I am 48 years old female. I have regular pain in the knee and I have blood pressure below average in routine check ups. I have tried change of diet. Also used calcium and multivitamin tablets for few months. Knee caps are being used daily. But still relief is not there.

You may have thyroid issues or vitamin deficiency or uric acid. Get a check up done. Also, if you have gained weight, then it can cause knee pain. If the knees are swollen and feel heavy, if there is a sound when you sit or get up and doing that is painful, stair climbing is difficult, then it might be the beginning of knee arthritis or other knee joint problem, also resulting in muscle weakness around the knee. So get a orthopedic consultation and a physiotherapy consultation personally.

Pain is a symptom of some defect in the body. To numb the pain one can take painkillers, but that does not address the underlying cause. To remove pain from the roots one needs to know the cause. And for that you have to describe it better.

Hello. Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight, avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). (Excessive sitting or standing is to be avoided as well don’t carry much weight on shoulders). Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Begin focusing each body part and relaxing it, then moving on. Keep the mind focused on relaxation, the breath should be normal. Relax the whole body. Management: -Stretching or activities that place additional strain on the back are discouraged. -Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. -Lying on your back with a pillow under your knees would also relieves pain and no pillow under your head. -Some people seem to benefit from the use of ice or heat. Take care, do not use a heating pad on ‘high’ or place ice directly on the skin. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Get back to me thereafter.

I suggest you follow the below for your condition: take mag phos 12x - thrice daily for next 2 weeks and update. Also do x-ray of the affected area. Rest. Ceasing activity for a few days allows injured tissue and even nerve roots to begin to heal, which in turn will help relieve lower back pain. However, more than a few days of rest can lead to a weakening of the muscles, and weak muscles have to struggle to adequately support the spine. Patients who do not regularly exercise to build strength and flexibility are more likely to experience recurrent or prolonged lower back pain. Heat and ice packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of low back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Good posture is key for back pain reduction. Avoid long sitting in a posture give rest to your back between work. Use lumber supports in sitting. Adjust height of your chair so you can not lean too much forward full back support required. Some stretching exercises in between work made changes. Back extension exercises morning and evening 10 times.

Dear Shiva, Namaskar, One set of screws is removed to unlock the nail....when You walk on the unlocked nail,there is pressure at the fracture site to promote union of the fracture...You seem to have a delayed union...After screw removal you should gradually wear off Crutch support.....Take care.

Yes this is planter fascitis and if it is leave untreated it converts into calcanial spur. Calcanial spur is the next stage of planter fascitis where fascia becomes calcified and looks like extra bone growth below heel bone in x ray film, it is more painful and difficult to treat. Medial planter nerve passes near the fascia and it may also get affected, night sharp, shooting, burning pain in the planter aspect of foot indicates nerve involvement. Following treatment is given to treat planter fascitis. 1. Stretching of calf muscle and planter fascia 2. Contrast bath for foot 3. Soft tissue manipulation 4. Tibial nerve mobilisation 5. Intrinsic muscles strengthing exercises 6. Antipronation taping 7. Kinesiology taping 8. Dry needling 9. Ankle joint manipulation.

Hello doctor please tell me approx How much bone is destructed according to this mri report? Lumbar spondylosis with degenerative disc disease at L1-2, L2-3, L4-5, L5-SI. Mild bilateral nerve root canal narrowing at L4-5. Dear user, it happens nothing to worry, avoid prolonged standing or sitting. Apply heat fermentation with any pain relief ointment to reduce pain. Lying flat on bed put rolled towel under your knee and press it x20 times twice a day for 10 days. I suggest you to consult in person with physiotherapist for proper diagnosis and treatment.
