How to clean teeth if my teeth is yellow?

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist,
How to clean teeth if my teeth is yellow?
Bleaching is the best option to get rid of stains. Avoid tobacco products, alcohol and smoking if you take these. Brush regularly two times daily with soft bristle toothbrush. Rinse your mouth after each meal. Floss your tooth to prevent food impaction.

Please advise food sources of calcium. Also please advise how tooth decay can be arrested.

BDS, Master of Hospital Administration
Dentist, Patna
Please advise food sources of calcium. Also please advise how tooth decay can be arrested.
Food sources of calcium. 1. Cereals grams and their products like roti chapati etc. 2. Milk and milk products 3. Calcium supplements like selcal or calcium sandoz. 4. Vitamin d is responsible for the formation of calcium so you can take food rich in vitamin d. 5. Sunlight is the best source of vitamin d. 6. Cholecalciferol supplements. Tooth decay is due to the action of bacteriae thriving on the food particles coated in the form of plaque over your teeth which us invisible to the human eyes and needs CONSULTATION WITH DENTIST. There is no medicine to stop decay but it can be minimized by following the directions given by the dentist. Hope it solves your problem.

We can't say whether your pain will not occur for two weeks or any particular duration. But these medicines will surely help in reducing the symptoms. Usually 3-5 days course of medicine will not give major side effects but its not advisable to continue the medicines for 2 weeks. I suggest you to go for treatment as this will take hardly 1 hour and later sittings can be given after exams if required.

Dry mouth

Imagine the feeling of a thirst that is so strong it seems it will never be quenched, a constant burning sensation on the tongue, or lips that are constantly dry and cracked. Thirsty yet? Unfortunately, thousands of people, particularly the elderly, are affected by this condition called xerostomia or ?dry mouth.?

Dry mouth is not something to be taken lightly by any means. It can cause a lot of discomfort and have some extremely negative impacts on a person?s quality of life.

When a person has dry mouth, there is an increased risk of cavities and periodontal disease because there is less saliva to cleanse the teeth and gums. In addition, this condition is known to affect a person?s speech, taste sensation and ability to swallow.

When a patient?s salivary glands significantly decrease the production of saliva, or cease production altogether, there is a high risk of cavities or other oral diseases. Saliva is the mouth?s self-cleansing mechanism. It helps remove food debris and plaque from tooth surfaces.

A permanent feeling of dry mouth or decreased saliva flow can be caused by systemic-diseases such as: rheumatoid conditions, dysfunctional immune system, and hormonal and neurological disorders. Biological aging is a contributing factor to this condition, but does not cause dry mouth.

Dry mouth in others can be caused by radiation therapy directed at the head and neck region of the body, which can result in permanent damage to the salivary glands. In addition, there are over 400 drugs that can cause dry mouth as a side effect. The more common drugs are decongestants, diuretics, antihypertensives, antidepressants, and antihistamines.

Many patients that experience dry mouth complain of a sore or burning sensation on the tongue; dry, cracked lips, and at the corners of the mouth; and are often thirsty.

If patients exhibit these symptoms, they should immediately see an oral health professional. With a little extra care, dry mouth can be adequately controlled.

The WDA recommends those affected by dry mouth take the following precautions to keep the mouth wet and reduce the likelihood of cavities or periodontal disease:

Brush and floss teeth at least four times per day (after each meal and before bedtime)
Brush and rinse dentures after each meal
Keep water handy to wet the mouth at all times
Chew sugarless gum
Avoid tobacco, alcohol, sodas and foods high in sugar content
Use moisturizer on the lips to alleviate discomfort.

Hi I want to go for crowns and veeners for my complete upper and lower jaw as I have stained teeth. Please suggest me an economical option, as per some dentist it will cost around Rs. 1,50,000.

BDS
Dentist,
You will need to first check out what stains you have on your teeth. If those are minor then maybe scaling, polishing and bleaching can take care of it. In case you still need to go for veneers, then usually the front 6-10 teeth in the upper and lower jaw are treated, which will get you that perfect smile. The cost varies according to the veneer material used and also who is doing it. Just enquire around and get it done from someone you trust fully.. And remember.... "price is what you pay, value is what u get" Keep smiling :)

If the tooth breaks, have the tooth contoured. Fill the crack in. Place a crown on your tooth. If the tooth has been badly damaged and the nerve or pulp is exposed, the dentist may have to perform a root canal to save the tooth. If the tooth has been severely damaged, it may have to be extracted. Actually crown protects your tooth.

Hello! bad smell from mouth could be because of deposits on your teeth or food lodged between your teeth. Brush your teeth twice daily, floss regularly and rinse after every meal. If it still persists, visit your doctor to get scaling and polishing done.

I am 21 year. Every time smell is coming from my mouth. How to prevent and stop this permanently. Tell me something. ...
80% of bad breath comes from an oral source. For instance, cavities or gum disease can lead to bad breath, as can tonsils that have trapped food particles; cracked fillings, and less-than-clean dentures. Several internal medical conditions also can cause your breath to go downhill fast. They include diabetes, liver disease, respiratory tract infections, and chronic bronchitis. You'll want to see your doctor to rule out things like acid reflux, postnasal drip, and other causes of chronic dry mouth (xerostomia)..Good oral hygiene also is key to fighting bad breath. Ideally, you should brush and floss after every meal to help reduce the odor-causing bacteria in your mouth. While a regular toothbrush works just as well if you use it as recommended, An electric toothbrush is also available in the market
