According to ayurveda, for treatmnet of obesity, you firstly stop causative factors from your life style. Like drinking too much cold water, eat too much sweets, day sleep, water after meal, lack of exercise, curd, menda etc. I will need your detail history. Till you can follow this * start drinking hot water * stop day sleep * start any exercise in morning, like suryanamaskar, walking, joging, sports * drink juice of turmeric n ginger with honey * take jau barley, instead of ghenhu wheat. * use cow ghee n milk only * boild rise in open pot, don't use cocker. Withdraw water if rice. Don't sit in one position for more than 1 hour. Take rest for 5 min. Walk little & start work. Take hot steam twice a day.

I am 57 years male. Suffering left side shoulder pain. While riding in scooter, private bus touched back side of my scooter and I have kept in balance without falling. That time onwards I am feeling left side shoulder pain.

Hello, duchenne muscular dystrophy is x linked recessive disorder. Which means female can be carrier of the disease but remain unaffected from the disease & can pass on the disease to their son. Unfortunately there is no effective treatment for the condition. As far as diagnostic tests are concerned raised C kinase level in blood indicates Muscular dystrophy. Deficiency of dystrophy protein also indicates DMD. You can also go for muscle biopsy hopefully it clears you doubt.

Hi . I think you may be suffering from plantar fascitis or calcaneal spur. Take an xray, it may shoe extra bone growth in your heel if its calcaneal spur. First we concentrate on pain relieving by 7 days of ultrasound therapy. Meanwhile you can do contrast bath bath i. E. Immerse your leg in luke warm water with pinch of salt for 10mins then cold water for 10mins. Do it 3 times per week. When the pain completely subsides then do strengthening of sole of foot muscles by crushing towel by placing it under your sole on floor. Dont wear heels, use soft sole slippers.

Hello . You are mostly having meniscal ter. Or ligament injury. Get an xray done. Apply ice and take painkillers for 7 days and feel free to take advice further if needed.

Bisphosphonates - How Long Should Osteoporosis Patients Take Them?

Bisphosphonates are the most commonly prescribed medicine for osteoporosis patients. This medicine is taken for no more than three to five years in a stretch. A doctor typically takes a call after this time period to find out whether it is suitable for the patient to continue the medicine for a longer time based on the individual risk factors.

Bisphosphonates contain four main ingredients namely Relcast, Fosamax, Boniva and Atelvia. This medicine slows the rate of bone loss and reduces the risk of fracture. This being said, there are some potential side effects of Bisphosphonates as well:

  1. Problems in the jawbone: Consumption of Bisphosphonates can lead to a condition known as the osteonecrosis. This is a disease of the jawbone swelling, pain, and infection of the jawbone. The risk increases if a patient goes through an invasive surgery such as tooth extraction.
  2. Thigh bone fracture: Prolonged intake of Bisphosphonates is believed to be a rare kind of thigh fracture known as the atypical femoral fracture. This is very similar to a stress fracture that causes subtle pain and worsens with time.
  3. Stomach upset: Bisphosphonates intake can lead to oesophageal ulcers and sharp pain in the abdomen. It can also lead to mild fever lasting for a time period of 2-3 days along with upset stomach and body ache. This symptom mostly occurs when there is an irregularity in taking the medicine.

Choosing the right Bisphosphonates:
Drugs of the Bisphosphonates class are similar in nature. While some vary in terms of maintaining potency and bone density, the overall effectiveness of this drug is on the higher side. The common aim of this drug is to reduce the rate of fracture. The decision of choosing a drug over another depends on factors such as cost, preference, convenience and tenacity to stick to the exact dosage. Doctors often prescribe the monthly dosage at one go. The dosage can also be prescribed on a weekly basis depending on the patient’s convenience.

The effect of Bisphosphonates:
Consumption of intravenous Bisphosphonates is considered to be the best medicine for fracture prevention. It is, therefore, very unlikely that a patient with osteoporosis will see additional improvement once he has taken Bisphosphonates for more than three years. This is perhaps the reason why most doctors suggest stopping this medicine after a patient consumes this for more than 3 years. Some other factors that a doctor considers while making this decision include past history of fractures, the age of the patient and the present bone density. If however, the bone density gets worse, a doctor can always restart Bisphosphonates until further improvement is witnessed. This again depends on the patient’s medical condition at the time of check-up. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

Get a MRI done to pin point the cause and site of pain . Meanwhile go for Ayurveda's Panchkarma Therapy - We have many option for u - Kati Basti (Specialised Panchakarma procedure for Backpains), Localised Massgae with Herbal oils, Localised Medicated Steam, Pottali Massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax ur back muscles and give strength to ur nerves and muscles of back. also start some Yogic exercises - Tadasana, Dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. Firstly and foremost is control of diabetes in normal range. Sexual functions & other things will improve when will when sugar is under control. Do go for one hour of brisk walking in the morning and evening and that will help you to tone yourself and reduce sugars. Relax and follow instructions.
