I am suffering from teeth problem, and they become yellow, what should I do for making white?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening procedures (bleaching or laser) and / or artificial enamel filling. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

So if you very well know that it's a bad habit to eat gutka, then you should immediately leave the habit as these all lead to precancerous lesions.

MDS Prosthodontics, MDS Endodontist

Please visit your dentist for scaling and root planning as no other remedies or medicine will work until your teeth get clean through machine. And visit as soon as possible because pyorrhea can cause teeth loosening and you can loose your teeth.

Hi sir/madam I am suffering with tooth decay problem since 3 months what to do now I need to consult the doctor or is there any tooth paste for that.

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS, Medicine
Dentist, Mohali
You need to consult a dentist. Get the tooth examined. If the decay is in its initial stage it can be treated by tooth filling but if the decay is extensive then you need to get root canal treatment done followed by placement of crown.

Welcome New Year With Sparkling Teeth

Welcome New Year With Sparkling Teeth

Professional in-office teeth whitening is the most popular cosmetic dental procedure in the world today. Unlike home-use whitening systems that incorporate low-dose bleaching agents, in-office whitening (also known as power bleaching, power whitening, professional whitening or chair side whitening) takes place under carefully monitored conditions which allow for the safe, controlled, pain-free use of a relatively high concentration of bleaching gel – yielding results that are visible immediately.
Advantages of office bleach

No other teeth whitening procedure produces faster results.
This is the safest form of tooth bleaching.
Gum and tooth sensitivity (formerly drawbacks to in-office bleaching) are more controllable today due to thicker peroxide gels (that don't soak into the teeth as much as previous gels) and the use of desensitizers such as potassium nitrate and fluoride.
Stains that are best removed in office bleach

Chairside whitening removes organic stains or discolorations primarily caused by:
Aging. Over time, the teeth darken with a yellow, brown, green or grey cast (which may be due to heredity and/or eating habits). Yellowed teeth tend to whiten most readily.
Consumption of certain foods (notably coffee, red wine, sodas and dark-colored vegetables an
Are you suitable candidate for teeth whitening

This procedure is not suitable for those with the following conditions:
Tooth and gum hypersensitivity. To avoid a hypersensitive reaction, your dentist is likely to recommend take-home bleaching trays with a low concentration of carbamide peroxide – which is not as potent as hydrogen peroxide.
Deep and intractable staining. Some stains are resistant to high-concentration in-office bleaches. In such cases, dentists may recommend a supervised regimen of intensive take-home bleaching or alternatives to hydrogen peroxide bleaching such as bonding, crowns and porclien veneers.
Teeth that have become transparent with age. This is particularly true of the front teeth, which are thin to begin with.

Holes in teeth are nothing but cavities. If you do not get them filled in time the holes will increase in size and become painful.

Dental Health Tip

Dental Health Tip

Eating a piece of cheese after a meal helps in pulling away some of the plaque and leftover tiny food particles from meals. And since it contains calcium, it adds to the health of teeth and bones as well.

I am trying to lose weight. I have heard that honey and lemon juice along with water helps in losing weight. Does this drink have any side effects on teeth or anything? How long can I continue drinking this. Thankyou.

BDS
Dentist, Lucknow
A very nice question indeed. Yes, consumption of a lot of citrus food and drinks can lead to erosion of you enamel surface. Enamel is the outer protective white colored layer of your teeth. And consuming lot of citrus juices erode the superficial layer of enamel exposing the underlying dentin (part of tooth having sensation) leading to major tooth problem of tooth sensitivities. Although this erosion process is slow but in addition to you daily wear of enamel due to ageing process will definitly speed up your side effects. So I would advice you to go for weight with proper exercise and a balanced diet and avoid taking such short cuts. Get some muscle movements.

Surprise! Garlic CURES Bad Breath.
How Garlic CURES Bad Breath

It’s a little known fact that Garlic is very effective when it comes to battling bad breath. Garlic is a natural cleanser and an antibiotic. It helps the body to push out the decaying food particles stuck to the intestinal walls while also killing the harmful bacterium present therein. Food stuck in your gut generally makes your breath smell foul. It’s your body’s way of telling you to clean your stomach.

To get rid of bad breath, simply mince 3-5 cloves of Garlic and swallow with a small glass of milk. You can also add a pinch of parsley to the mix for added effectiveness.
