Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Firstly avoid long sitting, standing tk rest and break between work. Do walk and spine extension exercise. Heat fermentation with rest time for 20 minutes. Tk muscle relaxant medicine and start stretching exercise in daily routine.

Some white spot on nail. My Dr. said vitamin and calcium deficiency so please tell me home remedy and diet from which I gain these. Please tell me diet can I eat fish drink mil or eat egg daily. I never drink milk from 7 years my foot are paining due to calcium is low.

For milk you have to take it progressively skimmed milk like take half glass and add water half and then monitor whether it suits you. You can add curd in your diet as per it suits. Non vegs are good sources of calcium and protein along with milk. Beans, almonds, broccoli, fish etc are rich source of calcium.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

And I feel pain always after surgery sometime it becomes too much. I want to know that is this happen in varicocele operation procedure or can some problems.

If you have not exercised for a while it is worth visiting you Doctor to get a check-up before you get into any fitness program. Start your fitness programme slowly, many people rush back into their exercise programs at exactly the same level of intensity that they where at when they last exercised –remember that muscles tighten as we get older and we need to build up our level of intensity gradually – I suggest no more than a 10% increase in time, speed or intensity each week. Stretching is very important before starting your exercises. Make sure you get good instruction on the correct technique for all of your exercises before you get serious and increase the weights. Speak to one of the Physio & Fitness gym trainers if you are at all concerned about how to do any of the exercises in your program. Best wishes.

Try this for joint pains try this. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.

I am 63 yrs old and a small gap in my right knee. Despite taking calcium capsules and other medicines but of no respite. As of now there is stiffness in my right knee. I cant bend my my right leg, please advice suitable medicine. Regards

Usually there is gap in knee joint. It might have decreased. It's osteoarthritis. No medicine will work in osteoarthritis. Get x rays done while standing on one leg. Till then do exercises to increase movements.

Knee pain- both legs, since nov 2016 Reports - xray, protein, calcium, vitD, vit b12 all good. Previously vit d nd b12 deficient ESR is 10 Inflammation level - fine took medicines for that in dec for one month IRON LEVEL 38 Diagnosis - muscles weak, doing stretching exercise now Please suggest for what could be d possible reason for such severe pain. Is tht lubricant not forming. If yes, how to get ths checked. It starts after walk n standing for more than 15 mins.

Hello Lybrate user. It seems that you hav done the related diagnosis. As you mentioned above ther r possibility you have developed early osteoarthritis in both knee. Increase intake of natural sources of calcium n protein. Reduce all activity which r pain aggravating. Apply cold packs or icing for 20 min 2 time a day .do quadriceps static n slr exercises. Put towel roll under your inme ,press roll down using knee ,it's surrounding muscles. Hold it for 15 sec for 10 repetition for thrice a day n do hamstring stretches. Dear you can follow these methods for relief from Backache(back pain): * First correct your sitting posture. Do not bend your lower back.You can use lumber belt for support. * Do regular back strength exercises.Move your clockwise and anticlock wise. * Do not sleep on very soft bed ,sleep on slight hard cotton mattress. * Do Tadasana and Bhjangasana for back strengthening.If you can not understand these asans you can consult me. * Take calcium rich diet and calcium and vitamin D supplements regularly. *Do not Take any heavy weight or heavy work. * If you are over weight then follow a good and effective diet plan to loose some kilos of weight. a lot of reasons behind this problem.. avoid forward bending and heavy lifting. avoid prolonged sitting and standing. take hot fermentation for back. do some spinal strengthening exercises.. be careful about your posture during sitting.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

My father is 89 yrs old and wt 95 kgs. on 30 dec he underwent for hip replacement surgery . he is a patient of alzeimeric dementia and some times becomes very aggressive. during his hospitalisation his left buttock's apx 2*3i nch epidermal portion was eroded after fungal infection which is still not healed what should i do for its healing and his normal walk and gait

Consult a dermetologist because he is quiet old his immunity may be poor. His dementia will lead to lack of proper care for fungal infection and cleenliness so he will mneed local and systemic means oral anti fungal drugs.may be for a little longer duration. Hi, Take 2tsf of Maharasnadi Kashaya diluted with 2 tsf of water 3 times daily with tab. Mahayogaraja Guggulu 1-1-1 with hot water. Apply Mahanarayana Taila to the affected joints 3 times a day and give hot water fomentation. Reduce your weight gradually by taking low calorie diet and doing exercises.
