Hello Doctor My age is 32 Is it good to take zandu pancharishta tonic for acidity and gas and tight feeling in chest.
Dear lybrateuser, -you can cure your acidity by avoiding spicy & fried foods, have bland food for few days -take your meals on time & do not skip meals, have meals 2-3 hrs before bedtime -avoid too much of gassy foods like beans, pulses, legumes, dairy products -have plenty of fluids, water atleast 8-10 glasses a day -do not lye down immediately after meais -can have snacks inbetween meals, like nuts, sandwich, fruits, poha -do regular exercise, walking for 20-30 min a day, do yoga which benefits proper digestion -avoid too much tea, coffee -if you benefit from the above you can gradually stop all medication.

I visited a cardiologist when my wife had little pain in the upper left side of her body. He advised ecg, and after I showed him the report, he told that it was an initial stage of blocking in one of her valves. He prescribed some medicines for 15 days. Now my wife is alright, having no pain. The doctor told that she didn't need further medicines and prescribed two medicines for her blood pressure and advised non-oily and non-fatty food to her. My wife is 40 years old. Her height is 5f 4i and weight is around 65 kg. I want to know whether the blockage in the valve could be treated through medicines at initial stage? does she need further check-up?

Diploma in Family Medicine, Fellowship in Diabetology, Diploma in Diabetology, FCCP, MBBS

Hello, few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home.

Dear patient, as per your description it may be just anxiety or it may be gastric or heart disturbance also. But we need to rule out heart prob and gastric concerns first. For which you can attend your near by md physician. If both the above problems donot get diagnosed then it is anxiety or panic disorder only (though it is seeming like this only). Palpitations are also common especially in young people because of abnormal electrical circuits in heart from birth. However, they may have normal hearts on Echo. Such palpitations are curable by a nonsurgical methods called Radiofrequency Ablation.
