Ian suffering from heavy hair fall due to severe dandruff I have doubt that I have psoriasis what is the precautions to take.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Jaipur
During the winters it is normal to have increase dandruff and it need not be psoriasis. You should do head shower 3 - 4 times in a week atleast. Avoid keeping oil on hair after shower. Apply Neem, nirgundi and karnaj mix oil on scalp over night and wash off in the morning using antidandruff shampoo. Even can take some blood purifiers like manjistadi ghan vati 2 tablets thrice daily and Arogyavardhini 1 tablet thrice daily. Avoid wearing helmet if you can, or before wearing helmet cover your head with a cotton scarf and make sure you wash it daily. May sure you dry your hair after shower and avoid going out with wet hairs. Thank you.

1. Use mild shampoo to wash hair (you can make your own shampoo using reetha and shikakai at home) 2. Stop using conditioners. Use natural conditioners like egg, yougurt and lemon. 3. Massage your scalp with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, sesame, castor oil at night. 4. Apply raw amla juice on hair thrice a week. 5. Rub your scalp with the juice of white onion. 6. Use a paste of bhringraj on hair. 7. You can use some good hair packs like - fenugreek and yogurt, egg and green tea. 8. You can rinse your hair with organic apple cider vinegar after washing your hair to maintain ph balance of your hair. 9. Hair health depends on the amount of protein in your diet. Foods like chicken, eggs, fish, nuts, dry fruits gives you the required nutrients to keep your skin and hair healthy. So consume plenty of them. In my face. How many pimples so what can I do those pimples were gone. Without any harmful creams.

BAMS
Ayurveda, Ambala
These are the methods to treat pimples fastly - • Do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. • Mix black pepper powder in some water to make paste & apply on the pimples three times a week. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTASHODAK SYRUP of BAIDYANATH company once a day. You can consult me privately for more medicine treatment & doubts. Be healthy.

Acne is a general term for pimples and deeper pustules that are clogged pores. If severe enough acne can leave permanent scars.

Acne is an inflammatory skin disorder of the skin?s sebaceous glands and hair follicles that affects about 80% of people between the ages of 12 and 24. During puberty high levels of hormones are produced in both girls and boys. This leads to the production of large quantities of sebum. Sebum is an irritant that can clog the pores and form a pimple which may become infected and form a pustule. Hormones don?t go away after adolescence. Many women still get premenstrual acne from of the release of progesterone after ovulation.

Acne is a disease that affects the skin?s oil glands. The small holes in your skin (pores) connect to the oil glands under the skin. These glands make an oily substance called sebum. The pores connect to the glands by a canal called a follicle. Inside the follicles, oil carries dead skin cells to the surface of the skin. A thin hair also grows through the follicle and out to the skin. When the follicle of a skin gland clogs up, a pimple grows. Most pimples are found on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders. Acne is not a serious health threat but it can cause scars.

The exact cause of acne is unknown, several related factors are:

Hormonal activity supposed to be responsible, such as menstrual cycles and puberty.

Increase in hormones called androgens (male sex hormones), which causes sebaceous glands to enlarge and make more sebum.

Hormonal changes related to pregnancy can also cause acne.

Another factor is heredity or genetics. Researchers believe that the tendency to develop acne can be inherited from parents. For example, studies have shown that many school-age boys with acne have a family history of the disorder.

Accumulation of dead skin cell.

Bacteria in the pores, to which body becomes allergic.

Skin irritation or scratching of any sort will active the inflammation.

Starting or stopping birth control pills.

Heredity (if your parents had acne, you might get it too).

Some types of medicine.

Greasy makeup.

In some patients, contributing factors may be:

Pressure: In some patients, pressure from helmets, chinstraps, collars, and the like can aggravate acne.

Drugs: Some medications may cause or worsen acne, such as those containing iodides, bromides, or oral or injected steroids (either the medically prescribed prednisone or the steroids bodybuilders or athletes take.) Most cases of acne, however, are not drug-related.
Occupations: In some jobs, exposure to industrial products like cutting oils may produce acne.

Pathophysiology of Acne

Excessive secretion of oils from the sebaceous glands accompanies the plugging of the pores with naturally occurring dead skin cells (corneocytes) blocking hair follicles.

