I have red eyes, felt week and felt pain in whole body and have little more fever. Is this viral fever?

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
I have red eyes, felt week and felt pain in whole body and have little more fever.
Is this viral fever?
Fever is not considered medically significant until body temperature is above 100.4 F (38 C). Fever serves as one of the body's natural defenses against bacteria and viruses which cannot live at a higher temperatures..Also, the body's defense mechanisms seem to work more efficiently at a higher temperature -Fevers of 104 F (40 C) or more may be dangerous and demand immediate treatment The following medications may be used at home for mild fever : -Acetaminophen (dolo-650 mg) twice or thrice can be used to lower a fever . Aspirin should not be used in children during a viral illness. -Wear comfortable loose fitting clothes and donot overdress. Overdressing can cause the temperature to rise further. -Tepid water (85 F [30 C]) baths may help bring down a fever -The body should be cooled with a wet sponge. -Fever can cause dehydration.Drink plenty of fluids.Have citrus fruits, particularly Vitamin C rich ones like mausami,Amla juice etc. -Take light and easily digestible home cooked meals .avoid outside food -Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water especially before meals, or after returning from a public places or using public transport. -Further therapy depends on the cause of fever like urinary infection/typhoid or malaria/dengue infection and the accompanying symptoms that need to be investigated and treated accordingly

Hi. Get your eyes tested. Usually eye fatigue can be prevented or reduced by making simple changes in your work habits or environment. Make changes to your computer screen, such as: Place the screen 20-26 inches away from your eyes and a little below eye level. Regularly clean off dust and fingerprints from the screen. Smudges on the screen can reduce contrast and increase problems with glare and reflections. Choose screens that tilt and swivel. Consider using a glare filter over your screen. Make changes to your work environment, such as: Change lighting to reduce glare and harsh reflections. Use an adjustable chair. Place a document holder next to your computer screen. Can wear anti-glare spectacles during using computer. Make changes to your work habits, such as: Try the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look away about 20 feet in front of you for 20 seconds. Post a note that says "Blink" on the computer as a reminder. Take regular breaks from computer work. Take care of your eyes with these steps: Apply a washcloth soaked in warm water to tired, dry eyes (with eyes closed). Use artificial tears to refresh your eyes when they feel dry. To help prevent dry eyes while working indoors, use an air cleaner to filter dust and a humidifier to add moisture to the air. Medication: Instill 2 drops of Euphrasia eye drops twice daily.

My eye's dry when I see pc what can I do?

DOMS, MBBS
Ophthalmologist,
My eye's dry when I see pc what can I do?
It seems probably you spend a long time on your computer and you have developed computer vision syndrome. Go to a clinic for physical check up. Get your refraction done. Orthoptics done. To find any refractive error or muscle weakness. Also try to blink your eyes properly while work. Use good tear substitutes like genteal four times a day. And anti glare screen for your system.

I have a lot of weight. I used many medicines. Does exercise. But it does not see any change. What should I do.
The weight gain in the body is due to the more of the calories in your diet than you burn in the whole day. One should eat balanced diet comprising of Carbohydrates-50%, protein-40% and fat 10% in right ratio with a maximum of 1500-1800 calories per day. To keep satiety at meals increase your protein and lower your cabs content, these wills the amount of food in next meal and thus decrease calorie consumption. Good choices of protein to be opted are: •Egg white •Sprouts •Mushroom •Oats •Chicken and fish Drink plenty of water and do not include high density source of calorie rich snacks like nuts and seeds. Make sure to include workout schedule at least 5 times a week along with maintaining rest session and complete sleep for a healthy body and mind.

Any activity such as a bath, reading, music etc. which relaxes you, make it a bedtime ritual. *Regular exercise:-Set a regular exercise schedule, and for maximum benefits exercise 5-6 hours before sleep time. *Avoid caffeine alcohol and nicotine:-Caffeine drinks e.g. coffee and tea should be avoided after evening hours.Alcohol and smoking before bedtime should be completely avoided. Glonoinum & Ruta Graveolens. One of my friend got treated for Glaucoma with the above combination. Is it true?

MBBS, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Hyderabad
It is not known or documented scientifically that these things can "cure" glaucoma. It would be very risky to give up standard treatment and experiment with one's own vision. Do not depend on individual experiences and advise. However, if these things are proven to be effective scientifically, in large clinical trials, then doctors would prescribe them anyway.
