Hello you are suffering from the back pain caused by long continuous sitting posture and sedentary life style. you are advised to take 10 minutes break after every 2 hour sitting.Start a morning walk for at least 30 minutes.Regular walking is also very helpful as it is a wholesome exercise of the body, improves blood circulation and helps lose weight.Try to maintain a correct sitting posture. Take homoeopathic medicine Rhus tox. 200, 5 drops twice daily for 10 days, then revert me with feed back. Thanks.

I am 47 years old. Female. Having high blood pressure. Taking regular medicine. Now it is under control. For last one month having a pin in my right shoulder. I am working lady 12 to 14 hours working in laptop. For last 2 days also notice that when I am in bed either it is at night or in the morning. Sudden headmoving (blundness) it is for a moment. If I head down also felt the same. Why it is happening. Need advise.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Your pain in your right shoulder region could be due to some early degenerative changes setting in the affected joint. Also lack of exercises, active lifestyle could be contributing to this. My advise will be, if there is no swelling, associated skin redness, local warmth etz and if there is no h/o any injury, then you can initiate physical therapy under supervision of a good physical therapist, ice fomentation 2-3 times at home, gentle anti inflammatory medication like tab etoshine etc for 5-7 days, continue with adequate calcium and vitamin d intake as recommended, and you should start feeling better in 2-3 weeks time. I could not understand the second part of your question which I think is more of a neurology issue rather than an orthopaedic one. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Its just a soreness after workout so nothing to worry and please take rest between sets and do stretch before and after every set. Apply ice pack after your workout.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take BioD3 Max 1 tab dailyx10 Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x5days Do back(spine)/shoulder/knee exercises Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take Do not ignore it. It may have to be further investigated. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days,then contact me again. Contact your family doctor or nearest hospital for emergency help.

Hi doctor,Two months before I got a gastric problem by eating prawns. That same week I played shuttle after a long time so I got sprain in my back. I went for body massage it got relieved but pain started in ankle and foot. I took X-ray . Doctor said it may be a ligament tare so I use soft soul shoes. But still pain don't get relief. Non-veg food is always harmful esp as animals dont have the means to neutralise any antibodies / steroids given to them to make them "look healthy and plump. But on the other hand plants have the ability to neutralise any toxin that it is sprayed with or filter itself from polluted soil. Hence its better to stick to plant based diet always and remain healthy. Your BMI is about 30 which falls under obesity. Calculate your calorie intake and expenditure. Calories spent should be more than intake. Follow regular routine of exercise. Take 30 days challenge to lose atleast 5 kg off.

Don't worry please wake up early in the morning go for morning walk in greenery daily do yogasanas and pranayam daily avoid rice, oily food don't take pain killer frequently, it will harm you a lot.

General recommendations are: - decreasing intake of red meat, alcohol, rice in your diet and other purine rich sources - also increase your water intake so that uric acid is excreted from body well. - keeping your weight to normal levels will also help you. - intake of fresh fruits, citrus fruits and cherries has been implicated in reducing uric acid values in the body as well. Nowadays there is a medication by the name of febuxostat which helps in lowering uric acid levels in body but kindly check out that it suits your body. Hello Dr, I am 22 year old male. I do swimming, jogging regularly. Apparently I've stopped all of my physical activities for the past 1 month because I've started getting lower back stiffness, to get rid of that, I need to break knuckles at that part regardless of anything like TIME, place etc. By doing this regularly I've started getting Lower back pain for the past few weeks. My mom is a known patient of osteoporosis, so urging myself I went to take DEXA for determining my bone mineral density, result was AP SPINE L1-L4 MEAN DENSITY OF 0.946gm/cm² corresponding to a t score of - 2.3.Dual femur mean density of 0.916gm/cm²,corresponding to a t score of - 1.3.I Consulted some physicians here, they are carelessly saying that I'm perfectly fine by considering my age, mean while other one is saying that I've not attained my peak bone density growth. I'm a medical student, having few knowledge I don't know what to believe and what not to believe. I'll be so thankful if someone tell me what exactly is happening in my body. And my body fat percentage is 37%that means I need to put myself in obese category, but my hip size is jus 34 inch and I've never felt I'm over weighted person. Please help me doctors.

Hi arun! I could see a healthy champ that you exercise regularly. Your age and healthy lifestyle won't let you down. No worries please. You just think about the activities that you have done before the exact pain started like heavy weight lift, jump from height, sudden fall. If your back pain is the same or severing from the time it started you may be repeatedly injuring the spot which is the source of pain. Please note the time you get severe pain in a day, how it gets reduced with position and time, what movements are possible and not possible in your back because pain, check for change in sleeping surface (like change in bed), sleeping position, amount of workload or work time you spend in a day. After noting all these aspects consult a qualified physiotherapist he/she may help in finding the cause and treatment.

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).
