ half kg per year or may be more and it is hormonal and non reversible. you are right ,walking more does cause knee pain as weight is carried by lower limbs. do exercises which involve entire body. get a stable cycle with rowing and exercise at home-cycling is less strenous than walking. eat healthy ,may be one meal a day. rest of the day only seasonal vegetables and fruits in plenty. lemon juice/apple cider vinegar do burn fat. yoga can help tone up muscles and help reduce weight too.

Mr. Lybrate user, yes, that advise is good to fllow, you need to practce pranayama daily twice[morning night]. There are types of pranayamas, like anuloma, & viloma. Its better to take any yoga therapist/instructor/s help,& also, you better to do few asanas, atleast practicing suryanamaskaras daily minimum 4-5 times also will give good results. Take care. Try to take water atleast 3-4 litres. Irrespective of thirst, daily. Taking 1/2litres [or 1 litre}in morning itself is good cleanser for body.

Back pain could be because of muscle spasm or soft tissue injury in day to day life. Take 8 sessions of S.W.D followed by spine mobility and strengthening exercise, consult physiotherapist for same.

Hello lybrate user back pain annoy and tends to upset daily routine, your improper posture while working, standing, sitting, study time, bending etc. Could be responsible for that. I would like to suggest you do firstly correct your posture and take healthy diet full with nutrients. Take plenty of water, do regular back exercises under supervision of well experienced physiotherapist.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.
