What does single tick means in prega news test it means pregnancy or non pregnancy.PLease tell.
Single line generally means no pregnancy. However, you need to repeat the test in about 5-7 days to be perfectly sure. 2 lines indicate positive test for pregnancy.

If she has a regular cycle of 28 days then 17 or 18 th will be her ovulation and that is the time she can conceive otherwise you can have sex on every alternate day from 10th day of the cycle to the 20th day counting first day of the periods as day one.

Hi doctor. I would like to know about breast cancer, what is it? it's causes? symptoms etc..

MD - Radiation Oncology, MBBS
Oncologist, Delhi
Breast cancer as the name suggests is cancer that starts in breast. It generally starts with a small lump in the breast. If not treated on time can progress to involve the whole breast and may even spread to other parts of body. No specific cause but increase exposure to hormones, not breastfeeding children, having late children, postmenopausal hormone therapy, obesity etc are some of the known risk factors.

What is the side effects using antibiotics ( Ciprofloaxcin and Norfloaxcin) on initial pregnancy stage.(Fusing time)

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology)
Gynaecologist, Bangalore
Recent studies have shown that the use of fluoroquinolones (Ciprofloxacin and Norfloxacin) during early pregnancy is not associated with an increased risk of any major malformations. There were no clinically significant musculoskeletal dysfunctions in children exposed to fluoroquinolones in utero. However, chances of abortion are increased.

Your age is not on right side, but since you have no kids, try actively under guidance of a doctor, get all necessary marker tests done during early pregnancy and blood tests, usg to rule out any abnormality in the baby.

It's not a problem. Dont worry. You need treatment. Do a USG of pelvic part and see size and count. Then try APIS M 30 twice daily for 1 month and again do USG see the result. If not reduced then contact me.

Inflammation of The Vagina - Could it be Vaginitis?

MBBS, MD - Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Advanced Infertility
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Inflammation of The Vagina - Could it be Vaginitis?

Vaginitis is the inflammation of one’s vagina accompanied by pain during intercourse, mild vaginal bleeding, painful urination, vaginal itching or a considerable change in the amount, odor and color of the vaginal discharge.

Causes:
1. A certain level of bacteria is normally found in one’s vagina (lactobacilli). Now if this count is outnumbered by the other bacteria (anaerobes), the balance in the vagina gets disrupted giving rise to bacterial vaginosis. Such kind of vaginitis usually stems from sexual intercourse with multiple sex partners.
2. Yeast infections occur due to an overgrowth of fungal organisms in one’s vagina, especially Candida Albicans.
3. Trichomoniasis caused by the one celled microscopic parasite ‘Trichomonas Vaginalis’ generally spreads through sexual intercourse with an infected partner. The condition also makes one vulnerable to various sexually transmitted infections.
4. Spermicidal products, scented detergents, perfumed soaps, douches, vaginal sprays or foreign objects such as tampons that were not taken out or tissue paper might trigger allergic reactions or irritation in the vaginal tissues.
5. Surgical removal of the ovaries or reduced estrogen count after menopause might cause thinning of the vaginal lining, thereby resulting in vaginal burning, dryness or irritation.

Treatments:
1. For Bacterial vaginosis, your doctor might advise the application of clindamycin cream or metronidazole gel as well as metronidazole tablets which are to be taken orally.
2. Yeast infections might be treated with an anti-fungal suppository or cream, for instance, tioconazole, butoconazole, clotrimazole or miconazole. Oral medication, such as fluconazole is also administered to treat the same.
3. Metronidazole or tinidazole tablets are prescribed for Trichomoniasis.
4. Estrogen in the form of rings, tablets or vaginal creams is effective in treating low estrogen level after menopause.
5. For non-infectious vaginitis primarily caused by objects, such as tampons, sanitary napkins, laundry detergent or new soap, it is essential to pinpoint the source of the irritation and avoid them.

Hello lybrate-user, Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern. On 3rd of period even with unprotected sex no chance of pregnancy. Pregnancy occurs when sperm meets ovum in uterus. Ovulation from ovary occurs roughly around 14th day of menstrual cycle (when menses begins count it 1st day) in 28 days cycle. Pregnancy can occur in +/- 2 days of ovulation. Your next period date depends on history of your past periods. It varies between 25-32 days. You should get your next period maximum by today or tomorrow in general. For specif answer I need to know your last 3 periods dates. Hope this will help. For detail consultation you can contact me on www.Lybrate.com/drchintan take care and wish you good health dear girl.

Hi doctors My doctor told me to do at least 5iui before going for ivf .Due to I have pcos prob and hubby sperm count low (varicose vein in testicles left side) and one relative told me to do acupuncture to regulate period and 'll conceive soon suggestions about this method please.

Hi doctors My doctor told me to do at least 5iui before going for ivf .Due to I have pcos prob and hubby sperm count ...
Hi i understood your concern First of all, Its true that you should go for at least 5-6 cycle of IUI before going to IVF. And ya there is a no proven evidence that accupuncture and etc techinique will regulate period. If you have PCOS than best is exercise and at least reduce 10% of body weight that will definately help. Regarding LOW semen count of husband if its very low means less than 10 milli/ml than directly go for IVF/ICSI. Success rate with IUI is low in such condition. happy to help you Thanks