The accumulation of these corneocytes in the duct appears to be due to a failure of the normal keratinization process in the skin which usually leads to shedding of skin cells lining the pores.

Oil secretions are said to build up beneath the blocked pore, providing a perfect environment for the skin bacteria Propionibacterium acnes and the lipophilic (oil/lipid-loving) yeast Malassezia to multiply uncontrollably.

Under the microscope, however there is no evidence of pooled trapped sebum. Indeed the oil perolates through the plugged duct onto the surface.

In response to the bacterial and yeast populations, the skin inflames, producing the vision lesion.

The face, chest, back, shoulders and upper arms are especially affected.

Acne is a group of skin rashes with different causes named as:-

Acne vulgaris

It is most commonly experienced around puberty, typically of the face and shoulders / chest.

Acne rosacea

A red rash predominantly on the face.

Acne keloidalis nuchae (pseudofolliculitis nuchae)

A rash caused by shaving.

Acne conglobata (Hidradenitis suppurativa)

Chronic abscesses or boils of sweat gland and hair follicle; in the underarms, groin, buttocks and under the breasts in women.

Acne cosmetica

Acne caused by use of cosmetics.

Acne fulminans

An extreme form of acne conglobata.

Acne medicamentosa

Acne cause by starting or stopping medicine.

Baby acne

A rash seen on the cheeks, chin, and forehead of infants.

Chloracne

Acne caused by exposure to chlorinated hydrocarbons such as dioxins or PCBs.

Yes surely. There are various factors contributing to young age hairloss. At your age it should not be a problem to cure. If you provide sufficient details we could start right away. Just keep away from off the counter hair products which do more damage than any good to your hair Regards

From past few weeks I facing hair loss what should I try to get rid of hair loss.

MD, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Pune
This is happening due to increased conversion of testosterone to dht and reduced nutrition to scalp and hair follicles. Thus, hair become weak from their roots (follicles) and acclerate hair fall. The good news is that this is easily treatable with ayurvedic tablets. These tablets block conversion of testosterone to dht. At the same time, these tablets nourish hair follicles making hair strong and prevent hair fall. Please let me know if you have any other disease or abnormal symptoms. Otherwise, this is easily managed with our wedel capsules.

I am suffering from chronic ring worm infection near my private parts. I had tried ring cutter and other ointments giving short term relief. Some time it subsides and after a gap again erupts with itching. I am having black patches due to this infection. I am specially worried about the black patches, what should I do now? I have also tried one kit for one month course along with my spouse but this also failed to cure permanently.

MBBS, DGO (cal)
General Physician,
For ring worm - i) take terbinafine tablet 250 mg 1 tab after dinner daily for 14 days. And ii) apply terbinafine 1% cream - locally twice daily for 4 weeks. You can also help to get rid of fungal infections and stop them from spreading by: 1) washing areas of affected skin daily and drying thoroughly, paying particular attention to skin folds and between your toes 2) in the case of a groin/foot infection, changing your underwear/socks daily, because fungi can persist in flakes of skin 3) with a scalp infection, not sharing combs, hairbrushes or hats 4) washing clothes, towels and bed linen frequently, wearing loose-fitting clothes, preferably made of cotton or other natural materials. Some general advices to follow to prevent: the fungi that cause tinea infections can survive on items such as furniture, hairbrushes, clothing and towels, and can be spread through contact with these items. Therefore, if someone in your household has a fungal infection, you should: 1) avoid sharing personal items? such as combs, hairbrushes, towels, clothing and bed linen 2) avoid scratching the affected areas of your skin or scalp, because it could spread the infection to other parts of your body it? s important that other household members check themselves for signs of infection and get treatment if necessary. If you suspect that your pet is the source of the infection, take them to your vet for treatment. Patches of missing fur is a sign that an animal has ringworm. Always wash your hands after touching a pet with the infection. If someone in your family has a fungal infection, there is no need for them to stay off work or school. However, treatment should be started as soon as possible. Good personal hygiene should also be followed to stop it spreading to other children. Wearing something on your feet in gym and swimming pool changing rooms will reduce your chances of getting athlete? s foot. Now your last 3 months itching. May take cetrizine 10 mg tab 1 tab after coming back home in the evening as and when required. Caution do not drive or do work with rotary machine if you feel sleepy.
