Tia.
Excessive physical work should be avoided and passive smoking and polluted air should be avoided. Diet should be a balanced one which includes carbohydrates, protiens and fat. One should take foods high in iron and calcium. Excess salt is to be avoided. A slow walk in an unpolluted place can be done if your gynec has no problems with it.

Breast tenderness may occur due to infection or it may occur with menstrual cycle in some ladies. Ca15.3 is not useful in this condition. Is the tenderness localised or diffuse? if any doubt, ultrasound of breast may be done considering young age of the lady. Please review with details.

Hi I am 31 year old, planning to conceive within a month itself, Please guide me. I have hyperthyroid taking thyronorm 75 mcg daily. I have a regular menstrual cycle of 30 days. Also suggest me a good sperm friendly lubricant that would not disturb me in conception. Currently I am using vaseline and it is very comfortable, I use it in the outer opening only and some on my husband, would that affect us in conception or is it fine. I would be comfortable with olive or canola oil rather than other medicated jelly. Please suggest.

Hi, assuming your follicular growth and ovulation is normal, I need more information about your duration of marriage, previous conceptions, diabetes or polcystic ovaries etc, which can be evaluated by investigating. Hope your husband's sperm count and all its parameters are within normal limits. If you are ovulating well, you will not require lubricants since your own female hormones will do the job!

Proper diet and nutrition is very important specially when you are working out. Without proper diet you will not gain muscles and all your exercise will ends in cramps and lean body.

I am giving you a schedule which if followed can be very benificial for new gym goers.whcih are as follows:

Breakfast

7:30 a.m.

1 cup plain cooked oatmeal, 4 large whole eggs, large sliced banana, 1-3 g of HMB (Beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate -- is a naturally produced substance in humans that is used as dietary supplement and as an ingredient in some medical food products)

Mid morning Snack

10:00 a.m.

3-4 slices turkey breast, 2-3 slices whole bread, mustard, lettuce, 2 low fat cheese, A fruit

Lunch

1:00 p.m.

2 cups pasta, 1 cup broccoli, 6 oz. lean ground beef

Midday Snack

3:00 p.m.

2 slices whole wheat bread, ½ avocado, ½ can albacore tuna

Pre- workout

5:00 p.m.

2 slices whole wheat bread, 20 g protein shake (whey or whey/casein) with 3-5 g creatine,  1-3 g HMB, 3-5 g creatine

Post- workout

5:30 p.m.

20-40 g of protein shake(whey or whey/casein) with 3-5 g of creatine, 32 oz. sports drink, 1-3 g HMB, 3-5 g creatine

Dinner

7:30 p.m.

8 oz. chicken breast, 1 cup broccoli, baked sweet potato(large)

Bedtime

10:30 p.m.

1 cup low fat cottage cheese, 2-3 tbsp. peanut butter, 1-3 g HMB

Also note the following -- In case you are not gymming, cut out the calories mentioned here as you probably will never burn them off.

  • Drink a full glass each of water after waking up in the morning, about 15 minutes before each meal, and before and after workouts. DO NOT drink water DURING meals. Try to drink more than 1.5 litres of water every day.
  • Break up your meals into five or more mini meals. For those wanting to shed some pounds, limit each meal to 300 calories for women and 400 calories for men. Breakfast within 30 min after waking up. Plan your meals in such a way that your routine life is not compromised, you stay fresh and energetic throughout the day and you don’t rush for fast food.
  • The key is to increase the intake of protein and complex carbohydrates without increasing fat. Forget the pastries, cakes, burgers, pizza and fries. For an intense workout with weights, try a high protein diet. Whey powder, meat, chicken, eggs, skimmed toned milk, cheese, yogurt, soy milk are rich in protein. These help build muscle mass. Starch rich foods like bread, rice, chapattis, parathas etc. are best before exercise. Post workout, it is best to stick to fruit juices, smoothies and other simple sugar containing food like fruits, bananas etc. All carbohydrates are converted to glucose in the body before any energy can be derived from them. Save your body some effort by eliminating this tiresome process after a grueling gym routine.
  • Write down in your diary any new tips you learnt, any new exercises that you tried and whatever resolutions you want to make for your fitness routine. Track what you eat and the amount of calories it is likely to contain. Put it on paper. This will help you to burn off what you took in.

Hello, PCOS or pcod s a problem in which a woman's hormones are out of balance. It can cause problems with your periods and make it difficult to get pregnant. PCOS also may cause unwanted changes in the way you look. If it isn't treated, over time it can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes and heart disease. The most common symptoms are: Acne. Weight gain and trouble losing weight. Extra hair on the face and body. Thinning hair or even hair loss on scalp. Irregular periods. Often women with PCOS have fewer than nine periods a year. Some women have no periods. Others have very heavy bleeding. Fertility problems. Many women who have PCOS have trouble getting pregnant (infertility), depression. Regular exercise, healthy foods, and weight control are the key treatments for PCOS. Treatment (hormonal) can reduce unpleasant symptoms and help prevent long-term health problems. Try to fit in moderate activity and/or vigorous activity often. Brisk Walking, jogging, dance or aerobics are great exercise that most people can do. Eat heart-healthy foods. This includes lots of vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans, and whole grains. It limits foods that are high insaturated fat, such as meats, cheeses, and fried foods. Most women who have PCOS can benefit from losing weight. Even losing 5 kg may help get your hormones in balance, regulate your menstrual cycle and can make you ovulate.
